Egg and Yungy sat alone at the edge of the lake, the rest of their group consisting of Wemmbu, Jaden, and Cod where somewhere behind them chatting to one another.
The slow ripples of the water bounced Egg's fishing rod around. The only sound coming from the water crashing against the cold stone, the sounds of far off wardens, and the murmuring of their friends some distance away.
Yungy had his head in his hands, his eyes tired as they looked out at the water. Their mandibles clicked together as thoughts rolled though his head.
He was exhausted, running for hours in heavy armor from people who want him dead. With people who never stop arguing with him. "Void below.." Yungy whispered.
The king should have pulled him out by now. He was a loyal guard after all, this must be a mistake that he was here. Well. That's what he keeps saying to himself.
Egg looked over at him or where he thought Yungy was, it was honestly to dark for his eye to see anything at all in such a dark place other than the shining of enchanted weapons and armor. Even his golden halos where barely any help down here as their light seemed to be snuffed out.
His wings twitched as he listened to the soft uneven breathing of the spider hybrid. "You good dude?" Egg asked, a soft whisper barely audible over the noisy water.
Yungy lifted his head, answering in a soft hiss "yeah, I'll be fine." He shifted, pulling his knees close and resting his head atop them. His beanie falling down his face.
The angel sighed, extending a wing out and around Yungy. The feathers giving off a soft comforting warmth.
He set his fishing rod to the side and reached out to pull up the spiders hat. "You look tired. You should rest, there shouldn't be any trouble for awhile." He stated. It sounded like an order, but Yungy knew it was more of an invitation into Egg's comfort.
The spider clicked his teeth, but didn't deny the angels offer of course. He knew Egg was right so he scooted closer, resting his head on Egg's shoulder. He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding and closed his eyes.
Egg adjusted his wings and leaned his head over and laid it on top of Yungy's. He could feel the spider relax, his tensed shoulders slumped and his breathing evened out.
"I love you" Yungy whispered, only for Egg to hear.
The angel smiled, and whispered back to Yungy "I love you too."
