Pokemon Legends: Apocalypse

Summary:

Pokemon Legends: Apocalypse. The aftermath of the stories of the current Pokemon Legends game and the next big story to come.
The story so far is only the aftermath of Rei's story (Legends Arceus Hisui), so It's still a giant work in progress and I'm planning on combining all three games into one story. Any ideas would be awesome!
Rei has just beaten Arceus. The final scene of the game, but not this time. Rei's story does not end here. No, Arceus has many more plans for the best Pokémon trainer known to mankind... After all, someone has to stop not only Volo, but the many other apocalypses that will befall Arceus' domain. It is up to Rei now, what he will do. Now join me, in a story where we delve into the possibilties that such an idea will take the Pokémon world!

Notes:

Hisui (Rei):
Age: 16 (One year after the events of Legends Arceus)

Personality:

Extremely cautious in perspective to wild Pokémon knowing full well all the capabilities that every Pokémon known to him can do, seeing all Pokémon that is not his own as a threat and a test. Having lived in such wild and hostile environments with both Pokémon and Humans (Especially before he had a grip to the world he was in and started settling with life). Cares for his own Pokémon very much, having gone through everything from expulsion from his home to meeting and beating God with them. He trusts, treasures and relies on his Pokémon above everything else.

He knows the Hisuian Pokédex out of his head, knowing every single Pokémon including everything from the preferences of berries to how to battle them if they come forth as foes to exact size (as he is one of the two founders of the first ever Pokédex).

Is extremely adept in battle, knowing exactly what to do in situations he is familiar with. He follows instinct above everything in battle, using what he has learned in Hisui to dominate battle with his battle-trained and ready Pokémon. The one-part where Rei struggles in battle is when it comes to gimmicks. Gimmicks such as Trick Room or Terastlization are phenomenon completely alien to him, not something fixed in his way of battle in Hisui. In situations in which such gimmicks come to play, he always puts the focus on learning what such things are before the battle itself, as he has no idea how to deal with such changes to the battle. The only exception being a certain gimmick he obtains from Arceus himself, and the form changes of Dialga, Palkia and the mirror for the genies.

His social interaction is withheld, as the only beings he truly has trusted and had normal interaction with being Professor Laventon, Akari, Cylenne, the Diamond and Pearl clan leaders, Gods (God Pokémon) and Volo (Who betrayed him on Mount Coronet). Despite his Altruistic values, Rei never really trusted the townsfolk despite helping them, remembering the way they shunned him from the start when he needed help most. Using that experience, he has implemented a sort of withheld way of speaking to others, not trusting ever until after seeing who they truly are as a person.

Rei almost never uses his legendary Pokémon, out of respect for them as fragments of deities of the entire Pokémon World. He only uses the Legendary Pokémon when necessary, first consulting them if he may (which he of course always is, but it doesn't sit well with him). The only times he considers using them is to fix the apocalypse at hand, of when he or others he treasures are truly in trouble. Yet not having them used much in battle, he is as adept at using these Pokémon as any other he wields. He hides the Legendary Pokémon he has, not willing to be seen as a target and seeing his duty as something of the utmost secrecy, along with his story and everything he has gone through. If he used his power too often and shared his stories and abilities with others, he fears his days of having a normal life having fun while hopping between space and time will be gone as he will be pulled into one conflict after the other. He prefers to choose his own battles.

Work Text:

Story of Pokémon Legends:

Section 0:

The area is as if it is in an empty void, but with a faint red glow from under as if signaling sunset. A domain, beyond human and perhaps otherworldly comprehension. There, alone on a see-through blue platform, stands a white and gold horse figure with this radiant glow and a boy in blue clothing, a red scarf, a satchel and a red cap. The boy has striking black hair and eyes as dark as the void that surrounds them.

‘Have... I done it, Sinnoh?’ asked the boy.

‘Hail, thou hast completed thy final trial.’ Sinnoh responded in a booming voice.

Section 1:

I stood there, completely sweating from the experience I had just gone through. My heart was racing. My arm was dead from throwing Origin Balms at literal God. My legs were ready to collapse at a moment's notice from dodging attacks beyond my wildest nightmares. Even my back has this enormous wound from the battle. And after all that, my mind was still racing with thoughts. What will happen now? What did I just do? How? These are examples of such thoughts. However, these were questions that could be answered later. There was one specific question that needed to be answered.

‘Have... I done it, Sinnoh?’ I asked.

‘Hail, thou hast completed thy final trial.’ My opponent responded in a booming voice. ‘In sooth, I did believe thou wouldst fail at the first attempt. I stood prepared to grant thee trials without number, yet thou hast amazed me. My felicitations.’

I laughed. ‘If that was the case, you should've told me sooner.’

I collapsed on the ground, exhausted from a very long battle. With the little energy I have, I grabbed my Pokéballs to check on my fainted Pokémon, even though I knew of their current state. Having fought a fragment of Sinnoh must have been tiring and scary enough, but we did it without having a single Pokémon faint.

‘Typhlosion, Sylveon, Garchomp, Gallade, Zoroark and of course Dialga. I thank you.’ I whisper towards the Pokéballs.

'Tis passing strange thou didst not wish to bring Palkia, Giratina, other forces of nature, or even thy Goodra,’ remarked Sinnoh, ‘they too would have proved worthy adversaries against me, for they are shards or entire representations of their own divinities—save for Goodra, who standeth as a mighty foe in its own right.’

