Your fantasies of being with Natsu in spirit was always something you never took seriously. As much as you missed Fairy Tail whether it’d be reading or watching it, the series was already over so you gave it a rest and ultimately moved on. After all, you knew that wasn’t possible.
Not only that but you loved NaLu way too much to try and step in. Therefore, you couldn’t just take Natsu for yourself. Yet, it somehow… happened?!
You decided to take a quick afternoon nap and after knocking out, it was into the fluffy dream clouds you go. Metaphorically speaking, of course. You really just started dreaming and had this really specific dream. It was about the necklace you always wore having magical energy in it all of a sudden and it was able to harbor you as a wandering spirit.
At the same time, Natsu was gifted the exact same necklace by Lucy while on their 100 year quest and thought nothing of it. Very hyperspecific but it was a dream, there’s no way it would happen. That was until your consciousness started to get dragged out of your body while you slept.
As for Natsu, well, things were about to get weird for him and Happy. As Team Natsu took a break from their previous dragon hunt, Natsu decided to fall asleep after eating a few pieces of meat that they all found and cooked — Happy as well, naturally.
While the two of them were napping, they both started dreaming at the very same time you were dreaming. Like red strings being stitched together, Natsu and Happy both dreamed about getting a necklace from Lucy that had an abundance of magical energy in it. They would, in turn, protect this necklace with their life and the girl inside of it while they try to save another world from impending destruction.
It was a strange dream but nonetheless, they simply ignored it and kept sleeping. I mean, it’s just a dream, right? There’s no way it’d happen. That was where they were wrong. This time, instead of their consciousness getting pulled out of their bodies, both Natsu and Happy started floating together while sleeping.
Wendy was the first one to notice they were floating and rushed in. She grabbed both Natsu’s feet and called out to Carla to grab Happy’s paws quickly. “Carla, you need to grab Happy! They’re flying away!” Wendy puts one foot behind her and the other in front of her to keep her steady.
Carla, on the other hand, didn’t believe Wendy at first. But after seeing for herself, she got up and grabbed Happy’s paws quickly with her aera magic. “What do you mean, child? Happy is…” Carla flapped her wings the best she could and turned to look at Wendy.
“My word… What is this magic?”
“I don’t know! Lucy, Erza, Gray! We need your help! Natsu and Happy are flying away… WAAH!”
“WENDY NO, HANG IN THERE!”
The fight to pull Natsu and Happy down to the ground was hard and the rest of Team Natsu had yet to notice. It took a while but Lucy and Erza eventually noticed as well. Once they turned around after hearing the commotion, they ran over to Wendy and Carla to help.
“Natsu! Happy! Don’t worry, we got you guys!”
“Wendy, Carla, do you two know who or what’s doing this to Natsu and Happy?!”
“I have no idea!”
“We haven’t the slightest clue!”
“What the hell?! Are those two flying away?!” And then came Gray who was hurrying over to Carla’s side to grab her and Happy.
Wendy, Carla, Erza and Lucy all turned to look at Gray with a smile on their faces and happily exclaimed his name in unison. “Gray!”
Gray looked at Natsu and Happy’s bodies as they shone the same color as the moon that night. Both Natsu and Happy were shining white. He then looked at the girls as they all started floating alongside Natsu and Happy. “Uh guys… I don’t think this is working!”
Unfortunately, despite holding each other down, it wasn’t working at all. The moment they reached a certain point in the sky above the clouds, they all fell to the ground and both Natsu and Happy’s bodies vanished into thin air just as they were beginning to wake up. It was like you, Natsu and Happy were all synced together because you all woke up in another world and it was the same world you all dreamed of. Although, you guys were in the skies and not in the actual world itself. Not yet anyway.
You woke up first with a splitting headache and for a while, you thought everything was normal. That was until you looked down and saw that you looked like how you did in your mother’s womb. That’s right, you were in your birthday suit and you also looked translucent. Wait a minute, if that was the case then would Natsu and Happy not see you? You had to wait and see.
Natsu and Happy eventually woke up and they both had reactions of their own. First, their eyes both widened out of disbelief. Second, they both looked at each other and then finally, they both looked at you. And the look they were giving you felt almost expecting? Like they thought you knew what happened to them and like hell you did.
“For some reason…” You whispered to yourself as you turned away from them slowly out of embarrassment. “Now I feel how Lucy felt during that one episode.”
Natsu and Happy only got closer the more you tried to make the gap bigger between you three. And eventually, they were at every angle which made your body uncomfortably warm for some reason.
Actually no, you knew that was because of Natsu’s fire. You could only assume either that’s his body heat or he’s mad and summoned some flames. Thankfully, he’s docile right now so that was just his body heat.
“Hey, are you okay, lady? You’re really red,” Happy pointed at how red your skin looked and if you had a third eye, you’d probably be able to see it.
You turned to look down at Happy while blinking a few times. “I’m… red?”
“Yeah, Happy’s right. You’re pretty red right now,” Natsu tapped your skin and it only got hotter the more he touched it.
Both Natsu and Happy looked at each other for a moment before Happy sweat dropped.
“Actually, I think I know who’s making you red.”
“It’s not me, is it Happy?”
“Of course it’s you because of your body heat!”
“Well I’m sorry for being this way! What, do you want me to turn myself off or somethin’?!”
Good ol’ Natsu and Happy. You felt a laugh slip from your lips and the both of them turned to look at you mid argument. They both said in unison, “What’s so funny?!” and you just shook your head before they went back to arguing. For now, you wouldn’t mention anything yet because you didn’t want to spoil the mood.
