Chapter Text
It was raining on Odesson when the holo-call came through. Cordi, the commander of the eternal Alliance, had recently invested in building outposts on outer-rim systems, with the war between the Republic and Sith Empire seemingly not ending any time soon, It seemed wise to spread out her forces rather then have them all on the same planet.
The chiss woman marched from her quarter's, her short jet black hair bobbed as her dark boots clanked on the poorly placed large durasteel tiles that covered the muddy floors of the cave system the base was built within. Her black trenchcoat was buttoned up revealing the cool blue skin of her neck, her silhouette cutting through the fluorescent lighting that was installed within the base. She finally entered the control room, There were two distinct holo tables within the centre of a raised up metal platform, The cool durasteel contrasted the muddy floors and cave walls of the command room, she walked up the metallic stairs before turning to Theron Shan, a tall lean man, with tanned skin and a dark brown mohawk, the cybernetics installed on the side of his head beeped and flashed yellow lights as he paced back and forth in front of the holo table. "Whats the situation?" She said in calm voice. For someone who had literally saved the galaxy from cabals and sith emperors, an intergalactic war wasn't the worst reason to be woken up early.
Theron turned around and nodded at Cordi. "Commander," He said swiftly before handing her a holo-tablet, "The excavation site on Tatooine found something, just reported it in, said it looks like some ancient jedi tablet" He shrugged, "Seems unlikely but figured I'd let you decide what to do about it."
Cordi looked over the tablet. The dark green holographic screen showed the coordinates of the site and how deep they had dug. She swiped a couple of times, quickly taking in the information; a skill she had learned during her days as an Imperial agent, before looking at the image that was sent through. "I recognise this," She muttered quietly to herself, "Zakuulian archives that we recovered during the war with Valkorian mentioned ancient temples," She sighed "Not exactly jedi or sith temples, but deeply attuned to the force," She handed the tablet back to theron before turning to the holo-table and pressing down the intercom. "Jeena Rexa and Lana Beniko to the control room please" Her voice echoed through the underground base as she turned back to Theron. "The force isn't exactly my area of expertise," She remarked as she took the tablet back from Theron and swiped a couple of times until the image from the tablet reflected on the large monitor in front of them. "So let's hope one of the actual force users knows what this is," Theron smirked as he stood next to Cordi "They're gonna be annoyed, last night was their date night..."
Jeena Rexa groaned as she sat up. Her long, curly brown hair was a mess down her shoulders. She didn't like waking up this early unless it was an emergency, and since there weren't sounds of ships moving, guns firing, or alarms going off, she assumed there wasn't. She sat up on the side of her bed. And looked around her room, the blinds were open over the 'windows' and her dark grey and crimson robes were neatly folded on the durasteel desk in the corner next to her bed. "Lana?" She called out to no response, which wasn't surprising, her wife, Lana Beniko wasn't known for sleeping in or being late to a meeting. Jeena stood up and groaned again as she stretched, she rather sluggishly got changed into her armored robes and retrieved her lightsaber from her desk drawer. "If my old master could see me now..." She mused to herself as she rubbed her faded yellow eyes. She is or was , truthfully she didn't even really know herself anymore, a jedi knight and one of the best in the galaxy she had defeated the sith emperor many years ago and greatly aided Cordi in finally defeating Valkorian, but within all her adventures and, admittedly misadventures, fallen to the dark side several times and fought her way back to - well not the light - but somewhere in between.
She rushed out of her room and headed to the elevator down the end of the hallway. Once inside she allowed herself to breathe before pressing the down button. She stepped out onto the outside area of the Alliance base, the place was always chaotic but it had felt like home for years now, she walked past engineers and pilots before entering the wide elevator on the opposite end of the walkway where a pale woman with a short blonde bob was waiting, her dark orange eyes glowing slightly in the shady elevator. "Your late, dear" Lana smirked teasingly at Jeena as she approached pressing the elevator button to take them down. "I was afraid I'd have to attend this meeting alone, again," Jeena chuckled at Lana and smiled at her. "Maybe I was just worn out from last night," She shrugged as the elevator dinged announcing their arrival to Cordi and Theron.
"Now that you two are here," Cordi began as she saw Lana and Jeena enter the command centre. Jeena rolled her eyes at Cordi as she strolled in behind her, much more professional, wife. "What's the emergency this time? Valkorian on the loose again? The sith empire or republic mad that we wont help them fight the war..." She trailed off as she looked up at the monitor. There was an image of a sand cave wall with faded but still relatively visible images etched onto it, figures that looked like force users wielding lightsabers and fighting back against legions of other figures holding guns or swords. "Well? What's the situation, Commander?" Lana's dromand Kass accent broke through the silence. "I was hoping you could tell us," Cordi said as she put down the tablet. "It was found on Tatooine by Lor’na's excavation group a few hours ago, it resembles images we found in jedi, sith, and Zukuulian holo logs, each one had their own ideas of what they represented, but few sounded good." She looked over at Jeena and Lana as she sighed "So, are we all doomed?"
