Hi, I love this novel and I’ve read it multiple times and yet it’s still very confusing to keep track of all the little aspects of it. I’ve read it once back when the comic was in the middle of the frogmen village arc and read the rest of the novel after that. Of course neither the comic nor the novel was finished then. I came back a few years later to finish it and am very disappointed by the lack of fan content for such an amazing story, hence this work now. Also wiki editors, please don’t take offense to this wikis just do not like my device for some reason. Feel free to take any of this content to put into the wiki!
Due to how little content we have I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands and compile as much information as I can into this work. This is VERY unfinished currently and lacks a LOT of stuff and refinement but that’s not the point.
This fic exists to make it easier for fans and authors to write and read fics. And just anyone interested in the fandom to have an easy way to understand it. I recommend using the full page index (click on chapter index and it should pop up) to navigate this fic! Of course the chapters will be named according to the information they provide as well.
Some things to note:
- Due to the sheer number of characters in the novel, I’ve divided them up into multiple categories. If a character started out as a Avartin mortal and later became a god/constellation then they will still be in the ‘mortals’ section. I’ve also divided the gods into the two sections; ‘New Gods’ and ‘Old Gods & Evil Gods’ due to the amount of them. (I will also not be making a seperate category for constellations. I will simply mark on the character profiles their status)
- Both the novel and the comic have many translation errors and or inconsistencies. I have given up on figuring out what gender Eldar is by this point. I will be making note of every inconsistency in name, gender, and anything else throughout this that I can reasonably pick out. I also have no idea if where I read the comic and novel of TNC on were legit websites though so please keep in mind that might be why my translations were iffy.
- I will be referring to most if not all the characters and names using the novel terms (Ex. I will use ‘Jang-Wan’ over Zhangwan or ’Lunda’ over Runda. Or ‘Small Area’ over Phyllus). This is simply easier as many of the characters I will be referencing have not yet appeared in the comic and thus have no comic translated counterpart. I will of course be noting down both the novel and comic terms for those interested.
- I honestly started skimming around the middle to end of the novel because I find it really hard to reread stories. There will absolutely be mistakes because of this so I’m sorry
- There aren’t many labeled right now but some sentences have (Ch.###) at the end. This will mark where what I’ve written can be found in the novel/comic. If it says (nCh.###) it is referring to the novel chapter, if it’s (cCh.###) it is from the comic chapter. (NOTE! Some sentences are just facts I researched myself/and or inference. Usually it will be obvious what’s a researched fact- such as what Chistka’s name means seeing as it’s a real word -but others may be more confusing. I’m sorry I haven’t labeled everything but this is a huge project for just one person who isn’t even working on this full time. Please bear with me)
