Work Text:
"The strawberry cake is sliced, the tea is served and we are finally on our own." Charles Augustus Milverton listed it to his secretary, Ruskin, who watched his employer with eyes sparkling from the awe. "I think we can finally start what we reserved for tonight." He noted, playfully winking at Ruskin, making his heart faster from that wink.
"Yes, sir." Ruskin responded with love while he was bursting from the happiness inside. Tonight, Mr. Milverton wanted to discuss their further evil plans, fantasizing about the upcoming ruination together. Ruskin thought that his life was content ever since Mr. Milverton let him take part in the plotting which showed the greatest form of trust and how strong the bond between them became through the years. His evil deeds were a special fun for Mr. Milverton, but he shared them with Ruskin, listening to his advice if he had one. Ruskin always got enthusiastic when his employer announced that they will hold another night to celebrate their evil. He prepared cake and tea, and his heart was pounding like this sacred ritual was a date.
A date night just for the two of them.
Ruskin leaned closer to Mr. Milverton while he began to talk. He tried to listen to him attentively, but it was not easy when his employer allowed this form of intimacy. Ruskin just wanted to disappear in Mr. Milverton's warmth and sink to the softness of his voice while he was giving his speech. He inhaled the scent of the beloved man, his head dropped to his shoulder. Mr. Milverton didn't mind it, he kept eating the cake and brainstormed the next evil plan. Ruskin thought that their position would be the same if they were a couple and Mr. Milverton was chatting about something else. But he needed to admit that while he could imagine their relationship, he couldn't see that Mr. Milverton ever stops enjoying corrupting the innocent. Not like Ruskin was bothered by it. He loved Mr. Milverton the way he was and he didn't want him to change. At all.
"What do you think about this, Ruskin?"
His employer's voice made Ruskin realize that he should have really paid some attention to Mr. Milverton's speech, not just to his body. He felt guilt over being disrespectful. He raised his head to properly apologize.
"I am sorry, sir... but I'm afraid that I couldn't follow you through." He said pitifully. Mr. Milverton didn't get angry. Ruskin got distracted by his joy so many times during their date night, that he already got used to explaining his speech again. And he had no problem with it.
"It's fine." Mr. Milverton replied and his eyes playfully shone up. "I will go over it again. You can lay back your head where it was." He added. "I found it comfortable."
Ruskin started blushing for the offer. He obediently laid his head back onto Mr. Milverton's shoulder while Mr. Milverton restarted his thought process. Ruskin tried to pay attention this time, but it was so hard to do it. After what Mr. Milverton asked him to cuddley he truly felt like on a date night.
