Chapter Text
“Hmmmm.. Ondine, truth or dare?” Kim smirked at Ondine and crossed his arms. “Uhm, truth.” Ondine replied with a smile. They were playing truth or dare on the rooftop garden with all their friends. “No way! I was already planning a dare for you! Why’d you have to choose truth?” Kim whined but Ondine just laughed and gave him a peck on his cheek. “Fine then, dare.” Kim’s face lit up in excitement. “I dare you to act like a monkey!” Ondine sighed and awkwardly got up. She started making monkey noises and everyone laughed. Kim fell to the ground and started rolling around out of laughter. Ondine sat back down and pulled Kim up to sit next to her. She chuckled and kissed him. “Awww they’re so adorable!” Said Rose, admiration apparent in her eyes as she squealed in happiness.
Alix cleared her throat and everyone looked at her. “Well, now it’s my turn. Nathaniel, truth or dare?” Her eyes sparkled with mischief and she smirked. Nathaniel was caught off guard. He had been hoping no one would ask him. “Uhh..” Nathaniel felt everyone’s eyes on him, which made him feel awkward. Marc nudged his shoulder and whispered. “Don’t worry Nath, it’s just a game nothing bad will happen. You should choose dare for once. Well only if you want to of course.” Marc giggled and smiled. Nathaniel thought about it for a moment. “I choose.. dare.” Nathaniel felt everyone’s eyes on him. Maybe choosing dare was a mistake. But while everyone else looked shocked, Alix’s face lit up. She stood up and with confidence in her voice she spoke. “Well then, I dare you... to kiss Marc. For at least 5 seconds!” Nathaniel and Marc looked at Alix in shock, their jaws dropping in synchronization. “What?! B-but, why?” Nathaniel’s cheeks turned a light pink color and Marc tried pretending he wasn’t there.
“Oh this is gonna be good.” Alya said with a smirk as she placed her hand on Marinette’s shoulder. “I know right! Maybe after this they’ll finally realize their love for one another!” Marinette clapped her hands and giggled. “Let’s just hope they don’t take as long as a certain couple.” Alya chuckled and nudged Marinette. “Oh come on Alya.” Marinette playfully hit Alya’s arm and the two of them giggled together.
“I’m not gonna kiss Marc! That’s not fair for him…” Nathaniel was nearly as red as a tomato and he fiddled shyly with a strand of hair. Alix frowned. “Oh come on! Don’t act like you two don’t dream of making out every day…” and if Nathaniel wasn’t blushing before, he definitely was now. He felt his face heat up and he just wanted to run away at that moment. “Ok Alix, maybe you should hold back a little? I don’t think they can handle anymore.” Marinette smiled awkwardly and patted Alix’s shoulder. “Well it’s a dare. They have to do it!” Nathaniel and Marc had scooted away from each other and tried not to make eye contact. Marinette walked up to the two and tried talking to them. “Guys, it’s just a dare. No one’s gonna judge you, don’t worry.” Marinette smiled softly at them.
Nathaniel and Marc stood in front of each other, their faces still slightly red. “I’m sorry Marc, it’d be unfair to everyone if I didn’t do the dare.” Marc smiled slightly and looked down. “It’s ok Nath, I don’t mind at all.” Marc grabbed Nathaniel’s hands and squeezed them. “Come on, how much slower could you be!?” Kim burst out, clearly getting impatient. Alya smirked. “Well Marinette and Adrien took months!” Alix, getting impatient as well, sighed and yelled. “Just kiss already! We’re waiting you know.” Nathaniel took a deep breath and leaned in closer. Alya quickly pulled out her phone to capture the moment. Nathaniel got closer and closer, until finally, his lips met Marc’s. Ayla quickly took a photo, and Nathaniel and Marc stepped away from each other. The two, clearly very flustered, both covered their faces with their hands.
“Yes! I got it! This moment will be remembered for a very long time.” A pleased smirk appeared on Alya’s face. Nathaniel looked up. “What do you mean “I got it.”?” Ayla turned around and snickered. “Oh nothing, just this.” She showed him the picture she had taken, and Nathaniel’s jaw dropped. “B-but, why? Why’d you take a picture?” She slipped her phone into her bag. “I thought it’d make for a great memory, don’t you think so?” Nathaniel’s face twisted into a frown. “You have to delete it.” Alya’s brows furrowed. “Why?” She placed her hands on her hips and tilted her head in confusion. Nathaniel looked down. “If that picture gets out, I’m done for! My mom can NOT see it.” Alya’s face relaxed. “Don’t worry Nathaniel, I won’t send it to anyone. Well I might send it in the group chat, but no where else I promise! Your mom won’t find it.” Nathaniel let out a sigh of relief. “Alright fine. Keep the photo then.” Ayla smiled, pulling out her phone and sending the picture to their group chat.
The game of truth or dare came to an end, and people started to go home. Nathaniel and Marc waved goodbye to everyone and left. They walked down the street together in an awkward silence. They always talked about a bunch of things when going home, but today felt different. Marc stopped and so did Nathaniel. “Uhm… we’re at my street now.” Nathaniel nodded and looked down for a second. “See you tomorrow, Marc.” He leaned in for a hug and Marc returned it. “See you, Nath.” Marc turned down his street and waved at Nathaniel. He waved back and began walking alone.
