Flambae, Prism, and Waterboy went on a mission, as usual. Everything seemed fine. But there’s always a calm before the raging storm…
Prism and Waterboy teamed up against a terrifying clown, with tricks up many sleeves! The man was tougher than he looked, and more slimy than an actual slug. No, the actual slug was several feet away.
Flambae was up against a Slugman with a metal battle-axe. He had things under control, but it was pretty difficult to fight. The Slugman only gained more power as the fight went on. Flambae had a theory about that- perhaps the axe was absorbing energy… All that aside, he could handle it.
But, just as the Slug man threw it at Flambae, Prism made a light copy of herself. The copy dashed over and tried to take the blow, but the axe was too strong. It shattered her instantly.
Flambae shot flurries of fire at it, and while the wooden handle burned- the axe did not. He used all his power to hold back the hurdling axe, but it was no use; it was far too late.
The Battleaxe tore apart his head, making a loud noise that was drowned out by Flambae’s horrifying scream. Blood splattered the floor, soaking his body, and splattering everyone around it.
“CHAD–!” Waterboy screamed, somehow louder than Flambae. He sobbed hard, as water flowed out of him and into the city. He rushed over to Chad and picked him up- giving him one last forehead kiss. “Chad, Chad, Chad…” He repeated desperately. Waterboy clenched onto Chad’s dead and somehow burning hot body, refusing to let go.
Prism weeped loudly as she fell onto her hands and knees. She let out a blood-curdling scream. She felt like she was suffocating. “Flambae,” The woman choked out brokenly.
Robert watched the whole thing, going paler by the second. His mouth fell agape and his eyes wide in shock. “Flambae, answer the comms.” A beat of silence. “Dammit!!” He roared. He punched the desk so hard that it broke.
The screaming got the room’s attention, as everyone looked up in concern… Galen stared at Robert knowingly. He felt his pain… heard it in his own ears. The man walked over to Robert placing a heavy hand on his shoulder. “Robert,” he said soothingly. He repeated his name, as Robert slowly calmed down; it took forever.
Swiftly, The Z-team’s voices rushed in. Concern, fear, and horror consumed everyone.
Punch up was the first to speak. “Woah, what happened??!”
“Yeah, what he said,” Coupe commented quietly.
“Did somebody die…?” Invisagal asked hesitantly. “Wait…” She went pale. And suddenly, she lost her voice.
Golem roared and Sonar cursed- until he transformed into a beast. Then the duo started destroying everything in sight.
“No, no no, no no,” Punch up quietly repeated. Flambae can’t be dead, he just can’t be!
Then it got eerily quiet; Time seemed to move painfully slow.
Suddenly, Malevola spoke up. She choked, and stutted, as Waterboy used to do. “What?” A long beat. “Flambae is dead????!!!”
At that, Waterboy loudly screamed again. Prism comforted him quietly- as if nothing else mattered. Because to Waterboy, no thing else did; No one else came close!
Everything seemed fine. But there’s always a calm before the raging storm…
