Gate of happiness

Summary:

its AU gruvia fiction ..Being blind had always limited Juvia’s understanding of how beautiful and thrilling life could be. The world, to her, was defined by caution, distance, and quiet routines—until the day Gray walked into her life. Onshot.

Notes:

Hello there ..

This is Gruvia fiction ..

so it belonges to Hero Mashima sensi ..

Well some time ago, I read a story.

it lingered in my heart long after the words faded.

It was a moment—one scene in particular—between my favorite characters from Fairy Tail:

Juvia and Gray.

In that story, Juvia was blind.

She met Gray by chance, and without warning or preparation, he stepped into her life. Not as a hero seeking glory, but as a quiet presence—her protector. He became the one who guided her through experiences she had never known, emotions she had never been allowed to feel.

There was one wish that stayed with her the most.

Despite her blindness, Juvia longed to ride a bicycle—just once. Not to see the road, but to feel it. The wind, the movement, the fragile freedom of it.

And Gray… simply stepped forward and made that wish come true.

This moment belongs to the original authour "Summer Eclair " from her story " Winter Maria" .

For now, I wanted to gently revisit this scene—to describe it in my own words, with care and affection.

I hope it reaches you the way it once reached me.

Work Text:

... Gate of happiness ...

The bicycle wobbled the moment Juvia tried to push the pedal.

"Oh—" she laughed softly, startled, feet scrambling against the cold pavement.

Gray was already there.

His hands came around her waist, steady and warm, anchoring her before fear could bloom.

"Easy," he said, voice low, almost careful. "I've got you."

She relaxed instantly.

That was the strange thing—how easily she trusted him. How the tension always melted from her shoulders the moment he spoke. Juvia sat still on the narrow seat, her bare feet brushing the ground, the hem of her light yellow sundress fluttering in the early winter air.

The street was quiet, pale with cold light, the kind that made everything feel hushed and unreal.

Gray climbed onto the bike behind her, awkward and stiff, knees too long, heart suddenly too loud. He hesitated, then gently placed his hands over hers on the handles.

"Tell me if I'm holding too tight," he murmured.

Juvia shook her head, smiling wide and bright, her dull eyes unfocused yet glowing with something warmer than sight. "It's perfect," she said. "Gray-sama always knows how."

He swallowed.

He didn't know why that sentence did something to him.

"Okay," he breathed. "Just… feel the balance. Don't think about seeing the road. Trust me."

She nodded, as if that part was obvious.

They moved slowly at first. The bike creaked forward, tires rolling softly over the street. Juvia's laughter slipped out—light, surprised, free. She clutched the handles tighter, then loosened again as Gray guided her hands, correcting gently, patiently.

"This is amazing!" she said, cheeks pink from the cold. "It feels like flying…!"

Gray smiled without realizing it.

From where he sat, she was framed by winter light and pale color, like something unreal. He could feel the slight tremble in her arms, the way she leaned into him without hesitation, trusting him with her balance, her safety, herself.

And something unfamiliar stirred in his chest.

For the first time in a long while, he didn't feel like someone drifting through his days. Here—right now—he was needed. He was the steady thing. The one holding the world in place for someone else.

It scared him.

And it grounded him.

"You're doing great," he said, softer now. "Really."

Juvia turned her face slightly, though her eyes couldn't find him. "That's because you're here," she replied simply. "When Gray-sama is with Juvia… everything becomes possible."

She didn't say it like gratitude.

She said it like truth.

Gray's ears burned. He looked away quickly, heart racing for reasons he didn't yet have words for. He tightened his hold just enough to keep her steady, just enough to feel her warmth through the thin fabric of her dress.

"Don't go too fast," he muttered. "I'm still teaching you."

She laughed again, softer this time. "Then Juvia hopes you never stop."

They rode like that—slow, careful, wrapped in shared warmth against the cold—neither of them realizing what was quietly taking root.

Juvia didn't know that, to Gray, she was becoming something fragile and precious he wanted to protect without question.

And Gray didn't know that, to Juvia, he wasn't just guiding her hands—

He was becoming her vision.

Gray — POV :

The room was silent.

Too silent.

Gray lay on his back, one arm thrown over his eyes, staring into the darkness behind his eyelids. The cheap ceiling fan hummed above him, steady and dull, but his mind refused to settle.

He exhaled sharply.

Laugh.

It came back again—clear, bright, weightless.

Juvia's laugh.

He shifted onto his side, frowning at the wall. "Damn it…" he muttered, dragging a hand through his hair.

He had spent the whole day pretending he was unaffected, that teaching her to ride a bike was just another favor, another small kindness.

So why couldn't he stop replaying it?

The way her shoulders had loosened.

The way her smile had spread without restraint.

The way she had trusted him so completely, without seeing where they were going.

His chest tightened.

He hadn't planned to matter to anyone like that. Hadn't planned to be someone's balance, someone's anchor. And yet—when she leaned into him, when she laughed because he was there—

He felt… solid.

Important.

Needed.

That scared him more than anything else.

Gray rolled onto his back again, staring up at nothing. His fingers twitched, remembering the warmth of her hands beneath his own, the way her laugh had vibrated against him through the frame of the bike.

You're doing great, he had told her.

But the truth was quieter, heavier.

You're doing something to me.

He closed his eyes, breath uneven.

He didn't know when it had started—only that it was there now, growing silently, patiently. Something he hadn't invited, something he hadn't named.

Something that refused to leave him alone in the dark.

Juvia — POV :

Juvia sat on the edge of her bed, feet tucked beneath her, hands folded neatly in her lap.

The room smelled faintly of soap and winter air.

She tilted her head slightly, listening—not for sound, but for feeling. The echo of the day still lingered in her body: the sway, the wind against her face, the warmth behind her.

Gray-sama.

A soft smile curved her lips.

Today, she had flown.

Not because of the bicycle. Not because of the street or the motion.

But because of him.

When Gray-sama was there, the world changed. Fear softened. Uncertainty quieted. Everything sharp became gentle, everything unknown became safe.

Juvia pressed a hand lightly to her chest.

Before him, her world had been small. Careful. Measured in steps and voices and shadows she couldn't see. But with Gray-sama—

There were new sensations. New emotions. New colors she couldn't name but could feel.

Warmth. Lightness. Joy.

He didn't just guide her hands.

He guided her forward.

"Gray-sama is…" she whispered, testing the words aloud, then smiling when they settled right.

"…Juvia's gate of happiness."

The phrase didn't frighten her. It didn't feel heavy or desperate. It felt simple. Natural. Like a truth that had always been waiting for its name.

She lay back slowly, hands resting over her heart, replaying the sound of his voice, the steadiness of his presence, the way the world seemed wider when he was near.

She didn't know she was falling.

She only knew this:

When Gray-sama was with her, Juvia could see.

Notes:

I hope you like it..