‘Bringing Goodra would ruin type composition for the team, and anyway after Volo he really needed a break. Both Goodra and Dialga were both Dragon-Steel type, so they were the perfect swap.’ I explained. ‘As... for the legendries. Aside from Dialga who, as you know, saved me, I haven't had much time to work with them in battle due to the Professor spending a lot of time researching them for the Pokédex. It wasn't like I was going to bring Giratina with me all the time, not while he hasn't accepted me yet despite me catching a fragment of him.’

‘And as thou wert suddenly bidden to ascend a stair most ominous to meet with Sinnoh, thou hadst no choice but to yield and make thee ready. I do understand.’ Sinnoh reassured me.’

I laid there on the ground before Sinnoh, the almighty being who called me from another world to save this one. Even while I was still exhausted beyond repair, I had many questions about pretty much everything. From the space-time rift, to Volo, to the reason I was brought in first place. And yet, I was tired. Too tired to get my brain to formulate a few simple questions. I started to feel cold. It seemed like I was starting to lose consciousness, so in a last-ditch effort I asked the one question I was dying to say the most, pun intended.

‘Hey, Sinnoh. I might not make it. Could you, maybe, send a message to someone in Jubilife to take care of my Pokémon?’ I pleaded to Sinnoh. ‘I know I sorta passed the trail... And all... But I might have failed you after all. Try Akari or the Professor; they will take good care of them, please...’

Sinnoh walked towards me, looking down at my body. Watching blood dripping from my back from the wound that he had caused in the trial. He started to change into his glowing orb form, although I really don't know why. Everything faded black.

‘Truly, Rei? I shall not suffer thee to perish here.’

An overwhelming wave of adrenaline rushed through my veins. I suddenly opened my eyes, overwhelmed with energy. My arms felt like it was part of my body again, my legs could move again and most importantly my back seems to have lost its injury. My hands no longer laid limply next to the Pokéballs I grabbed, but holding on to them once again. I put my team back into my satchel.

I pushed myself up, looking at myself in amazement. I was glowing faintly in a goldish color, with the source of it seeming to come from my chest. Light around the area surged into the source, as if it was a magnetic pull. Making it grow larger by the second. Then, it stopped surging when the entire area was black. The only light source left was the faint glow of the platform. Sinnoh had disappeared.

My clothes had changed from the usual Survey Corps Uniform into some sort of silk white flexible full body armor with golden patterns and a cape of pure gold. On the top left of my torso was the insignia of Arceus, a cross-like wheel with gaps in the top and bottom.

I looked around, trying to find out what happened, when Sinnoh in horse form appeared again in front of me. However, my chest started glowing again and started to pull towards Sinnoh.

‘Forsooth, that vexeth me somewhat. Pray, let me quench that light.’ Sinnoh remarked.

I stopped being part of Sinnoh's gravitational field and the glow from my chest disappeared.

‘Now, Rei. Hark, I give thee joy. Thou art now made immortal.’ Sinnoh declared. ‘And gave thee my clothing with insignia.’

‘Uh, what-’ I tripped over my words trying to find out what, how and why this just happened. ‘Wait. So, is this the aftermath of the trial? Am I immortal now? Like, immortal to everything? Age, attacks, and whatever?’

‘Thou hast completed thy trial. And for that, I bestow upon thee a fraction of mine own self; 'tis a part of thee now. Whilst I am with thee, thou art immortal to age, and only that. Likewise, shalt thou gain abilities which common mortals cannot wield, unnatural strength, Pokémon speech, healing, and the key to unlock mine own truest form thy can obtain.’ Sinnoh answered. ‘Thy Pokémon shall become nobles and gain the ability to power up tremendously via thee.’

‘Uh, what. Oh. So you are with me now, or something like that. Ok, that's... Interesting. What are these abilities you mean, and what is the key to your true form?’ I puzzled.

‘Forsooth, I did forget to say about my true form, did I not? Hark, what thou beholdest now is not my proper shape. I am everywhere and nowhere all at once; fragments of me do fashion the world wherein we dwell. Yet, large fragments of me do form a single, vast, connected consciousness of that being thou knowest as Sinnoh. Large fragments too become Pokémon, e'en as the one thou gazest upon e'en now, likewise called Sinnoh. In sooth, I am not one being, but many at once, that govern all this world. Dost thou understand?’ explained Sinnoh.

My brain was getting fuzzy from the vast amount of information I was getting. This was getting a bit much, but I could luckily still follow.

‘Then there's the key to you, and the abilities. What's up with those?’ I asked. ‘And, also, why give me such things?’

‘Thou hast completed the trial; 'tis thy reward. Apart from this, there is a matter I would have thee undertake for me, a matter of great import. For that, thou shalt most assuredly require these abilities. Now, the key. Perchance there be one trial more I would have thee complete, for a greater prize.’ answered Sinnoh.

I only got more questions the longer I asked for answers. At this rate, my brain will probably explode.

‘Then I suppose my next question will answer why I really get these abilities.’ And finally I asked the question Sinnoh was probably waiting for: ‘What is it that I must do, Sinnoh?’

