Summary:

It's a fanfic that I read a long time ago and couldn't find it now, so I'm hoping to create a story similar to it so that if anyone read it and this, they can tell me the og.

Notes:

so basically i read a fic at 2 am at a random hotel and then i never found it again. so if anyone knows what it is, please kindly send the og (just post the name in the comments pls). Disclaimer: this is a pathetic attempt to recreate the original masterpiece. do note that this idea is not from me and im just stealing from the owner.

Work Text:

As usual, Nico di Angelo started his day with a vomit down the toilet, not that it was irregular. In fact, it was just routine for him ever since Bianca died. Of course, it got worse over time, with the war against Kronos and Gaia. Despite having been trapped in a jar, he found out that you don't have to be tortured to wish for death. Being sick was enough.

He didn't know if that was sad or weird. Maybe it's both.

Nico went back to his bed and looked around his 'infirmary ward'. The ward was more like a room, complete with a closet full of black t-shirts and a direct access to the bathroom. Still, the usual stuff was there. A weighing scale, height scale, and other stuff that he doesn't recognize. The Apollo cabin modified it after their head of cabin ordered them to. Nico was a 'special case', according to them. They have never gotten a child of Hades as a patient, so they had to take precautions, just in case anything unexpected happened.

Part of him hoped that it was true, but Nico knew it was just another way to keep the patients away from him so that they don't get terrified. At least they made an effort to make him feel at home, even if he wasn't there.

After a while of staring at the ceiling (the only thing he could bring himself to do), he heard a knock on his more insistently this time. Nico was confused. Usually, if he ignored the knocking the first time, it just went away on its own with breakfast outside the door. He tried to eat it at first but only got the first bite before he threw up again. The next times, he took it and threw it away instantly. He felt bad at first, but then reminded himself that they just pitied him, or even worse, just giving him the breakfast just because their head of cabin said so.

It's been three days since he last ate. The last time was just after they beat Gaia, during Camp Half-Blood's feast, and even then, he only ate a bag of chips.

The knock came again this time, not stopping until Nico finally opened the door to reveal Will Solace, the head of the Apollo cabin.

"I have been told that you haven't gotten out of your room since the day you came in." Will crossed his arms over his chest. He was clearly angry, but Nico felt annoyed. Why should Will care whether Nico went out or not? It's not like he was disturbing anyone. He couldn't even go out without being stared at like some kind of walking disease by everyone in the infirmary.

Will gave Nico an expectant look, as if asking for permission to be let in. Nico took a step aside as Will entered his room, his rage still unextinguished. His room was messy and unkept. Nico wasn't expecting a visitor(obviously), so he didn't clean up. His clothes were on the floor, his bed was unmade was probably enough to make Will's mood worse, but the sight of his untouched medicine was what made him furious.

Will looked at Nico with glaring eyes, his anger stronger than before. Nico felt scared for a moment, then he felt annoyed because he felt scared. What could a son of Apollo do to him, a son of Hades? He could summon skeletons, even turn someone into a ghost. Did Will really thought that Nico would be scared of a little glare?

"Listen, if you don't like me being here, just send me back to my cabin. Problem solved." Nico met Will's eyes as they apparently had a staring contest. Then, Will lowered his head and sighed."I'm not mad because you're here, Nico. I'm mad because you're not taking care of yourself." Will's tone sounded soft, caring even, but Nico convinced himself that it was because he was just another patient. Will took one more look around the room and began carefully picking up Nico's clothes and folded them neatly into a corner. "Remind me to take those when we're done today."

"What exactly are we going to do today?" In response to Nico's question, Will went to a weighing scale and signalled for Nico to come over. With great reluctance, Nico walked over to where Will was, making sure to take as long as possible.

"We're going to take your measurements today. Your weight, height and heart rate. I'll need you to take off your jacket for that one." Nico instincts went wild on that last term. No way he's going to take off his jacket. They *can't* see what's underneath. Not now. Not ever.

"No." On Will's confused look, Nico explained, "Weight and height, okay. But not heart rate." Will's eyes drifted downward and immediately understood. Now, Nico was confused. He looked downwards and saw his hand unconsciously clenching his jacket. Since when did he do that? Nico relaxed his hand and put them on his side.

Will seemed to take note of his habit. Nico wanted to tell him off, but he already spoke before Nico could say anything.

"Alright!" Will looked excited. "
