It seems Hyuna has miscalculated.
The thing about Mizi is that she’s really, really adorable. Big doe eyes with sweetly blinking lashes; long, smooth hair that flows like water. A sunny disposition and a wide, ditzy smile. What a girl.
The sort of girl that makes one want to protect; the sort of girl that makes one want to tease.
Which is precisely what Hyuna is doing. Hey, she’s not immune to that sort of cute girl charm, okay? Sue her. Mizi blinks up at her with those big, chartreuse eyes where Hyuna has crowded her into the wall. Like this, Hyuna has to tip her head down to see her.
“Cute girl like you all alone,” Hyuna grins. “You come here often?”
Here being, of course, the staircase; going up to the upper years classrooms. Mizi’s probably on her way to see Sua. School’s over, and the place is deserted, and sometimes, a girl just wants to tease her cute junior, right?
Hyuna is just about to step back and lift her hands, apologize for her teasing and perhaps poke at Mizi’s flushed cheeks, when she notices the way Mizi’s gaze sweeps around as if seeing if the coast is clear; when she notices that Mizi doesn’t look flustered at all. Not even a little bit: teint even an face really rather flat, like Hyuna’s never seen before.
Hyuna’s mouth goes a little dry, all of a sudden, her heart skipping a beat.
“Hush, unnie,” Mizi says, hand closing around Hyuna’s wrist. There’s no way that Mizi is that strong, it must be the fact she’s caught by surprise, but Mizi yanks her and spins them around like they’re dancing, until it’s Hyuna’s shoulder blades slamming into the wall. “You should be more careful.”
Mizi is shorter than Hyuna by quite a bit. She has to go on her very tiptoes, huffing out a small breath with the movement, to crowd into Hyuna, but it still feels like crowding, right there in Hyuna’s ribcage and between her parted lips.
Mizi blinks wide, curious eyes and claws her hands loosely into Hyuna’s yellow shirt for balance. It looks so dull next to the brilliance of those eyes; eyes that finally, finally narrow in a smile, but this one is all different. Mischievous, nothing left of ditzy innocence, nothing at all.
“Or you’ll be eaten up!”
Hyuna’s heart is hammering; Hyuna’s face is the one burning as she blinks in stunned, flustered silence. Caught vulnerable while trying to catch someone else…!
Mizi laughs like she usually does, lifting back down, smacking her hand to Hyuna’s arm. “Your face,” she giggles. “I won’t do it, I promise! I won’t eat you!”
Startles a laugh out of Hyuna, too; Mizi steps back, and finally, she can breathe again. Shakes her head and rubs at her face and laughs while Mizi continues giggling. “Sorry, sorry!” Mizi says, already halfway up the stairs. “I just had to!”
And then she’s gone.
What a girl, indeed…!
