This whole fiasco started the first day of Sophomore year for Wednesday Addams and Enid Sinclaire, it was Freshman year for Eugene Ottinger and Pugsley(although Pugsley is a bit younger, and still in the other school). Some time in the middle of the year, a new student transferred into Nevermore, nobody knew what kind of outcast he was, but he was an outcast for sure, his name was Jamie Walker, seems normal enough. He's got curly black-brown hair, olive beige skin, brown eyes, and his teeth look a bit sharper than a human's, usually people see him with a knee brace on his left leg, bad knee as he says.
It's the events after the whole Hyde-coma incident with Eugene, the beautiful gorgeous nerd was slowly getting back on his feet after waking up, he didn't know it but two Addams and a certain curly-haired nobody were watching him, although one of the Addams watching didn't even officially know who he was, he was just with his sister, who felt incredibly guilty for getting Eugene in that situation anyways. That curly-haired nobody on the other hand, Jamie, he was watching, envious of Eugene's appearance, but also wanting to approach, he was also a Freshman so they're the same age.
Fast forward to Sophomore year, let's keep Wednesday and co on the back burner for now, roommates have been assigned.
Eugene Ottinger, Pugsley Addams, Jamie Walker, [FIRST NAME] [LAST NAME], Dorm Room 203, Caliban Hall
It said the other dorm assignments, but his dorm was the only thing Jamie was staring at, housing with the two people that piqued his interest? Perfect. But who was that other kid? Who cares. There's just Eugene and Pugsley, his two favorite people to 'watch'(stalk). First day rolls around, Jamie's first in the dorm, chewing on his fingers out of nervous habit, black nail polish chipped, while having earbuds in, listening to whatever's in his song library that sounds good. Eugene was second to arrive, temporarily ignoring Jamie until he finished putting his stuff down and shooing his moms away(I love his moms they're so sweet).
"Ahem.. Uhm, hi?" Eugene was nervous, somewhat regretting not getting just dual student room assignment so he only had to deal with one other person, not three(but the third person doesn't even actually stay in the dorm).
"Eugene! Hi, Jamie Walker." Jamie paused the music in his earbuds, the latest song playing was 'Touchy Feely Fool' by AJR, just thought we'd let you know(you should listen to it).
"Wait I didn't even tell you my-"
"Unimportant! There's an Addams roomed with us, you have history with his sister too!" Jamie dangled upside down from his bunk, earbuds out of his ears with his hands keeping his phone from falling. "Tell me, Do you know this boy in any way or do you only know his sister?"
"Oh- Uh- I've only seen glimpses of him so.. not really. Do you know him?"
"I know him, he doesn't know me, like with you! I know you named all your bees, it's sweet."
"Oh."
Eugene went quiet, going to his bunk.
"I see I've overstepped a bit, I apologize."
Eugene looked to the other boy. "Why do you talk so formally?"
"I mimic how others have spoken to me, growing up in containment does that, but it could just be that it's in my biology to imitate." Jamie was dangling very precariously over the edge of his bunk, top bunk obviously or else he wouldn't be able to do that.
"Containment?"
"I'm contained at Willow Hill, or at least I was up until a year ago, they wanted me to at least go to a semi-public high school, they being my handlers."
"Handlers? Like.. multiple?" Eugene was getting slightly concerned.
"How else would they contain something that shouldn't exist among outcasts or normies combined? I'm no vamp, and I'm for sure not a siren, I don't have telekinetic abilities, I can't control electricity, I can't control fire, I can't control insects like you, I can't control birds, I can't go invisible, can't turn people to stone, can't shapeshift to my knowledge, I don't see the future, I don't turn into a funny looking wolf thing, and last I checked I don't turn into a stupid looking bug-eyed monster." Woa... thas a lotta words.
"Well, what can you do? What are you?"
"A-"
Jamie was cut off by Pugsley entering the room.
"Pugsley Addams! Right on time, saved by the bell." Jamie quietly remarked, but then he fell down from his bunk, groaning "I'm okay!" as he got back up.
"Hi, Pugsley. I'm-" He reached out to shake Pugsley's hand, only for a small spark of electricity to zap his fingers. "Ah-! Elec- Electricity. Cool."
Eugene's moms had returned for the time being, greeting Gomez.
