Chapter Text
You could say it started in that interview, where Ryul said they were like Naruto and Sasuke. Really, Ohyul hadn't thought much of it at the time, I mean who would. But as his feelings began to grow he really couldn't help reading into these things.
There's something in searching desperately for a sign of something thats so far out of reach that'll really drive you crazy.
All because he saw some stupid clip. He'd been scrolling absentmindedly till he saw them. Naruto and Sasuke, kissing. Sure it was an accident but Ryul had seen the show. Maybe he hadn't thought of it when he'd compared them, though that did little to stop the adamant thumping in his chest.
He'd fallen asleep like that, tossing around till his sheets tied up his ankles, phone in hand, dreaming of that kiss. In his dream it felt almost real, only fuzzy at the edges and unbelievably warm. And it was only thanks to this dream that he was able to tolerate the coming days.
Turns out, sleeping uncovered in mid winter is a gateway to a sick week.
He'd woken up with a storming headache, one that made him turn into his bunk to push the light away as best he could. He let out a small groan before even thinking of moving and could feel the chill sliding down his back.
He absentmindedly thought that must mean a fever.
Luckily for Ohyul, it was their free week (mostly) so he wouldn't miss much. Unfortunately for him, that mean the younger members where free to mess around without any supervision and he could only pray for their dorms cleanliness.
By this point he was so caught up in his own thoughts (and discomfort) that he missed the telltale creak of his door opening. There had been a knock, two actually, but Ohyul had missed those too in his feverish haze. So when he rolled over again, he was startled by the figure where his blank door should have been.
"Hey, you feelin' alright?" Ryul asked in a gentle tone, one reserved for mornings like this, relaxed and slow. Ryul seemed to be processing the sight for a while, he too was sleep addled still. He took in Ohyuls flushed face and shivering hands before quickly moving in.
He pushed their foreheads together and Ohyul couldn't hide the gasp that left him then. Even so it was only a second before Ryul pulled back again. "You've got a fever. Stay here alright, don't move around too much.
Not like he was thinking of moving anyway, that was Ohyuls final thought before drifting back to sleep.
When he woke up again it was much brighter than it had been. The strain on his eyes was unbelievable. But now there was a cool press on his forehead helping a little with the fever, and a warm pressure on his hand.
As he craned his neck to get a better view the movement alerted something and the pressure was released. It was Ryul, Ohyul could see that now, his eyes adjusting to the light. Though he must still be a little delirious to think Ryul was holding his hand in his sleep, that'd be- well it'd be weird and unrealistic. "You sleep okay?" Ryul asked, again gently but sounding far more worried now. "I'm okay," he croaked, "just need some rest I think."
"Yeah, sure of course." But Ryul didn't move, jusy started looking around, eyes darting back to Ohyul every other second. He clearly had something to say but just fidgeted for a while. Eventually though he began, "have you, uh... do you want to eat first? Just, you'll feel better faster if you eat right?"
It hadn't exactly crossed his mind before now, honestly Ohyul just thought he'd sleep it off. But eating before he knocked out again was probably a decent enough plan. "Mhm, I could eat." He tried to keep his tone light but the crease between Ryuls brows deepened then. "Okay, wait here."
Briefly Ohyul considered that maybe it wasn't the best plan to leave any sort of cooking to the members, but the deep ache in his arms and the shivers still in his shoulders made the sweet call of his bed far too enticing to leave.
