Chapter Text
Kirby woke up, feeling playful as ever. He wanted to hang out with his best friend, Ren. So he did what he usually would do on a day like this.
Knock Knock.
Ren awoke and looked outside his window. It was pitch black. What time was it? He then looked at his phone. 3:32AM.
Knock Knock.
“Who is knocking on my door this late at night?”
Ren sighed, put on his glasses, and opened the door.
Nobody was there. Ren was visibly annoyed, thinking that somebody just ding dong ditched him. After sighing (this time more annoyed than his last sigh thirty two seconds ago), he began to close the door.
“Haiii!”, a familiar voice chimed.
“Wait a damn minute,” Ren thought, “That’s…”
Ren turned around and opened the door fully, looked down, and saw a familiar pink puffball.
“Kirby, do you have any idea what ffff…. freaking time it is?” Ren asked.
“Yes I do!” Kirby responded, “Also thank you for not dropping the ‘f-bomb’, mama Rosalina told us to watch our language to keep in line with Ultimate’s age rating.”
“What do you even want?” Ren asked.
“To play!” Kirby responded.
“Play what exactly?” Ren replied, “I’m not fighting you until I have my full eight hours.”
“I wanna play in mama’s lab!” the pink puffball said.
“Do you remember what happened the last time we fucked around?”
“LANGUAGE!”
“Yes mother.” Ren replied.
————————
Ten minutes later, the duo was in Rosalina’s laboratory. Ren was walking through carefully, while Kirby was running around wanting to see everything Rosalina had ever since his last visit ten days ago.
Suddenly, a photo booth caught his eye.
“Ren, look at this!” Kirby shouted
“Shut up Kirby.” Ren responded, “We’re gonna get caught you dumbass.”
Ren came over to Kirby, and the two stood next to each other and stared at the photo booth.
Just then, a door opened, and a tall, female figure in a nightgown came in yawning. It was Rosalina.
Ren spotted her before he was spotted. His eyes widening, “Kirby, quick! Into the photo booth!”
The two ran in and bumped the side, causing it to make a loud Bang.
Rosalina gave off a confused look to herself, then armed herself with her wand and carefully walked over to the photo booth.
She gave off a motherly smile, since she had a feeling that Kirby snuck in again.
She quickly created a Launch Star and launched toward the photo booth, and once she got there, she opened the curtain.
Joker and Kirby were caught red handed by the mother of the cosmos. Rosalina, sighed, crossed her arms, and began another lecture.
“Please name your desired reality.” an automated voice said.
“Zero!” Kirby said, having absolutely no idea what he was doing.
Rosalina grabbed the curtain again, with a face of shock and surprise.
“Oh shh-.”
Blip.
Rosalina, Kirby, and Joker disappeared from the laboratory.

“Alright everyone! Who can tell me the speed of light?” Mya asked her students.
About half the students raised their hands.
“Hmm, how about Toya!”
“Oh!” Toya said, as he was drawing something, “767 miles an hour?”
“Nope!” Mya said, “That’s the speed of sound.”
Another kid raised her hand.
“Mei?”
“186,000 miles an hour?”
“You got it!” Mya said, as she threw a piece of candy toward Mei’s desk.
Suddenly, Mya got a quick, sharp headache. She waited until her students were busy doing a worksheet, and discreetly looked out the window to see three figures fall from the air.
————————
Mya quietly gasped, grabbed her suitcase, quickly changed into her hero costume, and used her grappling hook to travel faster to reach the three people.
A crowd formed around the trio.
Ren got up dazed and a little injured, “Owww,” he groaned, “I think I cracked my ass.”
“Isn’t it supposed to be, though?” Rosalina questioned.
“Not what I meant.”
“I don’t think we’re in Ultimate anymore.” Kirby said.
“Where are we?” Rosalina asked
“Not the metaverse,” Ren replied, “If we were, then my clothes would have changed.”
“Are you all alright!?” a voice said, as the crowd moved out of her way as she ran towards the trio, “Don’t worry, I’m a hero!”
“Yeah!” Rosalina responded, “Though we don’t know where we are.”
“You are in New Mega City,” Mya stated, “the center of every single reality. Just by looking at you all, you three originate from different realities.
“How did you know?” Ren asked.
Mya pointed at both Ren and Rosalina, “For starters, you and the boy have two separate art styles,” then she looked at Kirby, “And I don’t even need to look at this pink puffball to see that he’s definitely not human. It’s not rocket science.”
“Wahhh? I’m totally human!” Kirby wailed.
Mya crouched down and patted Kirby’s head.
“Oh, wow, he’s squishy.” she thought to herself.
She stood up and looked up at Rosalina, “You all are probably wondering how to get home, right?”
“Yes,” she said firmly, “As much as I’d like to stay, we have our own things in the Ultimate universe we need to get back to.”
Mya nodded, “We need to see Kye. They’ll know what to do.
