Chapter Text
It was a warm, sunny day. Avery was outside, and he was smiling!
"Why?," you may ask?
He's going to finally meet D3rlord3! Outside of minecraft of course. The meeting place was a few blocks away, not too much to walk for him.
After he was done sobbing from earlier of course. That was a scare.
It was an average cafe, and he picked out his best shirt and shorts, both plain black. It would be hard to notice the slime slightly sticking to his clothes. After that, he got his water bottle and headed outside. He shut and locked the door behind him and started the walk to the cafe.
On the walk, he encountered birds, skunks(that he made sure to stay FAR away from,) squirrels, all that stuff.
After a little bit of obstacles, he arrived to the cafe, stepping into the dim light and looked around, taking in the kind environment that the place radiated.
He checked his phone and went to the text messages--
---------
D: "So, the cafe, perhaps?"
A: "Yeah, I could give you the address to it if you want."
D: "No need."
A; " Oh, right.. The knowledge thing.."
A: "Okay, uh.. Wanna sit at table 14? It's a little near the window anyway so we have a good view of the sunset."
D: "As long as your comfortable, Avery."
--------
Right. Table 14.
He looked up and saw Table 14 was empty. Derek probably wasn't here yet. He sat in the chair and waited for Derek to show up.
And waited.
Andd waited..
Anddd waitteed..
He was nearly about to fall asleep when the door opened.
"So sorry I'm late!'
He jolted up, slime sticking slightly to the table.
The door slammed open, scaring Avery awake.
He blinked, staring at the slime before him-- well, not slime. He was a honey block, the rest of his knight armor on, and looking gorgeous as ever.
Derek sat on the opposite side of the table.
It was awkward for a few minutes as the two didn't speak, letting the sound of the other talking partners engulf them.
A; " . . . So how were you so late? "
"Long story."
"Okay..? Can I hear it?"
"Fine."
"After me and the king merged, I somehow managed to live, with my brain still intact.
" I thought-- "
" Shh. Next, after I passed out, I woke up after.. A few days? I also figured out since the King merged with me, I could take my eyes off the screen--
" I-- "
" But I still had a lingering headache. It's a bit better now. "
"Oh."
"Yeah.. Again, my head still hurts a little, but I haven't tried coffee yet. "
"Tried coffee yet?"
"Mhm. Water didn't help, tea didn't, juice didn't.. A lot of other beverages didn't-- I even tried drinks that wouldn't help headaches, like beer and alcohol because I was desperate, and that, expected to, made the headache worse."
"God.."
Again, they stood in awkward silence for a few seconds..
Untill the waiter came over.
Avery ordered a black coffee, and Derek just ordered normal coffee.
