Work Text:
Bill and Colin left the New York office with matching grins. They'd pulled off the impossible yet again, saving a family and millions of New Yorkers. Bill could think of no one else he'd walk into danger with than his boyfriend. He's not used to hearing that he's Colin's boyfriend in his head. They had just said who they were to each other a week ago. The thought took him back to when he first kissed Colin.
His first kiss with Colin was last month. He had a big fight with Katie about not being around anymore. He was bruised and broke after getting beat up in that hotel basement. That (along with the fighting) caused him to almost lose consciousness. He sat on the wood floor, and called the first person that came to mind. Colin.
Colin was in his apartment in record time— he probably went way above the speed limit— to take him to the hospital. Before Bill got into the car, he kissed him. Since then, all he's wanted to do was kiss him.
Bill turned as they made their way through the mirrored hallway. “Would you like to come over tonight?”
Colin paused. “Yeah sure, have a couple beers, it'll be fun.” He kept it casual. But Bill saw the small smile on his face. He knew that he was beaming inside— dying to be back in his arms.
“Yeah there's an Islanders vs. Devils game tonight. See you at seven?” They both know that was not what they'd be doing. This was just to make sure nobody knew (for sure) they were breaking every HR rule the CIA had. Although there was an actual game that night— Bill had done his research. What can I say? It's the lawyer in me.
“Yeah, see you mate.” Colin winks at him and chuckles.
Bill nodded down at him just in case he was blushing.
Colin couldn't stand his apartment when it was just him, and no one else. Nothing to see, but the same four walls. The silence was deafening when Bill's not around. Can't it be 7:00 already! Bloody hell!
He thought the only thing that could pass the time was cleaning. So there he was cleaning until his arms were screaming, and the kitchen island was glistening. The clock had finally— finally ticked to show 6:45.
He took the stairs down two at a time, and leaped into his car. He knew the way to Bill's apartment without giving the directions a second thought. He could probably make his way around the place blindfolded! In no time at all, he was standing at Bill's door.
The door opened before he could knock.
Bill waited at the door for five minutes because he knew Colin liked to be right on time (if not late). He saw Colin come in through the peep hole, and opened the door for him.
“Hi.” He could hear Colin's breathlessness in his voice. He probably ran up his apartment stairs. Bill chuckles and shakes his head. What a guy.
“Hi, did you run the stairs again?”
“Yes.”
“Don't you get enough exercise at work?”
“I wouldn’t mind some more.” Colin says, with a wink.
He kisses him. And uses Colin's shirt collar to pull him into his apartment. After a few minutes of making out on the couch, Bill pulls away. He had this thing on his mind for a while now, and wanted to share it with his boyfriend.
“You know what could be cool?”
“What are you thinking about, love?”
“We should look up our star signs.”
Colin never believed in astrology and fate. He always just lived life his way. Regardless of whether spirits were pulling the strings from above. He could hear in Bill's voice how much he wanted to do this. He quickly put his beliefs away, and agreed with him.
“Yeah sure, love. Might be fun.” Colin gave him a smile. He was instantly rewarded with Bill beaming back at him. Bill did a drum roll with his hands like he usually does when he's excited. Colin still can't get over how cute it is. He loves when Bill's comfortable enough to stim when Colin’s around. It shows that Bill’s mask is off, and Colin can’t help but remove his own. To just be Colin Glass— Bill Goodman’s boyfriend.
Bill pulled out his phone, and sat beside him resting his head on Colin's chest. Colin casually wraps his arm around him. With the other arm, he’s winding one hand into Bill’s ginger curls. He showered before Colin came over— so his curls could shine after being tamed with hair gel all day.
Bill pulled up the Zodiac Sign Chart, and found he’s a Libra. He'd known Colin’s birthday before this— because Gina told him when she visited him in the hospital last month. She must have seen the chemistry they had, and couldn’t help but play matchmaker.
Bill turned to Colin. “It says you’re a Gemini, and I’m a Libra.”
“What does that mean— wait, how did you know my birthday?”
“A magician never reveals their secrets, babe!” He wants to keep Colin guessing as long as possible. Kissing him, Bill got back to work researching.
“Gemini’s are adaptable, intelligent, social butterflies. They are extroverts that have contrasting traits. Meaning they could be playful and outgoing one moment, and reserved the next.” Colin doesn't read it for himself; he'd rather let his boyfriend's voice occupy his mind.
“That’s… pretty accurate.” Okay, that has to be a coincidence right?
“I told you it would be cool! Now it’s my turn.” Bill paused to type in Libra personality traits, and read the results.
“Libra’s are known to be emotionally balanced. They are diplomatic, tactful and objective. They thrive in social settings (like Gemini’s), and love viewing relationship dynamics between people.”
How the stars can describe them so accurately is almost scary. But Colin also admitted to himself that he agreed with Bill. It was cool, even if Colin felt like he was being criticised a little. “Yep, that sounds like you, love!” Colin kissed the top of his head.
“Gemini and Libra men make an incredibly dynamic and intellectually stimulating match. They both appreciate mental sparring, and elegance. Meaning, they are on the same intellectual playing field. They both have a love of going to social events, hosting parties, and engaging with diverse people. They have a mutual respect for personal space giving each other room to breathe.”
“How is this so accurate?” Colin was dumbfounded and almost speechless. There was a word for this that he was not ready to even think about yet.
It's too soon! We just called each other boyfriends last week!
“It's like we're soulmates.” And there it was! Bill had beat him to the punch. Well at least I don't have to worry about whether it was too soon.
“Yeah, I guess it does make us soulmates.”
“I love you.”
“I love you, too.” Bill kisses him. They don't stop until they fall asleep in each other's arms.
