Work Text:

“Dude, I think I’m in love with you.” The words are out before there’s a chance to stop them. Oliver looks up from his SAT prep book and raises an eyebrow.
“Oh really?” I laugh.
“Yeah. I mean think about it – you’re my favorite person in the world. You’re the only one I want to take on vacation. I let you ride on my Vespa and play in my bowling alley. You’re the first person I tell everything to. I think about you all the time, your hair, your eyes, your, um other bits.” I stop feeling a blush rising. Oliver smirks.
“My other bits?”
“Shut up.” He chuckles as he shifts on the couch, dislodging my feet where they had been resting on his lap. I would complain but now he’s facing me straight on and I decide it’s okay.
“So, why are you telling me this?” He props an elbow on the back of the couch, resting his head on his hand. I have to stop myself from reaching out and brushing his hair back from where it falls in front of his eyes.
“Weren’t you listening? You’re the first person I tell everything to.” He smiles again and my heart does a little flip – it’s amazing it took me this long to figure it out.
“So, are you going to do something about the whole being in love with me thing or are you just telling me for fun?” I narrow my eyes and really study his face, trying to decipher just how into the idea of doing something about it he is. From the way he keeps glancing at my lips I’d say he’s very into it. So I decide to do something about it. Slowly I lean in, giving him plenty of time to back away, and press my lips to his. It isn’t magical or full of sparks or anything. It’s better – it feels like coming home at the end of the day and being exactly where I’m supposed to be. It feels safe and sweet and just like Oliver. It also only lasts a few seconds before he pulls away, leaning his forehead on mine.
“Hey, Coop?”
“Uh huh?”
“I think I love you.” I smile and push him backwards on the couch, knocking his SAT prep book to floor as I attack his lips again. And again. And again. I lose track of time as we make out on the couch. It isn’t until there’s a throat clearing above us that we finally pull apart. I look up to see Katie standing, arms crossed, behind the couch.
“Hey, Mrs. Otto.” I flash a blinding smile and I can tell she’s fighting a smile of her own for once.
“Boys.” Oliver groans underneath me.
“Mom, not now.”
“This is my house. I’ll do whatever I want whenever I want.”
“Mom.”
“Oliver, you owe me a cruise. I’m thinking Bahamas.” The smile breaks loose as Oliver groans even louder, covering his face with his hands.
“I can take you on a cruise Mrs. Otto!” Katie laughs at me.
“Don’t encourage her.” Oliver mutters. I look down at him and can’t help myself from placing another gentle kiss on his nose.
“You’re cute when you’re flustered.” I whisper. Oliver turns a lovely shade of pink and I can hear Katie cooing above us.
“Ah, young love. So sweet. So cute. So not happening on my couch. Move it boys, up and out of here.” She shoos us off the couch. Oliver grabs my hand and drags me towards his bedroom.
“Door open Oliver!” Katie shouts at us as we head up the stairs. We make it to Oliver’s room and he closes the door behind us.
“But Mom said –“ I start to protest until Oliver backs me into the door, kissing down the side of my neck.
“I don’t really care right now.” I can only whimper in agreement. And then suddenly the door is pushed open, sending both Oliver and me stumbling further into the room.
“Oliver, Mom said you have to take me to get ice cream.” Anna-Kat stops and narrows her eyes at us. I can feel myself squirming under her gaze. “What are you two doing?” Oliver steps forward, pushing his little sister out of the room.
“Nothing. Now go away.”
“But Mom said-“
“Anna-Kat just leave us alone.” Oliver is trying to shut the door when Anna-Kat throws her body between the door and the wall.
“Are you two finally together? Were you making out?! Ewwww.” She’s giggling despite her protests and Oliver is trying very hard to push her backwards. I can’t help but smile.
“Hey, Anna-Kat,” I speak up and they both pause, looking up at me. “Wolfgang makes the most amazing ice creams – any flavor you could possibly want. If we take you to my estate to get ice cream will you leave us alone?” Anna-Kat thinks for a moment before a smile breaks out on her face.
“Can I hang out in your arcade?”
“Sure.”
“Can I bring Franklin?”
“Of course!”
"Can I bring Addy?"
"Sure."
"Can I bring Jessica?"
"I guess."
“Can I bring Sophie?”
“Umm.”
“Coop she’s just going to keep adding people until you say no. She doesn't even know a Jessica.” Oliver has one hand on his sister’s head still and one pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Oh. Well how about just Franklin?”
“Deal.” Anna-Kat smiles and stands up, causing Oliver to stumble. I reach out to catch him.
“I’ll meet you in the car.” Anna-Kat leaves the room and I step up to Oliver.
“Next time we start at your place.” Oliver grabs my hand and we start down the stairs, shouting our goodbyes as we leave the house.
