"We should kiss each other !" Miyeon yelled from her corner of the mcountdown dressing room.
"ah stop it unnie" shuhua replied dryly.
The group had been discussing encore ideas since the last 30 minutes, seeing as they had a chance of winning a trophy.
"I swear we have already done that Miyeon unnie" Yuqi commented, her red hair cascading her face while she is busy typing away on her phone.
"That's true but if Miyeon unnie wants, I can kiss her during the encore" Soyeon smiles at miyeon, mischief playing on her lips.
The frown on Yuqi's face is visible way back from Soyeon's corner of the room.
"You guys are impossible" Minnie sighs.
"And the winner for today's mcountdown is Mono by i-dle! Congratulations!"
The girls thank neverland for the win and start the encore stage.
Everything was going fine, by Soyeon's standards atleast. The girls were having fun on stage, dancing and jumping around while the fans yelled their lyrics back to them.
Audience reaction is a high she will never get tired of, Soyeon thinks.
And then, something happens.
Shuhua and Minnie are supposed to bring their faces close to each other, mimicking an almost kiss for this part of the choreography. Soyeon doesn't think much about it initially, busying herself with dancing to the music instead.
But suddenly, a hand (No-Yuqi's hand, her brain corrects) is grabbing her by the wrists and pulling her towards herself.
Soyeon is suddenly face to face with big doe eyes looking directly into her eyes. Soyeon's face is close to Yuqi's face.
Too close.
Way too close.
Their lips are almost touching. Their bodies are touching too, Soyeon finally registers. They are stuck together like magnets.
Soyeon's nerve endings are on fire. She hopes Yuqi can't hear her heart thumping out of it's ribcage but it really just feels like a lost cause.
She makes out a tiny smile on Yuqi's face. What an evil woman, she thinks but she knows that's far from the truth.
Get it together, Soyeon.
Soon enough though, that part in the choreography ends, and Soyeon finds herself cold from the lack of contact.
The audience has erupted in loud shouts. She barely has time to look at the camera and give a meek smile.
The rest of the encore is a blur. Soyeon tries to finish her lines without her voice shaking.
After their encore, the girls say bye to each other and the staff before finally leaving for their homes after a hectic day.
It is then that Soyeon decides to corner Yuqi in their dressing room after all the girls leave.
"What was that" Soyeon says, hands crossed over her chest.
Yuqi fixes her with a blank stare for a few seconds before breaking into a laugh. "Unnie I'm gonna need more than that"
"Don't be a fool. You know what I'm talking about." Soyeon hesitated before continuing, "the little stunt you pulled during the encore."
A look of realisation passes over her face. "Oh.."
Yuqi smiles wide. The kind of smile that makes Soyeon's heart stutter against her will.
Yuqi takes both of Soyeon's hands in hers and pulls her closer to herself. Soyeon hopes Yuqi doesn't notice her uneven breathing.
"It was just fanservice baby" her voice is husky but smooth as honey.
"Don't call me that" Soyeon's voice has gone up an octave. "And I would like to be informed before you pull some shit like that again. I need to keep myself prepared, Yuqi-ya"
Yuqi stares at Soyeon, her gaze falls on Soyeon's lips before landing on her eyes again. The air between them feels heavier as Soyeon battles with her insane desire of closing the gap between them and get a taste of Yuqi's plump lips.
Yuqi breaks the silence that had fallen between them. "You're too cute like this"
"Don't-" Soyeon's words her stuck in her throat as plump lips press squarely against her own in a peck.
Yuqi pulls Soyeon's body closer, flush against her own as she deepens the kiss.
When they pull away, both of them are breathing heavy.
"Don't stress too much Sso", Yuqi reaches to ruffle Soyeon's hair a bit before she is out the door.
Soyeon is staring dumbly at the door for an unestimated amount of time before she snaps back to reality.
What just happened?
Soyeon places the back of one of her palms and feels her cheeks still hot from the kiss. A confirmation that it really happened.
She is going to have to take this up with Yuqi later.
