Gaster crouches down so that the kitchen counter is at eye level. He meticulously aligns his knife rack so that its previous misalignment didn't mess with the feng shui of his apartment. He stands up and groans, rubbing his back. He didn't look much different, but over the last 10 years he had gotten much older. He rotates his container of olive oil and walks over to his coat rack where his riverperson cloak and tree costume hang. He grabs both of them and brings them to the entryway closet. He might need them again soon but today was special. He was finally getting his new cat.
As he was picking up his framed photo of a bone over a green background there was a knock at the door. “⚐︎☟︎ ❄︎☟︎✌︎❄︎ 💣︎🕆︎💧︎❄︎ 👌︎☜︎ ❄︎☟︎☜︎ ☟︎✌︎☠︎👎︎☹︎☜︎☼︎!” Gaster ran across his apartment as fast as his goopy legs could move him without disturbing his new carpet. He turned the handle to see…. Nobody. “⚐︎☟︎ ☟︎✌︎ ☟︎✌︎ ✌︎☠︎⚐︎❄︎☟︎☜︎☼︎ 👎︎✋︎☠︎☝︎ 👎︎⚐︎☠︎☝︎….” Gaster then turned to the left to see a floating black cape and a 6 foot tall spider creature with cat ears and pink and yellow eyes “👎︎✋︎❄︎👍︎☟︎….” “Excuse me, is this 66 Core Lane?” The cape asked, looking at a notepad it had pulled out of somewhere. Gaster composed himself, standing up straighter and adjusting his turtleneck sweater slightly. “❄︎☟︎✌︎❄︎ ✋︎💧︎ 👍︎⚐︎☼︎☼︎☜︎👍︎❄︎📪︎ 👎︎✋︎👎︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎ ☠︎☜︎☜︎👎︎ 💧︎⚐︎💣︎☜︎❄︎☟︎✋︎☠︎☝︎?” “I’m here to take you up on your offer of living in your apartment as a roommate with my dear FRIEND here.” Gaster looked between the fluttering cape and the bizzare amalgam standing in the hallway, The large creature bends its neck to get a better look at him and Gaster shuffles to the side slightly” “⚐︎☟︎ 🕆︎💣︎, ✋︎ ❄︎☟︎⚐︎🕆︎☝︎☟︎❄︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎ 🕈︎☜︎❼︎☼︎☜︎ ☟︎☜︎☼︎☜︎ ❄︎⚐︎ 👎︎☼︎⚐︎🏱︎ ⚐︎☞︎☞︎ 💣︎✡︎ ☠︎☜︎🕈︎ 👍︎✌︎❄︎.” The cape straightened itself. “Look pal, cats are people too, if you were looking for a cat then you were looking for a roommate. And what’s the difference between one and two roommates?” Gaster looked down slightly disappointed “✈︎🕆︎✋︎❄︎☜︎ ✌︎ ☹︎⚐︎❄︎ ✌︎👍︎❄︎🕆︎✌︎☹︎☹︎✡︎📬︎ ✡︎⚐︎🕆︎☼︎ “👍︎✌︎❄︎” ❄︎☟︎☜︎☼︎☜︎ ✋︎💧︎ 💣︎🕆︎👍︎☟︎ 👎︎✋︎☞︎☞︎☜︎☼︎☜︎☠︎❄︎ ❄︎☟︎✌︎☠︎ ✋︎ 🕈︎✌︎💧︎ ☜︎✠︎🏱︎☜︎👍︎❄︎✋︎☠︎☝︎.” The amalgam lets out an echoing laugh as it shrinks in size from a large spiderlike creature to a small bloblike cat thing no more than 6 inches tall. “It’s a shapeshifter you see. They won't be a bother for you I promise.”
Within minutes of being let into the house the cat thing, which Gaster had learned was called IMAGE_FRIEND, had brought a storm of chaos into the apartment. The coat rack was toppled over and his new carpet had been bunched up alongside the couch blankets to make some sort of nest. The cape creature, who was named ERAM, was chasing IMAGE_FRIEND in circles around the room. IMAGE_FRIEND had nabbed Gaster’s white feather pen and was playing what it thought was a harmless game of keep-away with ERAM. “👌︎☜︎ 👍︎✌︎☼︎☜︎☞︎🕆︎☹︎ 🕈︎✋︎❄︎☟︎ ❄︎☟︎✌︎❄︎ ☞︎☼︎✋︎☜︎☠︎👎︎! ❄︎☟︎✌︎❄︎ ☟︎✌︎💧︎ ❄︎☟︎☜︎ 🏱︎⚐︎🕈︎☜︎☼︎ ❄︎⚐︎ ☼︎☜︎🕈︎☼︎✋︎❄︎☜︎ ☞︎✌︎❄︎☜︎.” IMAGE_FRIEND suddenly stops, much to ERAM’s dismay. Unable to stop fast enough, ERAM’s momentum sends themself crashing into a wall, the paintings on the wall shake slightly from the impact. IMAGE_FRIEND then eats the feather pen and sinks into the floor, laughing. “🕈︎☟︎☜︎☼︎☜︎ ❄︎☟︎☜︎ ☟︎☜︎☹︎☹︎ 👎︎✋︎👎︎ ✋︎❄︎ ☝︎⚐︎?” Gaster asks ERAM. “It can sink into the depths whenever it likes. Its like this upper layer of reality. FRIEND is probably scheming how to smuggle it into the chapter 5 darkworld right now.” "✌︎❄︎ ☹︎☜︎✌︎💧︎❄︎ ✋︎ ☟︎✌︎✞︎☜︎ 💧︎🏱︎✌︎☼︎☜︎💧︎.” Gaster chuckles as he pulls out a stationary bag with a dozen more feather pens from his desk. Gaster settles down into his armchair and exhales deeply “✌︎💧︎ ⚐︎👎︎👎︎ ✌︎💧︎ ✋︎❄︎ 💧︎☜︎☜︎💣︎💧︎ ❄︎⚐︎ 💣︎☜︎ ✋︎ ✌︎👍︎❄︎🕆︎✌︎☹︎☹︎✡︎ ☹︎✋︎😐︎☜︎ ❄︎☟︎✌︎❄︎ ❄︎☟︎✋︎☠︎☝︎, ✋︎☞︎ ✋︎❄︎ ✋︎💧︎ ☠︎⚐︎❄︎ ✌︎💧︎ ❄︎☼︎✌︎👎︎✋︎❄︎✋︎⚐︎☠︎✌︎☹︎☹︎✡︎ 👍︎✌︎❄︎📫︎☹︎✋︎😐︎☜︎ ✌︎💧︎ ✋︎ ✌︎☠︎❄︎✋︎👍︎✋︎🏱︎✌︎❄︎☜︎👎︎”