This time, the answer came from inside my brain, as if Sinnoh was a part of me... somehow. ‘The cataclysm thou hast amended is but one of many that hath befallen this realm, though perchance it is the greatest yet, being a direct assault upon mine own self. There be creatures in my domain that covet its mastery, to become a Godish being, or what they see me as. There be beings that would unleash worldwide calamities for their own selfish needs. So many other problems do occur throughout my realm that challenge the world I have wrought. I cannot be the one to mend them, for that would be interference. Therefore, I nurture beings—often humans, yet not always—to grow strong and puissant enough to halt apocalypse. With my guidance, though they often know it not, they are led to stay the coming disaster. Yet there are moments in time and space where those capable of halting the disaster are unable to aid, or where none exist in the present age. Or where they have already failed their mission. In such hours, I would have thee be the savior of the realm, the most mighty Pokémon trainer in all time and space. Thou shalt watch over disasters from afar, and if there remain none able to stop impending doom, thou shalt preserve my domain. You shall be my representative of this world’

That explained why I was brought to this world, that's good to know. But still, he didn't answer me. What is the key? And my abilities?

‘I can read thy mind, thou knowest," said Sinnoh. "In truth, I did think thou wouldst ask what manner of reward I would bestow for staying disasters, given the task. My next words would have revealed what those rewards should be.’

‘Who do you take me to be? ’I challenged. ‘I’m not Volo, who would have asked you to become his servant the moment he laid eyes on you. That, or chuck a Pokéball at you.’

‘Concerning Volo, he shall like be the cause of many apocalypses to come, seeking to fish me from what he calleth his 'Hidey Hole.' Thou shalt meet him far oftener than thou dost suppose. He shall prove thy greatest troublemaker, e'en above such Pokémon disasters as Eternatus.’

‘What is Eternatus? Oh, never mind. I’ll probably find out eventually. But weren't you going to tell me what you meant but abilities and keys earlier? You're leaving me hanging here.’

‘Ah, yes. My fault.’ Sinnoh apologized. ‘However, for mending disasters, thou shalt gain more fragments of myself, which thou mayst merge with thine own Sinnoh Pokémon that thou art soon to obtain, as one thy prizes for completing the trial and thwarting Volo and his schemes. The Sinnoh Pokémon thou art to receive is even now the strongest base form Pokémon that doth exist, yet with new perils arising in my realm that strengthens other forces of nature, thou mayst require more than that alone. Thou already hast thine own forces of nature and their abilities, or as thou namest them, legendries. But to forge one all-powerful Pokémon capable of facing them all, thou wilt need to make the fragment of me thou gainest more mighty, by merging fragments and something else. To do so, thou shalt need the key: The Legends Plate. The Plate needed to merge all the others. Could thou obtain thine Arc Phone and thine Plates?’

I, very confused and overwhelmed by information, grabbed my Arc Phone and the Sinnoh Plates from my satchel. The Arc Phone started glowing and levitating, just like when I first got it. Strands of light came out of the phone, attaching themselves to all the plates and me. It absorbed the plates and another plate that came out of Sinnoh. All I could see was that there was some sort of star on it before it too got absorbed. Then, right out of the phone shot out a plate in colors of white and gold. It fell into my hands.

‘Lo, Rei, that is the fusion of all the plates thou knowest, and the Legends plate. The Legends plate thou didst behold was the cause this fraction of me could shift types midst battle. Yet, with the glaring weakness it bore, as thou didst discover in combat, fusing all the Plates of the original sorts with the Legends Plate maketh a new type, one that doth resist all types and is most potent against all. 'Tis called the Origin type.’ Sinnoh explained.

‘So... You add this plate to a Sinnoh Fragment, and it pretty much becomes an Origin type?’ I inquired.

‘Indeed," answered Sinnoh. "And mark thee, 'tis called the Origin Plate.’

‘Figures. And... You said I was about to get my own fragment of Sinnoh, right?’ I inquired further.

‘Correct.’ Answered Sinnoh.

‘Is this then somehow also the key to obtaining your true form?’ I asked. ‘Like, obtaining more fragments of you makes it and you stronger?’

‘So thou hast puzzled it out. My congratulations," applauded Sinnoh. "Aye, and it doth make thee stronger too, Rei.’

This was still a bit much for me, and I was starting to believe that this was some sort of weird hallucination. And yet, I am standing here after that hefty battle, which means this is either true or I already died.

‘Wait... How does this plate make me stronger? This is meant for the Sinnoh fragment, I thought.’ I asked.

‘Rei, thou didst ask what I meant by abilities. Didst thou not? Well, hark: with that Origin plate in thy keeping, thou canst also heal Pokémon without those Potions thou usest, and speak the tongue of Deity Pokémon. Rejoice, for that maketh thee the first of mortal kind to do such things. Oh, and that Origin plate is also a fragment of me.’ Sinnoh explained. ‘Thy Origin Plate is also the source of thy Pokémon power-up, directly from my own power.

‘Ok, back to the ‘collecting fragments of you’ part. How do I collect Sinnoh fragments?’ I asked

‘With thine Origin Plate, said Origin Plate shall absorb fragments on contact. Once thine Origine plate is used on thine fragment of Arceus, all thou fragments of me currently in thine possession shall merge into one mighty being. The more, the stronger. Also remember, mine fragments type changes too into Origin Type.’ Sinnoh reminded me.

This was enough information for one day; I seriously couldn't take it anymore. I wondered how I would get back to Jubilife from the platform, as the staircase leading up to it had disappeared.

"Very well, I deem 'tis time thou shouldst return. Thou comprehends the circumstance now; that sufficed more than enough. We shall meet again shortly. I shall transport thee back to thy bed in Jubilife, for thou appears too weary to descend the mountain." Sinnoh did declare.