"What was it like getting gutted by a Hyde?" Pugsley's question caught Eugene off-guard.
"I still wake up screaming sometimes." Eugene answered honestly, Jamie thought he caught a hint of a lack of comfort on Eugene's end, squinting at Pugsley from the floor.
"Woah." Pugsley seemed awestruck. "That's... Awesome!"
"Why don't we give the boys some space?" Janet, one of Eugene's mothers, suggested.
Gomez nodded, "Lurch will be up with your things. And we'll see you downstairs." Then, as if remembering something, he added. "Remember, boys, the friends you make here will be your brothers for life, you will kill for each other, and provide alibis."
Eugene chuckled weakly and awkwardly, humming under his breath.
"What's with the bugs?" Pugsley asked once their parents left.
Eugene answered, still nervous. "At first I could only control bees, but lately I've been able to control other insects too-- Watch this." He manipulates the caterpillars to slowly form the words 'BUG OFF'.
[UPDATE: I forgot he's controlling caterpillars at this part]
"They're so.. juicy.. Perfect for late-night munchies."
"They're pets.. not snacks.." Eugene was offended, looking at Pugsley with narrowed eyes.
"Maybe after we unpack, we could hang out?" Pugsley suggested.
"Actually," Eugene remembered something. "I'm meeting up with some other guys."
Pugsley tilted his head like a dog for a split second, then suggested "I could tag along."
"They're kinda.. new-ish friends." Eugene was finding any excuse to not hang out with him or Jamie.
"I don't mind. It's not like I have any old ones."
"I owe your sister a lot, which is why I agreed to be your roommate." He sighed. "Let's just see how this pans out first, okay?"
Sigh, Pugsley is a dog. "Yeah. Sure."
The knocking on the door got the attention of all three boys, then in came Ajax. "Yo, bee boy! - Oh, you've grown." FUCK YES HE HASS NNNNGGGGHHHH
"Ajax, what are you doing in here?"
"I'm your new Resident Advisor. If you have any questions.."
"Can you stone me with your snakes?" Pugsley has once again caught everyone but Jamie off-guard.
"Not happening."
"Are you and Enid still together or has she come to her senses?" (I actually don't remember who said this, I'm just reading off the transcript for the episode)
"Do you have any dorm-related questions?"
Silence from all three.
"Okay." Ajax rocked on his feet for a moment. "Well, welcome to Caliban Hall. This is going to be a great year."
Ajax left the room, leaving the group of boys on their own(and me a chance to go off script because at this point it clipped to Wednesday).
It was silent for a long moment, just the sound of the boys breathing and Jamie deciding to get to work with unpacking. "You guys should probably unpack too, we've got a lot of time on our hands." Jamie quietly spoke, he never liked being loud in quiet spaces. Pugsley went out of the room to get his stuff from Lurch, Eugene got to unpacking.
Skip to the horror story time, Jamie's among the boys Ajax is telling the story to, Pugsley is very interested, although he is partially interested in the boy not too far from him, Eugene.

Tonight, you're gonna hear
the tale of the Skull Tree.
It's Caliban Hall tradition to tell
this story on the first night of school.
[thunder crashes]
[Ajax] There once was a brilliant
boy with a fragile heart.
He spent his days in bed,
drawing all the incredible machines
he planned to build someday.
[delicate, mournful
music playing]
Now the doctors, they only
gave him months to live.
So he decided to
design his own heart.
So that his body could keep
up with his dazzling mind.
[beating steadily]
[beating halts]
The operation was successful.
But the clockwork heart
had changed the boy.
He became cold,
and driven by ambition.
When he arrived at Nevermore,
he was hailed as the greatest
mind to ever walk the halls.
[electricity crackles]
But his inventions
became more dangerous.
Until one night…
His genius cost him his life.
Now, legend has it,
his body is buried at the
foot of the Skull Tree
in an unmarked grave.
But if you put your ear to
the skull's hollow left eye…
[tick echoing]
…you can still hear
his clockwork heart.
Tick,
tick,
tick.
Only the bravest in Caliban
Hall have ventured out at night
to take the dare to listen to
the tick of the clockwork heart.

[probably eugene idk]: Sorry. Tonight's my big night.
