Chapter Text

“Ciguato, how did you do that?” Parrot said, looking straight at him. He knew something was off.

“It could’ve fell, not like–” Derapchu mumbled.

“No. He killed both of them.” Parrot interrupted, dark eyes squinting.

“What are you talking about?” Leo blinked, now looking at him as well.

Parrot took a step closer to TruOriginal’s miraged body. If his head didn’t hurt keeping this up, he didn’t know what did.

“How did you do that?”

“What are you on, dude?” Leo said, crossing his arms.

“Nobody else saw tha—Wha–!” Parrot jumped, bright coloured wings spreading from the sudden shock.

Tru brought back his original form, his almost-suffocating mask covering his face once again. His plastic face smirked at Parrot.

“What the—Oh my god!” Leo took a step back, Nufuli and Derapchu following almost immediately, their faces staring in what looked like a mix between fear and confusion.

“I didn’t think... Two creepers would be the thing that sets you off.” Tru smiled, “You guys are weird, honestly.”

“H-How are you Ciguato?! That is my teammate!”

“No, he can morph into other players, bro.” Parrot sighed, drawing out his bow.

“That is not possible! That is not... possible!” Leo stuttered in disbelief, his hand gripping onto his sword as if it could save him.

“What can’t I do?” Tru laughed, the amusement in his tone as clear as glass.

Parrot stood there, in complete silence. He only glared, not moving an inch. He almost caught Tru off guard as his sword slashed at him, causing Tru to quickly teleport away from the situation, as if he was never there.

Tru found himself in a cave, right under the centre of BAT headquarters. His headache slowly leaving as he pulled off his mask and leaned his head against the cold stone wall.

1... 2... 3... 4... 5... Breathe in. 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... Breathe out.

He decided he would wait there until the throbbing pain in his head fully left him, before carrying on with stage 2 of his plan.

...

He didn’t have a plan.

Tru heard a low thump somewhere behind him. He turned.

A small book lay in front of him, but he saw no signs of a player who could have dropped it. He crouched down and picked it up, gently flipping the cover.

'Dig up to Parrot. He is above you, under an obsidian roof. Hurry up, or you know what will happen.'
