Summary:

Here, you'll find small doses of pain woven together with a love that never stops overflowing.
Every story bears a wound of its own—some may leave you with solace, others with tears lingering long after the final word.
Most of them, inevitably, will be Gruvia.
So if you don't mind a few cracks in your heart, you're welcome to stay. 💙🌧️
COMPLETED.
AS PER REQUESTS.

Notes:

Among all my stories, one truth remains impossible to hide:
My heart has always belonged to Gruvia.❤️
And perhaps that's why I find myself returning, again and again, to the beauty of sorrow—the stories that hurt, heal, and leave their mark on the soul.
So I've decided to dedicate this page to those occasional heartbreaks, the kind that arrive softly and settle deep within the heart.💔
Some of them will be pure angst and tragedy—stories that may leave behind a lingering ache, or even a small scar upon the heart.
If you enjoy stories that leave a tender pain long after the final line...
If you cherish those quiet wounds that somehow become unforgettable memories...
Then stay close.
You may find a home for your heart here. 💙🌧️

Chapter Text

1

The room was silent.

Too silent.

The kind of silence that only came after someone who had always filled the space was suddenly gone.

The guild hall had finally emptied hours ago. The condolences had stopped. The tears of others had dried.

But not his.

Not really.

Gray sat alone in his apartment with a small blue notebook resting on his lap.

It wasn't magical.

It wasn't important.

It wasn't even meant for him.

At least, he didn't think it was.

Until Levy had found it among Juvia's belongings.

"I think... these were for you."

That was all she had said.

Now it was nearly midnight.

And Gray was staring at the first page.

His hands trembled.

He almost couldn't open it.

Because opening it meant hearing her voice again.

And hearing her voice meant remembering she was gone.

Forever.

Slowly, he turned the page.

---

Dear Gray-sama,

Today you skipped lunch again.

Juvia noticed.

You thought nobody did.

You looked annoyed when Natsu stole food from your plate, but Juvia saw you smiling afterward.

Only a little.

Three seconds, maybe four.

Juvia counted.

Four seconds.

It was a good day.

---

Gray's throat tightened.

A small laugh escaped him.

Broken.

Weak.

Four seconds.

She had counted that?

His fingers brushed the paper.

And for the first time, he realized how carefully the handwriting curved across every line.

Like she had taken her time.

Like every word mattered.

He turned the page.

---

Dear Gray-sama,

Today you looked tired.

You kept rubbing your shoulder.

The injury from last month still hurts, doesn't it?

Juvia wanted to ask.

But you always say you're fine.

So Juvia made extra soup.

You ate all of it.

That made Juvia happy.

Please take better care of yourself.

If you get hurt, Juvia's heart hurts too.

---

Gray closed his eyes.

The memory hit immediately.

The soup.

He remembered it.

He remembered complaining that she had made too much.

Remembered her laughing.

Remembered eating every drop anyway.

At the time, it had felt ordinary.

Now it felt priceless.

Because there would never be another bowl.

Never another laugh.

Never another chance to tell her thank you.

His vision blurred.

He kept reading.

---

Dear Gray-sama,

Today you smiled seven times.

Juvia knows because she counted.

Three were because of Erza.

One was because of Happy falling off a chair.

Two were because of Natsu being stupid.

The last one...

The last one happened when Juvia handed you your scarf.

Juvia thinks that one was her favorite.

---

A tear landed on the page.

Then another.

Gray quickly wiped them away.

As if he could somehow protect the paper from his grief.

His chest hurt.

God.

How much had she noticed?

How much had he missed?

---

Dear Gray-sama,

Sometimes Juvia worries.

Not about monsters.

Not about missions.

Not even about dying.

Juvia worries that one day you will fall in love.

And it won't be with her.

Juvia tells herself she would be happy if you were happy.

But when she imagines it...

Her heart hurts a little.

Maybe that makes Juvia selfish.

