Work Text:
Sir Ruskin had no idea for how long he was walking this road. He was a knight who was serving the Holy Grail and who was determined that after decades of worthless attempts, he would get the lost spear back. The sacred spear - the Spear of Longinus which scarred the Christ' body once before it was taken down from the crucifix. But it was not the only injury it caused - it wounded Sir Ruskin's master, Amfortas as well when he was fighting the powerful wizard who got casted out of their lines and who was seeking revenge ever since. Since the day of the lost battle, Amfortas was in painful suffering which could only ease if the lost spear came back to where it belonged.
Next to the Holy Grail and make it shine up again to complete their ritual.
A lot of knights thought themselves to be strong enough to defeat the evil wizard, but none of them succeeded. This didn't stop the newer generations to go and try. Sir Ruskin was one of them; he was hopeful that he would be able to keep his soul pure and not fall for the sinful traps of the wizard. The evil wizard lived in the castle in the middle of the desert - and the castle's garden was a paradise where beautiful demon-women tried to tempt the knights to their ruin. Sir Ruskin strengthened his heart to not fall for the temptation. He was above material pleasures like these. He wanted it to stray true to the Holy Grail.
It was near sunset when Sir Ruskin finally spotted something at the horizon. It was the shadow of a building, reaching for the scarlet sky like a dark, devilish entity. Sir Ruskin trembled for a moment. He was so close to reaching his goal. He knew that he needed to stay persistent, no matter what happened. He didn't want to fail like his predecessors. No demon-women can make an effect on him, they were from the depths of hell. A true servant of the Holy Grail can never feel lust - only the sacrament of Christ and the cause he served.
As he walked closer and closer, Sir Ruskin heard an otherworldly song. It was like angels singing it who invited him back to the Garden of Eden. Sir Ruskin tried to not listen to it, knowing well that the ones who sang it were after his soul. With every step he took, he saw more and more from the wizard's garden. Among the trees, a spring rose from the rocks, near, a bunch of beautiful women were playing, seductively waving their hands towards him. It was like a miracle. He wanted to go there and drink, to make love with all of them, but he stopped himself in time as he remembered his goal. He can't let the demonic creatures awaken his lust. He was the chosen knight who would finally put an end to the evil wizard's rule and claim the Spear of Longinus back.
With newfound strength, Sir Ruskin started heading towards the castle. He didn't pay attention to the demon-women anymore. He saw that someone stood at the gates. The wizard, he thought and he held his sword stronger.
But he could never expect the sight of what he witnessed.
The evil wizard was someone like Sir Ruskin never saw before - not even the women in the garden could come close to his ethereal beauty. His silver, curly hair was painted by the light of the setting sun, his pale, pure skin made him seem like he was made of the finest marble. Sir Ruskin began to shake from the emotions that ran over his body. He tried to keep his soul clean, but he could feel as it slowly got filled with a new feeling - and when his eyes met the man's sparkling golden gaze, he knew that he lost it forever. It was love at first sight, something he couldn't prepare himself for. That the evil wizard he needed to defeat was the one he secretly craved in his entire life.
The sword fell out of Sir Ruskin's hand. He shrank into the sand, kneeling in front of Amfortas' enemy.
"I came to defeat you." He whispered and lowered his head. "But from this moment, I am yours and only yours."
He failed his cause and fell for the temptation, but he didn't care. He knew that he found his new master.