‘Very well, until next time Sinnoh.' I answered.

Sinnoh opened a portal to my house in Jubilife. Before I stepped through, I heard something from behind me.

"Rei, there is one thing more I would fain discuss, if thou hast the spirit for it," said Sinnoh.

‘Very well, Sinnoh.’ I replied.

It was silent for a solid minute, before Sinnoh talked again.

‘From this hour forth, I shall ever be with thee, for thou hast gained immortality from me. I have given thee thy charge and spoken of what is to come. Yet, there is one thing more I would have thee do for me,’ Sinnoh did impart.

‘What is it you wish, Sinnoh?’ I asked.

‘I would have thee, even with this task, walk free and live thine own life, though it be immortal. Chain not thyself unto this charge, for 'tis thy life to walk.’

‘I have bestowed thee a part of myself. I would walk this world together with thee, show me how it appeareth in thine eyes.’

I smiled at Sinnoh, happy with this. I was allowed to walk freely and live my life however I pleased. The only thing Sinnoh wished in return is that I save the world when needed, and to show him the world he has worked for.

‘Very well, Sinnoh. I shall.’

I stepped through the portal once more before I heard something behind me again.

‘And Rei,’ said Sinnoh suddenly, not from inside my head but from his own voice.

I look back at the horse-like form standing in the middle of the platform.

‘Call me Arceus.’

Section 2:

It was already evening. After a very long rest, I woke up still in my Sinnoh- oh I mean in my Arceus clothing looking like I just came back from wrestling with that Alpha Tangrowth by the Crimson Mirelands. I looked around, worried that someone would see me in these clothes, but no one was there. I was alone in my room.

The Arc Phone was making some noise; that was probably the reason I woke up in the first place. I picked it up to see why it was beeping.

‘Well done, my child.
You have collected one of every Pokémon, just as I had commanded.’

‘I find myself impressed by you.
So I offer a part of myself to you...
Take it, and let it serve as a sign of our meeting.’

‘May you continue to go to all corners of this world to see all there is to see...
and to meet all the Pokémon that await you there.’

So, it really happened. Hold on, so where is that fragment, or should I say Pokémon? Immediately a Gold and White Pokéball on the windowsill catches my eye. I grab it, checking it out in my hand. It's much smoother than the apicorn Pokéballs that the Supply Corps make, almost as if it's made of a different material. It feels much more like the Origin Ball, but much smoother. And of course, a different color to match... Arceus... I might have realized what is in this Pokéball. I had to check it out later, but I can't really release him in my room; he would probably destroy the roof if he popped up now.

'Twas passing rude, Rei. For thy knowledge, I may alter mine own stature.

I jolted from shock. There was suddenly a voice in my head, as if someone were sending thoughts directly. After a moment, I realized that this was Arceus.

‘Thou knowest already I may speak to thee through thought's conveyance. Prithee, be not amazed, Rei. By the by, doth my message please thee? I did think thou wouldst read it before thou slept, yet thou didst collapse upon thy bed ere it was sent.’ said Arceus in my mind.

‘Yeah, Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised. Although, out of experience with how it went when Dialga, Palkia and Giratina were all talking in my head at the same time, I will have to ask not to do it often. I asked them to use Telepathy only if there was something important that they had to tell me, could you do the same?’ I asked.

‘Darest thou ask that of me?’

‘Yeah, I am sorry about it though. My brain can't take much of it for long periods. I hear this long beep constantly if telepathy is open too long.’ I apologized.

‘How camest thou by this knowledge?’ Arceus inquired.

‘Experience.’ I answered.

To be honest, I never found a Pokémon that could talk in my head aside from Gardevoir and Gallade, although even they did it sparingly. Not the deities, however. It seemed to be their primary method of communication, at least when communicating with humans.

‘From now on, if there is something you wish me to do or anything you want to say to me that is not urgent, please do so via the Arc Phone. I promise to check regularly.’ I pleaded.

‘Very well, I shall. Thou dost need to live thine own life, in sooth. I shall instead dispatch the tidings by the Arc Phone. Yet, if thou wishest to commune with me through thought, I prithee, simply ask it in thy head,’ Arceus replied.

‘Oh, and please do so in the modern language, if possible.’ I asked.

‘Very well, but I need to learn it anew, having been so long absent. I shall but mark thy speech and follow it.’ Arceus replied.

I changed my clothes from the White and Gold Arceus clothes to my spare survey corps clothing, put on my slippers, satchel and cap, checked if I had everything on me before heading to the door. However, when my clothes were removed, they seemed to fade away.

Arceus seemed to have already answered my question for me before I could state it. ‘You can always put the armor back on by tapping the top left of your torso, where your clothes will immediately turn into my battle-’

‘REI WHERE IN THE NAME OF SINNOH ARE YOU?’

A deafening shout rang through the entire village. I could hear commotion from outside the door. Many voices rushed past my abode towards the voice coming from the front gate. Slightly worried about my future self, I headed outside. I looked to my left, seeing a large group of villagers grouping around a Survey Corps member, a girl around my age. She seemed to be frantically asking around the group around her about someone's current location. That someone being me. Pushing through the group, I headed towards the scurrying girl.

‘Akari, I’m already here. Hey, HEY. I'm HERE. AKARI.’ I called out.

Akari turned around. Seeing my face, I could see her white panic-stricken face turn into a bright red flush of embarrassment. After that, her emotions turned from embarrassment to frustration.

