Work Text:

Mariana has a date. It’s Imani. Imani could have another case, and Mariana probably won’t tell me, so I am doing the only rational thing, spying on them.

For the first half an hour they are watching a movie and drinking Red and white wine. The movie seems to be about a man that John has mentioned before, I think his name was Michael Jackson. It is quite loud and has a lot of flashing lights, so I understand why I haven’t seen him before. The movie is quite boring so I end up dozing off, probably shouldn’t have stayed up all night researching the Spider, or what I could find of him.

By the time I wake up I am greeted by Mariana yelling “Spill the tea!” Spill the tea? SPILL THE TEA?  Why would Mariana want tea just to spill it? My curiosity gets the best of me and I spring up from behind the couch to see Mariana and Imani holding tea!
“AH SHERLOCK!!” Mariana yells. “What are you doing here? I’m on a date!”

“Hmm yes indeed, a date where you recreate the Boston Tea Party by ‘Spilling the Tea’?” I reply.

“No? Sherlock that’s an expr-” Mariana says before I interrupt her.

“you are holding tea and saying ‘Spill the tea’ It is quite clear that you are wanting to recreate the Boston Tea Party, and if you don’t know what that is, I am surprised you don’t because it was the darkest day in modern UK history, on the sixteenth of December 1773, American patriots dumped 342 chest of black tea from British boats was dumped into Boston harbor as they were protesting the tax on tea, they were disguised as indigenous Americans, the Tea that was dumped in the harbor was worth 2200000 pounds in todays money, this then caused the American revolution, to which we then lost, so I would Frain from using the term “Spill the Tea” If you want to keep living in the UK!” I say storming out of the flat, after being interrupted multiple time by Imani and Mariana.

Just then I hear Watson and Archie enter the flat after their day out in Swindon, but the first thing he says to me, “Sherlock, why the fuck did you give Mariana and Imani a full run down on the events of the Boston tea party, when they said spill the tea? It’s an expression meaning  ‘spill the gossip’,” Watson said taking of Archies Lead.

“Oh, it was about Gossip… ohhh…….. Are you wearing my shirt?” I ask looking down at Watson for the first time since he arrived back.

“Erm well, all my shirts were dirty!” He says sitting down.

“You are a manchild Watson….. Je t'aime tellement,” I mumble walking into my room.

“What did you say?” John called out as I closed the door.

“I said you look like a sack of shit!” I yelled out picking up my gun.

“Hahha very funny! Fuck you mate!” John yells back before walking into something and apparently stubbing his toe as he yells out "Ow my toe" in a very annoyed tone.
