Work Text:

Tired and exhausted.

It’s what Changbin’s feeling after a 15 hour long flight from New York to South Korea, all he wants to do is plop down into his bed and take a well deserved rest. Changbin, being the well principled man that he is, is stopping by the gym before he goes back home. He tried to get Chan to come with him, but even Chan himself was too tired to go to the gym. With all their upcoming schedules, Changbin has to keep with his routine. He has to make sure he’s in tip-top shape when he’s performing in front of their fans.

Sure he works out a lot for his fans and for himself, but Changbin has another reason to maintain his muscles. All for a special main vocalist, whom he knows has a thing for his muscles.

He doesn’t spend too much time in the gym. He gets his leg routine in and usually he would push himself to do a few more reps, but he’s feeling a bit more jetlagged than he thought he was. Before hitting the gym showers, because he knows that if decides to head home first before showering then he’ll be more likely to just hop into bed as a sweaty mess, Changbin takes a look at himself in the mirrors. He looks good and he knows that Seungmin will agree. So he snaps a few selfies and sends them to the younger with no other texts. Seungmin will enjoy them in the morning, just like how he did when Changbin sent him pictures of him in his Gov Ball outfit. He’s not expecting any response from Seungmin, the boys had landed back in Korea at 12:30 am, and now it’s currently 2 am, so he’s sure Seungmin is enjoying a wonderful slumber right now.

When Changbin gets home from the gym, he doesn’t bother to turn on any lights. He heads straight towards his room, letting his gym bag immediately hit the floor the second he steps foot in the room. He can’t even bother to open his eyes, that’s how tired he is. So he navigates his way towards his bed in the dark. Sensing that he’s close enough to his bed, he flops on top of it, but something about it is off. Especially, when a noise escapes from beneath him.

“Hyunggg…Get off of me.”

Changbin scoots himself off the body and switches on the lamp on his night stand. With visibility, he’s now able to see the human sized lump that’s underneath his cover. Pulling back the comforter, he’s met with the beautiful sight of a sleepy Seungmin in Changbin’s tshirt, specifically the t-rex and statue of liberty tshirt that Changbin knows Seungmin hates with a passion.

His first thought is to coo at how adorable the younger looks, but his second thought has him scrambling off his own bed. “Seungmin-ah, hyung didn’t know you were there. Did I hurt your ankle?”

Changbin gently grabs Seungmin's leg as he tries to examine it, but the younger attempts to pull it away from him, telling him that he wasn’t hurt at all. To no avail, it’s a useless attempt. Changbin’s too strong compared to Seungmin, so he takes his time to ensure that nothing has happened to his boyfriend’s leg. From his position on the floor, he’s looking up at Seungmin, the younger looking down at him, still rubbing away the sleep in his eyes. There’s something about this image of Seungmin that makes Changbin want to lock his doors and never let Seungmin out of his sight again.

The younger smacks at Changbin’s arm, something that he’s used to and he knows it’s not meant to hurt him, but rather Seungmin’s way of showing affection. As he makes another swing at Changbin, he grabs his arm mid swing. Getting up from his spot on the floor, his grip on Seungmin’s arm allows for Changbin to move him the way he wants. He pushes the younger back down onto his bed and hovers over him. He’s got the upper hand with Seungmin’s arm pinned against the bed. Seungmin’s looking up at him, giving him those big boba eyes that Changbin loves so much. He just can’t himself when he starts attacking Seungmin’s face with kisses.

Yet again, Seungmin tries to push away at Changbin, but Changbin knows that he’s enjoying every bit of this based on the giggles that escape his lips. Speaking of Seungmin’s lips, Changbin lands his final attack on them. What was meant to be a peck ended up a long passionate kiss that Seungmin has to force himself to break away from since he ran out of breath quickly from all the laughing.

Giving him one more peck on his nose, Changbin crashes next to Seungmin on his bed. Grabbing Seungmin’s hand, he presses a kiss on his hand, “I missed you. We all missed you, including the fans.”

Seungmin sighs, and turns around in the bed, facing his back towards Changbin. His response is muffled by Changbin’s pillow. Changbin knows Seungmin’s been feeling even more down about his hiatus these last few weeks ever since the announcement of his absence from Gov Ball. Him and the rest of the boys have done their best to keep his mood up, but they all understand what he’s going through. They themselves had a moment of hesitation when the company had informed them of his absence, but they knew they couldn't do anything about it.

Not having any of it, Changbin gently guides Seungmin’s body back to face towards him and smushes the taller boy’s face into his chest. Instantly, Seungmin nuzzles his face into his chest, while Changbin rests his chin on the top of his head. “You know it wasn’t the same without you. There’s nobody that can replace our amazing main vocalist.” He can feel the small smile on Seungmin’s face that presses against our face. “Actually take that back, I think I covered your part in S-Class pretty well.”

Moving his face away from Changbin, Seungmin makes sure the elder sees his eyeroll. “You’re not funny.”