‘Rei, you could have said something you know. I have been searching through the entire Highlands for your sorry corpse. I thought you were dead, although that's not a first.’ Akari remarked.

I stumbled back, a bit hurt from Akari's abnormally harsh words. After looking at Akari staring daggers at me, I looked behind her to a voice coming from the front gate.

‘Oh, come now Akari. At this point, you should know that Rei should be fine. If there's a wild Pokémon that can give Rei a hard time, then he wouldn't be the only one in danger considering it would most likely affect the entire region.’

Professor Laventon walked in from the gate, holding a Burmy by its branch.

‘Rei, Rei, come look at this. This Burmy-, or whatever it is, it's weird. Look, look! It's skin, or whatever it is- it's blue, not black. It's so weird, I would love to check it out. Do you have any more of these species in the stables? I wonder what the other types of Burmy would look like with this mutation.’ The professor inquired.

‘Oh please, professor. How do you know it's a different species in the first place?’ I asked. ‘This is my take: not every different variation of Burmy can be considered different. If you are going to differ from plant cloak Burmy's by the different leaves contained within its cloak, then there would be too many variations of its species to put into the first version or the Pokédex. Not every mutation can be considered a different Pokémon. Variants, perhaps yes, but-’

‘Rei. We haven't finished talking yet.’

Akari interrupted my explanation on Burmy theorem. It seemed as if she had more to say about my sudden disappearance from Summit Camp.

‘Oh, Akari. Please let him finish his explanation. I mean look, its skin is blue-’

‘Professor. No, Laventon. Rei has been missing for three days. How can you not be worried?’ Akari turned back to Laventon and shrieked. ‘Who knows what events occurred while we weren't there for him AGAIN. What if something had happened to him?’

Three days. So that's how long I’ve been gone.

There was a moment of silence in the crowd, as Akari turned back to me with tears in her eyes.

Laventon chirped with a quiet voice, sounding worried and shocked: ‘I highly doubt Rei could have done anything as dangerous as fight the gods themselves. It was wrong that Rei disappeared from us, but he seems fine and well. On that matter,’ Laventon turned to me, ‘where were you? Wait. Did you test teleportation? It was that, wasn't it?’

Akari was still staring at me, although she looked a bit calmer. She asked: ‘Well, did you? Because if you did, you could’ve told us. Rei, why did you not say a thing? After you disappeared on us to battle Volo, you promised to never leave us like that again.’

I stood there, still like the Giratina statue at the Celestica ruins. Broken down yet still the subject of conversation. I couldn't take much of this, especially after the ordeal I had just gone through.

I heard murmurs in the crowd, talking about me, and gossiping about me. Never have these people really accepted me as a fellow member of the Galaxy Team. I stand here, as most likely the strongest Pokémon trainer in Hisui, still never able to gain the respect of those around me due to me falling from the sky. I have fervent allies around me, prominent in their own right, and I have served and helped the members of the Galaxy Team with many things. Yet, there still exist people that sow distrust in the community, using every chance they get to one up me. Why can't they just grow up already?

‘Could all of you stop gossiping, please?’ I asked the crowd. ‘This is private.’

‘Rei, you are a part of the Galaxy Team. Everyone here has a reason to talk and worry. You were missing, were you not?’

Cylenne walked into the circle around the crowd. It seems like she came from the Galaxy building, heard the commotion, and then walked to the crowd.

‘You sure, Cylenne? Look around. I don't really see worried looks around me, well except that of Akari.’ I replied.

‘And you still haven't told us why you left, Rei.’ Akari said.

‘You can answer that question later, Rei. In my office. Knowing you, it's probably something not for public ears.’ Cylenne said.

‘Indeed.’ I agreed. Akari's face fell. She seemed to have figured out I didn't just go on a nighttime stroll. Then again, who goes for a multi-day walk?

‘As for the rest of you,’ Cylenne addressed the crowd, ‘What are all of you doing? Get back to work.’ The crowd broke up, going back to their stations.

‘One more thing before we head to my office Rei.’ Cylenne turned back to me. ‘You should really trust your fellow Galaxy Team members more, you know. I saw that look on your face.

‘It's not everyone, Cylenne.’ I replied. ‘I... just can't forget their faces when I got kicked out of this place.’

It was silent for a solid twenty seconds before Cylenne broke the silence. ‘Let's head to HQ. Honestly, this might be a meeting needing Commander Kamado's presence too.’

I sighed. ‘You might be right, but can you maybe inform him of the situation after-’

‘No.’

‘Fine...’

‘Professor, Akari, you two come too. I’ll go get Kamado. The meeting will commence soon.’ Cylenne ordered.

Section 3:

‘And... Why are we in your office, Cylenne?’

A brawny man with dark grey eyes, pulled back hair and a moustache stands to the side of Cyllene's office.

'If you are going to ask for a meeting with me, Cyllene, then it should be in my office.’ The brawny man said.

‘Here or there, it does not matter. Rei, speak quickly before Kamado complains more.’ Cylenne replied.

Kamado looked like he was going to bite back but decided otherwise.

‘If you’ve directed a tongue like that to your boss, then this must be an incredibly pressing matter. And considering that Rei here is in the room...’ Kamado replied. ‘It's about why you were gone for so long?’

I doubt that Kamado was actually worried about me.

‘Well, that's what we are here to find out. Rei. Speak.’ Cylenne said.

