Late Night

Summary:

Ivan stopped walking then looked at the moon hanging above the stars. A tear run down Ivan's face knowing that Till won't ever love him. Ivan hugged himself, it was the best moment that the driver didn't pick him up today.

Suddenly a motorcycle stopped behind him on the road.

"Hey! Don't even think about jumping!" A loud and deep voice called from behind him.

Ivan turned around, wondering who would even stop teenager from jumping, it's not like it's their business or whatever.

Work Text:

In the dim of night.

Ivan was walking on the side of the road: going home. The air was cold and freezing to the skin yet Ivan didn't seem to shiver. Eyes looking forward, shoulders straight, and mind cautious.

Usually, Till would give Ivan the normal insults back to him but today. Mizi was with us the whole time and not even a second Till spoke or even gave him attention today. It ticked Ivan the wrong way and didn't stop thinking about Till. Till would always be the first one to say good morning surprisingly between them, yet it would change depending if Mizi is there or not.

Ivan's breath quicked a bit then slowed down. It's not uncommon, Till would always give his attention to Mizi. A few cars drove by on the road stopped his mind. Ivan sighed a long and deep breath. It was because today was the decoration of the festival. Ivan remembered why Mizi was always with them, being the president of the classroom isn't shocking. It just sucks that Ivan had to do alot of planning for the festival that his time was mostly focused on the task in hand, that night came as he took a glance at Till. He was laughing with Mizi on his side.

"What? Angry I distracted you from your suicide mission? Your not the only one suicidal around here" the angry man had his head covered by a helmet. He was still on the bike waiting for Ivan to answer.

Ivan recovered from his shock, "I'm sorry for the disturbance..." Ivan said politely then walked away immediately.

The man on the motorcycle didn't seem to like the response, "Eh? Hey! What's your problem anyway? A student like you shouldn't be here in the middle of the night?" The man's voice seem to soften a bit.

Ivan stopped then responded impatiently, "it's none of your business, Sir"

Surprisingly, The man on the bike took off his helmet and got off his bike. "Don't get sassy with me, I know damn well that you had reason to be standing here in the middle of the night and worst of all. A fucking highway!"

Ivan looked sideways at him, and noticed his red hair was cut by someone that didn't know how to cut hair properly. "And how about you?" The height of the man didn't seem to surprise him, but the man looked like somewhere his age. why is he here also?

The man narrowed his eyes then leaned on the railing with his front facing Ivan. "Just wondering around the city... Don't try to ignore my question earlier!"

Ivan stared at the man for alot of minutes then he can think then finally answered with a firm and polite tone. "I am going back home..." Ivan stopped as he looked at the man's eyes watching the moon. Ivan got curious, "Where are you from?" His whole body was covered by leather and no doubt rich considering the motorcycle's unique color and frame.

The man smirked, "Yokohama, how about you?" Ivan nodded.

"Yokohama... Why are you still here?" Ivan asked with a bit anger on his tone. The man should have gone away already

The man laughed loudly, "This spot is one of my favorites to look out and see the city. No student has even walked here, even once" the man tilted his head. "Hey... What's your name, kid?"

Ivan didn't seem to see the point of having this conversation since the man already knows that he is a student... Yet, "Ivan" Ivan answered.

"Chuuya" the man answered with a smile. The stared at the stars again.

Ivan didn't know what to do after that point so he turned around but-

"Ivan..." Ivan's name coming from Chuuya shivered him. "What's up?" Ivan turned around to face Chuuya. "I know you want to talk to someone, I can tell from your demeanor. I know damn well that your parents will get mad at me if I am the reason you take so long so how about this?" Chuuya took a step forward. "I give you a ride home if only you speak to me."

Ivan's breath quicked then he looked away, "Why bother?"

Chuuya shrugged, "A man on the road is a bit lonely. Can't you keep me company as well?"

Ivan stared and stared until he sighed, "... It's our festival coming up and I am the president so I had to handle all of the planning and the decoration." Ivan talked slowly.

Chuuya nodded slowly, "what's the festival about?"

Ivan answered, "For the spring, it's our first festival to us first years..." Ivan stopped for a moment then blurted it out without thinking. "And he... I mean the plan is done so we are just going to finish everything tomorrow."

"He?" Ivan already hated that chuuya is observant, "A crush?"

Ivan glared at chuuya then turned away, "Don't assume things if you don't know the situation!"

Chuuya's widened then stared at the stars once more, "... Then what else?"

Ivan shrugged, "that's it... How about you?"

"...Rough mission, you could say. Having a partner who tricks you like a plaything is already bad enough." Chuuya had a soft smile on his face as he talked.

Ivan faced chuuya, "girlfriend?"

Chuuya shook his head. "More like a partner for a project, frequently fighting but not anything personal."

Ivan nodded slowly as he bit lip, "Aren't you too young?" Ivan said cautiously.

"18 seems old enough, how about you?" Chuuya asked.

"Like you... It's my first year in college right now, you?" Ivan tilted his head.

Chuuya didn't reply and just stared ahead at the view. Ivan didn't force him and just leaned forward at the railings.

"You know... I really like to be taken seriously." Ivan blurted it out off his mouth with no warning.

Chuuya didn't respond again.

Ivan just seem to say whatever is on his mind when Chuuya is here for some reason, "It's just that... No one seem to have the eyes to really look at me..."

Chuuya glanced at him, "you do have a rough interior."

Ivan smiled a little, "yeah... I wished I was normal"

The tall and the small stayed silent the whole 20 minutes with no one talking or even moving, just the eyes looking at the stars and moon.

Chuuya spoke, "If you wished to go home then we can go, I feel like I already took enough time from you" chuuya smirked then backed away towards his motorcycle.

Ivan didn't bother responding and just followed chuuya, the air seem to have a warm feeling and the way his skin feels soften then the tense earlier. Ivan stared at chuuya getting on the bike and putting on his helmet.

"Get on" chuuya spoke firmly.

Ivan hesitated but then took his foot on the side and sat behind chuuya.

"Ready?" Chuuya asked.

"Ready.." Ivan answered.
