Chapter Text
Miss Darrow,
Central park. Tonight at six. If you wish to know more about a certain monstrous ape's vanishing, you will be there.
The letter wasn't signed. It was printed, as well, so there was no handwriting to identify the author.
She was ninety percent certain the letter meant Kong. It had to. That other ten percent told her it was just another attempt by Carl to get her to act for him.
Ann had kept her show dress from that night, and tonight, she wore it again. It was cold out, so she allowed herself a coat as well, but the sentiment gave her hope.
The park was empty, especially considering the time, but she brushed it off as just another effect of the weather.
Empty, of course, except for a lone man standing by a bench.
He spotted her.
"Miss Darrow?" He called from across the path.
"Yes." she answered. This was probably the author of that mysterious letter.
"You're here for the King?"
"Yes," she said again, a little more hopeful he meant King Kong.
"Come with me, then. I have your answers."
Hearing him talk for longer, she finally heard his strong British accent.
He gestured for her to come again, and, deciding she didn't have much to lose, she followed.