I was about to speak, when Kamado spoke again, ignoring Cyllene's words.

‘You haven't even questioned him?’ Kamado asked.

‘No, I have not. I mean, he just showed up. From out of nowhere.’ Cylenne explained. ‘He apparently just walked out of his room, which we had searched multiple times beforehand. He didn't even come back with the party that went to Summit Camp, he just... Appeared.’

‘Then ask him what happened, Cylenne. For Sinnoh's sake. For all you know, he got lost, trampled his way in the dark all the way back to Jubilife and fell asleep outside due to fatigue.’

‘Then how did he end up in his room? Explain that.’ Cylenne challenged.

‘Cylenne... I don't know. This isn't the first time that Rei got lost. Maybe he was off doing some research. Or I don't know, he blew up a cave while inside and got stuck in it.’ Kamado replied.

‘Stuck in a cave... Couldn't he just blast his way out of it?’ Akari asked.

Realizing that the conversation was spiraling in a different direction, I brought it back on course. ‘People, just ask me. I am right here, you know.’

The room turned to me as Cylenne said: ‘Thank you, Rei. Now explain, where were you for the past few days?’

It was hard for me to find the right words to describe what had recently happened, let alone where I was all this time. ‘First, I was on Mount Coronet at the Temple of Sinnoh. I was investigating the aftereffects of the explosion that the God of Space had caused.’

‘So, you really were on the job, Rei.’ Professor Laventon interjected. ‘Next time tell me if you're going to research for longer periods of time, would you? Then we don't have to deal with moments like these.’

‘I highly doubt that Rei was researching the aftermath of the explosion for three days straight, Laventon. Please continue, Rei.’

‘While up there, my Arc Phone started vibrating in my satchel. I opened it and got a message, saying to play the Azure Flute close by the center of the temple. Once I played the flute, um... stairs appeared, leading all the way into the sky.’ I spoke.

Kamado asked a question: ‘Stairs, like bringing you higher into the temple? Or...’

Cylenne gave him a quick look, making Kamado shut up. After that, Cylenne looked back at me, giving me the signal to continue.

'It was a bunch of transparent stairs leading further than even Braviary had brought me. At the top there was a transparent platform, where a glowing golden orb was floating, which turned into...’

I proceeded to explain the events that took place. How I had met the being that brought me to this world, find out it was Sinnoh, battle Sinnoh, win against Sinnoh. Too had I talked about my near-death experience after the trial and how Sinnoh had healed me, or in better words made me in one way or another immortal.

This entire time the faces of the others were becoming increasingly complex. I had seen fear, worry, confusion, and dumbfounded faces. It also felt as if Kamado believed my words less and less.

‘After beating Sinnoh, he explained why he brought me to this world and his plans for me coming forward. Aside from that, he talked about the powers he gave me and my Pokémon. For me, those included healing, understanding of Pokémon speech, increased strength, and...’ I explained.

‘And what, Rei?’ Cylenne asked. She seemed to be losing belief in my explanation too.

‘Ageless immortality, and the key to obtaining more fragments of Sinnoh including my first fragment of Sinnoh...’ I answered.

Silence fell into the room, as they started to contemplate the last half an hour. Finally, Kamado spoke up.

‘There's honestly more chance a Darkrai got you and gave you nightmares, Rei. All the other situations with you so far, I can believe, because I’ve seen them with my own eyes. But this? This is a story one step too far, Rei.’

For the first time in a while, the rest of the room despite not saying anything seemed to agree with Kamado. Even this was a stretch too far for them. All except for Laventon, who spoke up.

‘Let him prove it. After all the crazy situations we’ve been in this might be another one added to that list.’

Kamado interjected: ‘But this is absurd, Laventon. Are we hearing the same story or what? Rei just said he fought Sinnoh and won. How can we believe-’

‘Dialga told me to come, and it seems it was at the right time too...’ said a voice from the door.

A tall blue-haired man in full traditional Diamond Clan clothing cam walking in.

‘Good for you that you have my lord on you, he told me about what happened in Arceus’ domain. I came here as quickly as I could to congratulate you on your ascension to hero, Rei. Congratulations.’ said the blue haired man.

Silence fell into the room, as the faces started to turn from confusion and disbelief to a slight contemplation of what the blue haired man just said. His word on the situation was quite heavy due to him being the Diamond Clan leader, Adaman, who worships the God of Time, Dialga, one of the creations of Arceus.

‘And how did you know about this, Adaman?’ Cylenne asked.

‘Via Telepathy, of course. Rei used Dialga in the battle against Arceus in his domain, so it was there to see it all. It told me.’ Adaman answered.

‘And you didn't mind bringing Palkia, did you Rei?’ said another voice from the door right behind Adaman. ‘Adaman get out of the way, I need some space.’

‘I don't have the time for that, Irida.’ Adaman answered her retort. ‘And by the way we are talking right now.'

Irida answered back: ‘Time this, time that. Adaman, if you don't get out of the way I’m going to-’

‘Irida, calm down please.’ Cylenne said.

‘I had to hear from this Diamond Clan buffoon about Rei's ascension, and I didn't hear a thing because Rei here didn't bring the god of Space with him. My God. Of course I'm mad, Cylenne. So why, Rei?’

Irida is the Pearl clan leader, a young petite blond woman in pink-reddish Pearl Clan clothing. The pearl clan worship the god of Space, Palkia.

