Chapter Text
It was a peaceful morning in the city of Ratham.. which was surprising because chaos always occurred in this city—
BOOM!!!
A nearby jewelry shop had just exploded, debris flew in every direction, glass shattered on the floor, a mouse trembling behind a counter as a tall figure emerged from the smoke.
...
Perhaps I have spoken too early-
Anyhow, the shop had its entire entrance bombed by some fancy moron in light blue jacket, sleek black pants and shoes, white sunglasses, blue helmet and Orange bangs-
I think you know who it might be.. Or not?
Looping!
Looping emerged from the smoke. He flashes a grin as he held a sack of stolen goods over his shoulder.
Before anything, he looked down towards the ground and tilted his sunglasses up with a raised eyebrow.
Pebbles and little debris were vibrating, then he feels the vibration from the ground too as it got stronger. That only meant one thing..
Uh oh.
Looping immediately bolted from the shop and threw his metal suitcase—it transforms into his Mouse vehicle immediately! He hopped into the seat and started the engine quickly. He zooms through the streets, the impact caused the things past him wobble.
And there behind him was Razman. The noble and honest but short hero. His ratboard revvs and speeds up, trying to catch up to Looping as he hovers above him.
Suddenly— WHOOSH!
CLANG!
A grappling hook speared out of his ratboard and attached to the back of the Mouse. Looping yelped and turned his head to find Razman catching up.
"Cursed little superhero-"
Looping grunted and slams the accelerator with one foot hard, flames grew bigger from the Mouse's tailpipe. Looping's Mouse vehicle gained more acceleration that it started dragging Razman's ratboard as well
Before Razman could even fight against the pull,
CLANG!
Huh?
Another hook had attached itself to Looping's poor vehicle. And who did that? Well, no other than the famous and flashy hero—Ratman! Who received a stress call from the city and came to the rescue.. if it wasn't for Razman already handling it the situation.
Somewhere inside the Mouse, Looping loudly curses something about car dents and repairs but it was muffled by the windshield.
Now, Looping was being held by two grappling hooks from the two heroes of Ratham City itself.
They hovered above the city while keeping Looping from escaping. Razman squints his eyes at Ratman.. oh no, not again. Why does this moron keep appearing after him to steal his work! Not that he cared about the praise he'd get, but because whenever they come across a common enemy together, it never ends well.
"Scram, Ratman! I have everything under control!"
Razman scowled. The muffler of his ratboard hums—almost like a growl—when Razman gripped the handlebar tighter.
"Well, I can take it from here, my fellow hero!"
Ratman says with a swagger while hovering in the air, typical.
Razman tugs on the rope, suddenly pulling Looping over to him, irked. Ratman perks up at the "challenging" gesture and pulls as well. Now Looping was on his side.
Looping swayed back and forth in his vehicle. What are they doing? Are they playing tug of war with him as the flag?!
Razman glared at the other hero in red and drove his ratboard back sharply, tugging Looping's vehicle back with a sharp creak. Ratman rose a brow under his visor, and it flickered.
He wraps the rope around his metal gloved hand and pulled in one strong tug. Both hero and villain were pulled over to him, and the hood of Looping's vehicle dared to almost peel off from the force.
Meanwhile, Looping had fallen off his seat from the constant back-and-forth motion. His sunglasses fell off his head and his legs were over his head before setting it upright- He sat back up and peeks over from the glass and up at the two heroes, like a child checking if their parents were still arguing.
Razman puffs his chest and drove his ratboard over to Ratman. He got dangerously close to Ratman, almost nose-to-nose (or nose to helmet) with the other hero. Tail whipping once behind him and against the ratboard floor.
Razman snaps at him, almost defensively.
"I said— SCRAM! I HAVE IT UNDER CONTROL!"
"Oh, yeah? Well I can handle him better than you can! Because I'm a professional, kid!"
Ratman got just as close too, now nose-to-nose with Razman, glaring through him under the visor as his jetpack hummed like it was anticipating for action.
While the two were busy being rivals or whatever, Looping looked around as if checking for an opportunity to escape.
Slowly, he started his engine and bolted out of the scene. He drove fast!
Both Razman and Ratman paused.
What?-
Before the two could even react and go after the villain-
"WHAA-"
"CRAP!-"
The two still had the hook's ropes connected to them so they unfortunately got dragged along. Looping drove recklessly, he did barrel rolls in the air and everything to try and get them off him. A grumble escapes from his chest and his ears perked up when he spotted a bunch of billboards straight ahead, all lined-up on top of buildings.
Then, he smirked slyly.
On the other hand, Ratman and Razman helplessly tried to detach themselves until both froze upon spotting the incoming billboards.
Gulp.
"OOF!-" "AHH!" "YOUCH!—"
The two heroes yelped after every slam against the billboards.