“No, but I am yours.” His remark makes Seungmin’s face blush. Not wanting him to see the effect he has on him, Seungmin buries his face back into Changbin’s chest. It’s basically his second home at this point. No matter how long they’ve been together, Changbin’s sweet words will always make Seungmin’s heart skip a beat, even if he’s down in the dumps.

“I wanted to be there with you guys, but this stupid injury doesn’t allow me to do anything. All I do is go to vocal practice and then lay around at home. I couldn’t help, but watch all the videos of your guys’ performance and all that it made me do is want to perform.” Seungmin’s the type of man that likes to be productive, so it’s no surprise that being limited to certain things has been killing his mood. He’s one of the pillars of the groups, so Changbin knows that he feels bad for him and the others for not being able to participate in the performance with them. They were already pushing it when he performed with them at the fanmeet, but his injury had been a lot worse than they thought.

Seungmin had tried to tell everyone in the company that he was still capable of performing in New York. He didn’t let it show in front of others, but in the moments where Seungmin thought no one was looking he would wince in pain. And of course Changbin noticed, he always has his eyes on Seungmin, so Changbin had to beg him to not attend and to let himself heal. The younger had reluctantly agreed when everyone else had told him he needed to rest. He then made Changbin agree to carrying him around everywhere, as if he hadn't been doing that in the first place.

“Don’t worry puppy, once you’re all healed up, we’ll have you bouncing around the stage and belting out those wonderful notes in no time.” Changbin thinks Seungmin is the most beautiful when he’s singing on a stage. There’s just something about the way he glows when the younger is doing something that he loves.

“I want to be doing all that stuff now.” One might think that Seungmin may be acting a bit childish, since this is his health that they’re talking about, but once again, this is Seungmin. He will push himself to his limits before giving up, especially when it comes to performing.

“Patience puppy, we can’t have you hurting yourself even further. How about we go to the studio tomorrow and you can help me record a new song I wrote for you.” At the thought of being able to record something Seungmin’s eyes light up. The song in question is actually something that Changbin had come up with in his hotel in New York. His muse? Seungmin of course. The man runs through his mind 24/7. Changbin probably has 10 different unreleased songs that were inspired by Seungmin. Not that the younger man needs to know.

Seungmin makes Changbin promise to take him to the recording studio. The puppy-like boy gets restless when he’s away from the recording studio for long. Even if sometimes being in the recording studio gets Seungmin a little bit tense sometimes, but Changbin knows it’s a good way to bring up his boyfriend’s mood. Though he knows the odds of him having to wrestle his boyfriend out the studio will be high, it will all be worth it to bring some of that glow back to Seungmin’s face.

Seungmin makes it look easy with the way he brings joy to Changbin’s life, but there are small moments when Changbin questions if he brings joy to Seungmin’s. Moments that are quickly erased when the younger is near his vicinity and wags his imaginary tail.

“By the way, not that I’m not happy about it, but what were you doing in my bed in the first place? And why are you wearing this shirt that I know you hate?” Changbin asks. He really wasn’t expecting for Seungmin to be in his bed tonight. He usually likes to give Changbin a heads up when he visits. Seungmin’s response is muffled by Changbin’s shirt, so he lifts the younger's head up to make him look at him. Brushing away the hair in his eyes, he asks Seungmin to repeat his response.

“Because you left me alone for too long, and I missed you. And this shirt was the last one you wore before you left, so it smells the most like you.” Something like the sound of Changbin’s heart exploding sounds off in Changbin’s ears. Just when he couldn't think his boyfriend could get any cuter, he goes and says something like this. He will never understand how he was so lucky to get a boyfriend like Seungmin. He could just eat the younger up.

“You missed me huh?” Changbin starts, giving him his iconic smirk, “How much did you miss me?” He starts off by asking if he missed him as much as the distance between his index finger and thumb, then by showing a foot between his hands, and goes even further by spreading out his entire wingspan. He accidentally whacks Seungmin in the head as he does so, which rightfully earns him a smack in the arm, but that’s okay when he sees the grin on Seungmin’s face. The younger responds by telling he missed him from the moon and back.

He lets the younger know he can have everything in his closet, all his possessions, his car, his house. Whatever the man wants, Changbin will give him everything. Maybe not everything, because he’d be damned if he’ll ever let Seungmin leave him. “I promise you, if we ever have to leave you behind again, I’ll make sure to pack you up in my suitcase. That way we will never be apart ever again.”

Switching off the lamp, Seungmin cuddles back into Changbin getting ready to go back to sleep, “Good. I love you hyung.”

“I love you too, puppy.”

The couple lay in silence in the dark for a moment before Changbin breaks it. “So did you enjoy those selfies I sent you?”

He gets no response from the younger, so he assumes that he’s fallen back asleep, and right when Changbin himself is about to go to sleep he hears a faint whisper.

“Yes, hyung.”