---

Gray's breathing stopped.

His fingers clenched around the notebook.

Because she had written those words years after joining Fairy Tail.

Years after fighting beside him.

Years after loving him.

And somehow she had still been afraid.

Afraid she wasn't enough.

Afraid she would lose him.

A sharp pain tore through his chest.

Because she had never understood.

Never truly understood.

She had already become the center of his world long before either of them found the courage to say it aloud.

---

The next pages grew more personal.

More vulnerable.

More painful.

Each one stripping away pieces of her heart and leaving them behind in ink.

---

Dear Gray-sama,

Today you fell asleep during the train ride.

Your head almost hit the window.

Juvia moved closer so it landed on her shoulder instead.

You never woke up.

Juvia hopes you slept well.

---

Dear Gray-sama,

Today you laughed.

A real laugh.

Not a small one.

Juvia thinks it might be her favorite sound in the world.

Please don't stop laughing.

---

Dear Gray-sama,

Juvia wonders if there will ever be a day when she can stand beside you without feeling nervous.

Probably not.

You still make her heart race.

---

Gray pressed a hand over his mouth.

A strangled sound escaped him.

Half sob.

Half laugh.

His shoulders began shaking.

The notebook blurred completely.

Because every page proved the same thing.

Juvia had loved him in a thousand tiny ways he had never seen.

While he had been looking for grand gestures.

Confessions.

Big moments.

She had been loving him every single day.

In the quiet spaces.

The unnoticed moments.

The ordinary seconds.

---

Near the end, the handwriting changed.

It became shakier.

The dates closer together.

These had been written shortly before her final mission.

The mission she never returned from.

Gray's heart pounded.

He turned the page.

---

Dear Gray-sama,

Juvia has a strange feeling lately.

Maybe it's nothing.

Maybe she's being dramatic.

Levy would probably say so.

But if something ever happens...

Juvia hopes you keep smiling.

Juvia hopes you keep living.

And most importantly...

Juvia hopes you never blame yourself.

---

His vision shattered.

A sob escaped before he could stop it.

Because of course.

Of course even here.

Even facing her own fear.

She had been worrying about him.

Not herself.

Him.

---

His hands trembled violently as he reached the final page.

The last letter.

The last words she had ever written.

---

Dear Gray-sama,

If you're reading this, then Juvia probably wasn't brave enough to give these letters to you herself.

That sounds like something Juvia would do.

There is one thing Juvia wants to tell you.

Just once.

Without jokes.

Without embarrassment.

Without running away.

Thank you.

For changing her life.

For making rainy days feel warm.

For teaching her that being loved might not be impossible.

Juvia spent so many years believing she was a burden.

Then she met you.

And suddenly the world felt brighter.

If Juvia could choose her life again...

She would still choose every moment that led her to you.

Every single one.

Goodnight, Gray-sama.

And please...

Be happy.

For both of us.

---

Gray stared at the page.

For a long time, he didn't move.

Didn't breathe.

Didn't blink.

The room felt impossibly empty.

Because there would be no next letter.

No next page.

No next tomorrow.

Just this.

The end.

His tears fell freely now.

Silent.

Endless.

For years, everyone had called him strong.

Cold.

Unbreakable.

But alone in the darkness, holding the pieces of a heart that had loved him more faithfully than he ever deserved...

Gray finally broke.

He pressed the notebook against his chest.

As if holding it tightly enough could somehow bring her back.

It didn't.

Nothing could.

And that was the cruelest part.

Not that Juvia had loved him.

Not that she had written hundreds of letters.

Not even that she was gone.

The cruelest part was discovering that his greatest love story had been written page by page...

And he had read it only after the author was no longer there to hear his answer.

That night, Gray cried until sunrise.

And when the first light touched the window, one final tear slipped down his face as he whispered to the empty room:

"I loved you too, Juvia."

But for the first time in his life...

There was no one left to hear it.