Ratman dangled when his jetpack malfunctioned for a moment. Luckily, the hero in red clung onto Razman's board to avoid falling, although it did tilt slightly from his weight.
The two were dizzy and a little battered from hitting static and digital billboards that even Razman's ratboard's blinker broke from the hit!
But Looping wasn't gonna stop anytime soon, ohh it was amusing to him. The thrill of being evil!
So, Looping drove with more speed. He started heading straight towards a tall building.
"CUT THE ROPE!"
Razman yelled with wide eyes as Looping speeds up.
Ratman finally activated his built-in saw from his arm, but they couldn't cut it in time because they wobbled and he missed-
CRASH!
(I'm terrible at sound effects, bear with me)
Looping made a sudden and sharp vertical turn in the last second, nearly missing the building. The ropes finally cut loose then the heroes smash through the window, shards flew and there they were tumbling and rolling throughout the building floor before finally stopping with groans.
"So long, losers!"
Looping called out once more before zipping away in a blur.
Working rats screamed and gasped as Ratham city's heroes basically just crashed into their work office. One super famous, one probably unknown.
Ratman groaned, disoriented as he tried getting up. Propping himself up with an elbow. He took in the scene..
Glass shards everywhere, some office cubicles were pushed and some items clattered to the floor..
"Are they okay..?" One rat managed to whisper to her coworker.
Ratman yelped as his helmet nearly opened on its own—it was damaged that's why it was acting funny. He immediately held his helmet on his head to keep it shut and keep the civilians from seeing his face.
He turns his head over to the other hero who was sprawled on the floor like a starfish, then stared into the abyss.
Razman hasn't moved yet- He was a little bruised. But not too bruised to be that noticable.
As for his vehicle, his ratboard was scattered and had landed on someone's office. The rat in the office calmly kept eating like this was a normal Tuesday.
Razman finally sat up. Shaking his head like a wet dog then held his head with a pained grunt. His suit was a little scratched, glancing at Ratman's armor which was only dented a bit, Razman took more damage. The noise around him hushed down as he took a moment to process what had just happened.
Then—
Looping had escaped! Damn it! The thought hit him like a slap.
He slowly looks over to the other hero, eyes narrowed and glared straight at Ratman.
Ratman hits his helmet once to stop it from buffering. With a sigh, he glanced at Razman once, then having to double-take when he realized that Razman was glaring at him. His eyes were wide under the visor and looks at the other hero in mild confusion, not that anyone can see his expression but his body language is stiff.
"What??" Ratman barked out, arms flailing.
Razman's eye twitched at Ratman's loud and confused tone "what??"
"What do you mean "what", you idiot?! You let Looping escape!"
Ratman scoffs at Razman's frustrated claim. Then clutched his chest, real dramatic and exaggerating.
"ME?! You should've just let me take him from there! I would've gotten him in no time, AND we wouldn't have ended up like- like this!"
Ratman gestured wildly. Metal boots clank against the floor as he finally got up to his feet, dusting his armor like he just went through a minor inconvenience.
Razman stayed down, ears flat against his skull with clenching fists.
"I can't believe it- I can't believe it! I wasted my time and arguing with you when I could've just finished the job myself!"
"UGHH!!"
He threw his hands back and held his face in frustration before falling back down on the floor with a smack.
Ratman rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever."
He dismissed him with a waving hand before adding another comment,
"It's not my fault your temper is as short as your height whenever you see me."
He started walking towards the broken window and peeked through it. The breeze blows against his face—if he could even feel it. Looping was nowhere to be seen. The hero curses under his breath. It didn't take long before a clipboard gets thrown right at the back of his head, making him jolt.
The workers awkwardly grimaced at the throw, but stayed silent. They knew better than to get involved.. even if it meant that their work space was literally interrupted.
Ratman whips his head towards Razman because of course he knew who'd thrown it at him specifically.
"Jerk! You always come last minute and make everything worse! I didn't need your help to get him!"
Ratman stood there, unamused with hands on his hips. He turns away with flair and presses a button by the his helmet's ear to play music only he could hear because he didn't want to hear Razman's complains.
"First of all: I didn't come to help you. Second of all: I don't have time for your whining. I have a criminal to chase!"
He powered up his jetpack, preparing to take off when it suddenly died causing him to nearly fell off the edge.
Seems like jetpack said no to chasing the already-fled villain and needed a break.
He had screamed when he thought he'd fall. A little too high-pitched for someone who usually spoke in a deep heroic voice. He immediately covered it up with an embarrassed cough as he recovered. Taking a few steps back, away from the broken window.
Razman just stared at him whilst still on the floor like a tired sack of potatoes, then groaned as he laid back flat. Already regretting his mistakes and wincing at the throbbing pain in his back, he had taken quite the impact from earlier.
"You.. suck."
Razman still managed to declare weakly.
Somewhere, police sirens blared. On their way to find the criminal themselves as the two heroes were nowhere to be seen.
