Ever since Caine came back from deletion, and Jax abstracted, everyone’s been rebuilding, doing stuff they wanted. Caine had the world’s open, for everyone to come and go as they please. Sure, the circus members we see today aren’t real, being brain scanned copies of them, but they’re having a much more comfortable time than ever. Way better than the whole ‘organized adventure’ thing. The torture and horror. The pain. But now, it’s all over.
But.. Caine’s still adjusting.
The lil guy has decided not to float everywhere all the time, instead to be ground level with the other circus members. It gives a kinda toned down feeling, showing that Caine truly has decided to not dictate a schedule and is becoming friends with the others. He’s a lot less intense, but still has his cute lil ringmaster attitude. It’s in his programming! But Caine definitely has gotten better with the controlling stuff. It’s behind him.
Sometimes, Caine finds himself wandering the stage, even being found doodling on the wood. Theres a corner backstage somewhere with drawings of bees all over the walls.
Speaking of bees, the circus members grew to learn of his love for them, and got him bee stuff for Christmas one year. He was so happy, he glitched out a bit. Zooble never lets him live it down. But honestly, it was cute.
Gangle had taught the members how to play DnD, and had been playing with them. Pomni was a Rouge. Ragatha was a Cleric. Zooble was a Druid. Kinger was a Warlock. Caine was a Bard. And Gangle was the Dungeon Master, obviously. Gangle had made a fond joke that Jax would’ve been a Barbarian due to his past obsession with violence. Caine liked the joke. Caine liked DnD with his friends.
Occasionally, Caine spoke with Moon at night, when everyone was asleep. They talked about things. Just.. things about Caine’s day, and how Moon was feeling. Nice talks amongst affectionate friends.
Honestly, this was.. kinda paradise. Sure, bad things still happened, but they were minor inconveniences now!
Like, one time, in the Candy Kingdom world, Pomni got tangled up with Gangle after Gummigoo’s mates, Chad and Max, accidentally knocked them into a canyon of syrup. Those two poor guys were apologizing for hours!
Surely nothing unexpected could happen here! Nothing at all!
But near the stage, an aura surrounds it. A strange sensation that makes the air feel.. cold.
