Chapter Text
The warlock's face is coated with bloodlust as he twirls his morningstars, one in each hand. The full moon illuminates his green, Orcan face, which has a magical, gray sigil for his god in the center of his forehead. He wears the typical garb for warlocks of his kind: a gray gi with maroon ribbons tied to his wrists and stark white pants. His voice takes on a growl as he speaks.
"My, my, my, what's a little lady like you doing out at night by herself? Especially one with Varkash himself as an enemy?"
I roll my eyes at that name. "Trying to catch a ride north, orc. You?"
"You know very well why I'm here, witch. To avenge lord Varkash, the great Mason of Madness, the--"
"Insane rock boy?" I finish for him for no other reason than to provoke him, just like I did with Varkash. I can't resist.
"YOU'LL TAKE THAT BACK!" the orc yells. He slams his morning stars into the ground, producing a line of spikes that I'm able to sidestep. The orc leaps in my direction, with both of his weapons primed to cave my skull in. I extend my leg and sweep him out of the air, and he lands on his side on the other side of the spikes. I take this as an opportunity to run. I hear a gruff yell behind me and look back just in time to duck under a large, rectangular slab of stone. In a split second, I pull some of the magic from the obsidian ring on my middle finger and shoot a stream of fire towards the orc.
Pretty soon, I hear cries of, "My eyes, my eyes!" and rush forward, not giving the orc, whose face is now charred, a chance to react before thrusting my dagger into its skull.
The body falls to the ground with my dagger. With much difficulty, I yank it out, but I stumble backward. I summon some water with my other ring, which is made of sapphire, and wash all the orc guts off my dagger. I dry it off and rush to the docks to catch the night boat to Kalva. Luckily, I'm right on time and get on just before the boat departs from the docks. I walk the halls of the inner cabins, trying to find my room so I can go to sleep. Finally, I spot my room and crash on the bed.
