Chapter Text
The yellow, warm light reflected in the dimly lit living room as Sherry sat on the soft sofa, her eyes fixed intently on the television screen.
The male lead in the drama was walking forward against the wind. As the camera zoomed in for a close-up, his slightly rebellious yet arrogant demeanour carried the shadow of a certain someone.
"Hey... this male lead is actually pretty handsome."
Holding the Doberman pinscher plushie in her arms, Sherry murmured subconsciously.
What she didn't say out loud was that his expression and features looked a bit like a certain guy who always loved to bicker with her.
At that moment, Jake, who had just finished cooking dinner in the kitchen and was plating the dishes, suddenly froze.
He raised an eyebrow, looking displeased as he shifted his gaze to the man on the TV screen, before letting it fall back onto Sherry's captivated profile.
Handsome? That weak, fragile type?
An unaccountably sour feeling of jealousy welled up in his heart.
Jake let out a soft snort, set down the plate, and deliberately lightened his steps, quietly slipping behind the sofa.
Completely off guard, Sherry was still mentally comparing the actor to that real-life someone when a familiar deep voice suddenly pressed down near her ear, carrying a hint of dangerous raspiness.
"Sherry, look up."
"Hmm?"
Sherry subconsciously tilted her head back toward the sound.
Before her vision could even focus, Jake's handsome face magnified right in front of her.
The next second, a dominant and aggressive kiss fell without warning, firmly sealing away all her unspoken words.
Their cool lips met, blending with his unique, faint scent, instantly stealing her breath away.
Sherry's mind went completely blank, and her heart skipped a beat entirely.
It wasn't until she was about to lose her breath that Jake slowly and deliberately pulled back just a fraction of a distance.
He looked at Sherry's blushing face and dazed, watery eyes with leisure, a mischievous, successful smirk curling at the corner of his lips.
"Hey, now... which one is handsomer?"
Hearing this, the daze in Sherry's eyes gradually cleared. She arched an eyebrow, a flash of playfulness flitting through her gaze.
She simply braced herself up, kneeling on the soft sofa, and turned around to face him. Before Jake could react, Sherry had already taken the initiative, placing one hand precisely on his shoulder and pulling him down with force, bringing him right in front of her.
Immediately after, she leaned in. It wasn't a stealth attack with a hint of punishment like Jake's just now, but a deeply tender yet incredibly passionate kiss.
Their lips and teeth intertwined intimately, and their breathing became completely chaotic in the narrow space. It wasn't until both of their breaths were a bit unsteady that Sherry pulled back slightly.
She looked into those handsome, slightly widened eyes filled with astonishment, her own eyes and brows alight with the joy of a successful counter-attack.
"The handsomest one, of course, is you right in front of me."