‘I lacked experience with Palkia, Irida. I understand that the Pearl Clan would want their god to be there at the great trial, but I did not know the situation between me and Palkia yet after catching it in the Origin Ball.’ I explained

‘Palkia would have easily defeated it or at least went toe to toe with Sinnoh, even without your help. Why didn't you bring it, Rei?’ Irida asked.

‘That's not true, Irida-’ Adaman said.

‘Oh, what you're undermining our god's power too now, Adaman? I didn't take you to be like that, Diamond clan-’ Irida interjected.

‘NO, Irida. No, I am not.’ Adaman had to speak louder to get over Irida. ‘I heard about the battle from Dialga. Even it had a hard time fighting Arceus. Let's take the idea that both gods are just as powerful. Palkia would have also had a hard time, then. Oh, and Sinnoh could change typing, so having too many Dragon types would have made the trial a lot harder instead of having a wide spread of typings.’

‘You’ve been learning about Pokémon battling I see, Adaman.’ I commented.

‘Just training with Ingo for my rematch with you. I need to see Dialga for myself sometime.’ Adaman said.

‘Whenever you need, same for you and Palkia, Irida.’ I added. ‘By the way. When fighting, both Palkia and Dialga are fragments of their true selves. Even I haven't seen what they look like in their true form but doing so would probably break reality.’

The rest were still standing or sitting there, just listening to the conversation at hand. I suppose it was a bit much even for them to understand. However, Kamado spoke up.

‘I still can't get my head around the situation. And I still don't believe all those things about what happened, Rei. So let me ask this one more time.’

Kamado walked over to me, standing right in front of me. ‘Are you telling the truth?’

‘Yes, I am.’ I answered.

Kamado proceeded to try to grapple me just like the first time I met him in his office. It was a sudden moment, but instinct kicked in, and I grabbed both of his arms and pushed him down to the ground.

‘Heh, you really are a lot stronger now, aren't you Rei? But that could also be because of you being in the wild so often.’ Kamado said while on the ground. I let him go.

‘WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING KAMADO’ Cylenne shouted, angry and confused about the situation.

‘Don't worry, Kamado was just testing me.’ I said calmly. ‘You make a fair point, that could’ve been because of my training too. But unless you want to throw a boulder at me, try testing something else other than man-to-man combat, Kamado.’

‘Your Pokémon also got new stuff too, right?’ Kamado asked. ‘What did they supposedly get?’

‘They should have gained the power of a noble and have the ability to power up even further via me.’ I replied.

Adaman and Irida seemed to react to my words nonverbally, but I didn't see their reaction.

‘Well then, we shall test that. The Training grounds, there we will battle. Let's see if you're telling the truth, Rei.’ Kamado said.

Kamado headed for the door, followed by Laventon, Cylenne (who was still mad at Kamado) and Irida. Only Adaman and Akari stayed behind.

Adaman headed for the door, but not before asking me something: ‘Does Dialga need some rest? I could make Kamado postpone this battle.’

‘No need, all my Pokémon including Dialga should be fine now.’ I answered. Adaman headed out the door too.

Only Akari and I were the only ones in the room now. Akari seemed a bit shocked by the situation. She had never had to deal with situations like this before, so of course she was a bit stricken. But she seemed to come to her senses and looked straight at me for a second before hurriedly running out the door.

I don't know if she's scared of me or worried about me now. Only time will tell.

Section 4:

A crowd was gathering once again around Rei. Although, this time it was not at the front gate due to him being missing, but just outside the training grounds arena to once again find something new to gossip about.

‘You ready to fight, kid?’ Kamado shouted from the other side of the training grounds.

‘Ready when you are.’ I replied.

‘You may have been partially right about the events atop the mountain, but this is a stretch too far even for you.’ Kamado said. ‘Let's see if you’re telling the truth, Rei. Once and for all.’

Kamado sent out his Golem. A giant mass of rock and stone, the living boulder stood up with its two feet sticking out of the sphere that is a rock ready to blow up its next opponent.

A Rock and Ground type, Grass and Water Types do quad damage; while fighting, ground, steel and ice types deal double damage. I’d preferably not send an Ice type due to Rock Types being effective right back at it, not that I have one on me right now. I’ll send out Garchomp, a Dragon and Ground type to fight Golem.

I grab Garchomp's Ultra Ball and throw it towards the ground. The moment Garchomp comes out of its Ultra ball, the sky turns dark.

Golden lightning strikes the Garchomp, searing the ground where it stood. The surrounding crowd fell into a panic, just surprised as I was about the sudden strike on the Training Grounds. Kamado stumbled a bit as the ground made a tremor.

Garchomp now stood there with the same sort of golden aura as the frenzied lords had when powered up, except Garchomp still seemed to be in control. With the power of a noble in its grasp, Garchomp was stronger than ever.

Garchomp, also surprised about the lightning, roared. Despite me still hearing a roar from Garchomp, at the same time in my mind I was able to make out the words: ‘What the- what just happened?’

It seems like the Pokémon speech power granted by Arceus to me wasn't exactly the direct granting of the full Pokémon language, but more like an instant translator in my head. It felt something like telepathy, but indirectly. I decided to try talking back.

‘Hey, Garchomp, you just got struck by Arceus's lightning. It should give you a power up, and there's something else I’d like to try. You up for it?’ I asked my Garchomp.

Garchomp turned to me, a ready look in its eyes. The next words from Garchomp translated into my mind were: ‘What have you gotten yourself into, now, Rei...? Oh well, I’m down to whoop some Pokémon again, especially after that battle with the Original One. Let's do this.’

