Clemmie, my dear child.

Summary:

Episode 1 of Rainbow Sisters, an original work by me and manatee! Focusing on the main character, Clementine!

Work Text:

Wade started cooking another meal, her stomach hurting more than usual, she never really thought about her health or mental health at all, caring more for others around her then herself. She ignored everything around her so much she didn't feel the taps on her shouler, and she didn't hear Shiro slowly walking over to her, footsteps silent as a dead person. "Wade.. " he whispered, trying to avoid more attention then they were already getting. "Wade." He whispered, more loud this time, but still getting nothing from her. "Wade!!" He finally yelled, drawing the attention of everyone in the room, including Wade. "Wade." He whispered, "your in fucking labor why the actual FUCK are you still here?!"

Clemetine skipped to work, although the cold, biting winds ruined what could've been a great day, well, her day was already fucked. She had to pay her bills, and she didn't have enough money, money was sacred, and she needed it, but couldn't have it, and so here she was, getting prepared to work overtime at the only job she could actually get, being a barista for some stupid, dirty, coffee shop 15 minutes away from her house, and she sold her car last week and so... Yeah. Great day, but.. She also woke up late, which means she only has 10 minutes to get there, Another problem which she hated. "Oh dear gods what have I ever done to deserve this?!" She mumbled, ignoring the passing stares, she didn't know what happened if you didn't pay the bills but she's not trying to find out, and anyways, she had a friend, who, had.. Unnatural hair. Hers was pink, and she was also a drug addict... Yeah, bad, but it was the best she could manage if it happened, she only hoped she would let her in..

She skipped into traffic.

She wasn't trying to, but it happened, and when she heard honks and angry yelling of drivers who were also late to work, she realized, "holy shit I'm in a street.. " her mind yelled, and instead of skipping, she ran before she became a pancake worse then the ones she made for breakfast that morning, she checked the time 07:43 am she didn't know why she used military time on her phone, but she just wanted to, it felt nice, and she was mostly just bored one day and it happened, she also could tease some of her coworkers about being smarter. She knew she was already late but at this time, it didn't matter to her anymore, she was always late, she hated being late because that means being yelled at by her boss who really need to get a new barber. Then the customers, god damn were they annoying.. Especially in the morning, or it was her just hating how her life turned out, but either way, she hated something.

She punched in without punching someone. It was a miracle, honestly. Especially since she was immediately put to work, and her first customer, yay! Was an annoying karen. Great. Just great. She couldn't help but to think about all the terrible choices that led her here, if she got fired... She looked at the date, April 15th, she was ready to start crying. She wanted to be a kid again, curled up in her bed, not worrying about if she'll have a home in the next week. sigh childhood was heaven.

the end of her shift was approaching. And she hadn't committed war crimes, that's good at least, but boy. She. Was. On. The. Verge. Of. Exploding. From one customer to another, to another, to another, to another, to-

She blacked out. She didn't know what happened, but suddenly there were yells and screams of anger. When she focused, she saw a customer on the floor, a bloody nose, she looked at her knuckles, bloody. Had she..? But no she would never... But how would she prove she wouldn't? There was no way. But she had. But she hadn't. What had she done? Why. Why her? She thought she could handle a few more hours.. But her boss, Shiro Evans.. He wouldn't. He wouldn't hear her out. He'd just fire her. All this work for nothing. 11 hours of annoying customers and hard work for nothing. She was going to end up jobless and broke, and eventually be homeless. She ran out, trying to escape the reality of what would happen to her, but there was no escaping this. She could go to jail for it.. If only she had siblings.. Siblings that could guide her, but she had been told that all of her siblings died at birth, and that she was the only one left. She didn't care if she got hit by an oncoming car anymore, her life was ruined. "why me.. Why me.. Why did I do that?!" She muttered to herself, absolutely devastated. She reached her home fairly quickly, opening her laptop, she braced herself for the inevitable, but no emails.. Maybe she should call Shiro.. And so she did. "hello? She muttered, unable to raise her voice. " Clementine." A deeper, hoarse voice responded, it was like thunder rolling through. "sir, I swear, I promise i-" "Save it. Your hereby fired from Hearts of Coffee. " and he hung up. There was a moment of silence between Clementine and her room before she broke it, sobs tearing it's way out of her. She needed to find Jalajaa. Now. Taking a deep breath, and dusting herself off, she packed up and ran to Jalajaa's. Which wasn't much better, but it was enough. She knocked, and the door open, familiar pink hair and crazy eyes of the same hue gazed into her auburn eyes. "Clemi!!, how great to see you again!"