Slightly hurt by my Garchomp's first real words towards me (that I can understand), I decided to reply. ‘This one is not my fault this time, Garchomp. Oh yeah, and Arceus gave us a second power up for use. Want to use it now or later?’

Garchomp was starting to realize that I might understand it. ‘It's always your fault somehow- wait did you just reply to me? ... No, that can't be. Let's test it. Use it after I use three moves, got it?’

I answer: ‘Hey, why you being so specific? Just trust me, I’ll know when to pop it. And stop trying to test me man, I can hear you. Thank Arceus for that. You ready?’

Garchomp was staring at me, now fully realized that I could understand every word. A bit weirded off by the new change, Garchomp just shoved it off for now. ‘Ready when you are, Rei.’

The crowd was once again gossiping, probably about me. I mean, how weird does it look when a Pokémon trainer is just standing still there and looking at his Garchomp? It probably looks incredibly weird to everyone else. Well, they’re talking about that and the fact that my Garchomp is suddenly radiating a golden aura, just like a noble's.

‘Hey, kid. You still in the game? Hey. WAKE UP. We're starting.’ Kamado was trying to get my attention. ‘And what in the name of Sinnoh is going on with your Garchomp?’

‘Sorry, just testing something out. All right, I’m ready, sorry, sorry everyone.’ I apologized to everyone.

Zisu, the captain of the Galaxy Team security corps, started us off. ‘3, 2, 1, GO.’

‘Golem, use Bulldoze!’ I heard Kamado shout at his Golem.

The Golem started to stomp its feet into the ground, breaking the terrain in the area and making it harder to get a fast attack in on Golem without going through all the rubble, which means lowering speed on land. The rubble had also hit Garchomp, but did minimal damage.

There's something new I wanted to try with Garchomp. A quick relayed message directly into Garchomp's mind. It should reduce time shouting moves and give quick and complex details in a much more direct way that Garchomp can understand, instead of just shouting it. And thus, I tried giving out orders via what I’m calling pseudo-Telepathy.

‘Garchomp, pull towards the right, where you are going to launch yourself into the air. Golem will try to shoot Rock Bullets at you, so while in the air pull right on top of the Golem so that when the bullets fire it goes right past you and falls back onto the Golem. While Golem is being pelted by its own bullets, pull down directly into range of Golem and use the move earthquake, destabilizing it. After that, close range strong style Outrage him. Ready?’ I ordered via telepathy to Garchomp.

‘Come on, Rei. That aura isn't just for show, is it? Or do you want me to pelt you right here and now? HA.’ Kamado taunted as he was probably wondering why I haven't gone into my usual hyper offensive tactics yet.

‘GO NOW.’ I told Garchomp.

‘Gottit. Going now.’ Garchomp replied as he speeded past me to the right.

Garchomp proceeded to the right and flew right into the air. In speeds way to fast it was right above the Golem. Golem, however, didn't even have time to react as with no rock bullets pelting it Garchomp was ready to attack.

I gave another order: ‘Continue with earthquake at close range. Any sign of a Stone Edge and burst to the left with a flight burst and earthquake again after that, continue with Outrage.’

Garchomp fell at Mach speeds onto Golem, making a giant impact onto the ground as it landed, causing an earthquake. Garchomp continued to cause tremors into the ground, but there was no Stone Edge in sight. It seems the Golem had no time to realize that the Garchomp had already landed right next to it. Garchomp then proceeded to use Outrage, slicing the back of the Golem's body while the Golem only stood there helplessly as it had no time to fight back while in an awkward position due to the imbalance its own bulldoze and earthquake caused. The Golem fell onto the ground, having clearly fainted.

‘STOP THE MATCH.’ A voice sounded from outside the arena.

I turned towards the voice: ‘Wait- why? We only just started and there's only one Pokémon down.’

Then I saw the surrounding area. The earth around the arena had been turned into shards, like scales pointing up from a dragon's tense body due to my Garchomp's earthquake. The crowd was long gone, to who knows where. The only people left at the arena were the people with us from the meeting and Zisu, who gave the call for the match to stop.

‘What in the- what was that, Rei? How did... When was your Garchomp that fast?’ Kamado was blubbering.

Garchomp was still standing above the fainted Golem, looking proud of himself, still radiating that golden aura.

‘And that move, the one that caused those tremors. What was that? Was that granted by Sinnoh to you too?’ Professor Laventon asked me.

‘The move is called Earthquake, and no it was not granted by Sinnoh. I actually made the move myself after seeing Garchomp use bulldoze so many times. If you ignore the will to make the rubble in the area slower for your opponent to traverse and go fully for power into the ground, you can make it into an earthquake, causing tremors and the strain within the ground to bursts into a power strong enough to make shifts in the ground.’ I explained.

‘You're paying for this, Rei. You know that, right?’ Kamado asked.

‘Paying for... What?’ I asked back, feigning ignorance.

‘We need funds to repair the training grounds somehow, kid.’ Kamado said.

‘You're really making him pay up after you asked him for a battle, Kamado?’ Adaman asked.

Cylenne said: ‘Don't worry Adaman, and you too, Rei. This is coming straight out of Kamado's paycheck. I’ll make sure of it.’

Kamado stared daggers at Cylenne, his eyes screaming ‘traitor’.

‘I’ll have to ask captain Sanqua
