CT-1375 (A defective clone)

Summary:

No matter how much I wanted to fight, I never could grab a blaster and start shooting. I was told I was defective from the start, but that never stopped me from finishing my training.

Notes:

This is my first fanfic, and its about my clone trooper oc. New chapters may take long to make so yeah? Enjoy!

Chapter 1: The explosion

Chapter Text

CT-1375, also known as Rainstops, was put on a mission to save a dying civilization's technology. He has no troop since this was a solo mission, though what he does have, is his trusty destroyer droid.

He got his droid from a fight on a neighboring planet, he reprogrammed it to save, and to kill for him. Now, as he lands on the planet of Travern, he starts to gather his things, his tablet for rewriting code, and some tools he’ll most likely need to get into a power box. He holsters them on his belt, then goes to the main door and opens it.

Rain steps off his ship, many of the locals are already surrounding it. They are wanting to see what this newcomer has in store, some of them have their children, and some have weapons. He steps out without his helmet on, to show he’s not a threat. He has overgrown hair with a need to shave, a defective clone trooper. Just perfect.

As soon as Rain opens his mouth to say something, the minister of Travern steps out, his people leave him room to walk. Rain puts on his translator, and prepares to listen.

“So, you're the one who's supposed to help us get our communications up, yes?” The minister has a deeper voice than anticipated.

“Yes, I have a plan that should work, all you have to do is let me into your main tech building, and I’ll fix it right up and be on my way.” Rain answers, flicking his hand up, making sure he’s clear and that the translator actually works, he presses a button on his device to make it more clear to hear.

“Come with me,” the minister waves his hand as he turns, and Rain slowly follows.

As they head to the main building, which looks like it was made with a bunch of wires, Rain sighs, he does not want to deal with wires, or really anything today, especially since his last job ended in failure. It's been about a week since he saw all his brothers get killed by their own brothers.(Referencing the Krell arc) A few moments go by, then all of a sudden he snaps back to reality as the minister shows him the communications room. It's a circle, with about 5 of their people still trying to communicate.

"i hope they wont be a problem, CT 1375-"

"I-" Rain cuts off the minister, recollecting his thoughts, he needs to remember this is about a new mission, not about reminiscing about an old one. "I'd prefer everyone to get out. If I'm working on something and they press a button wrong I don't want to go up in flames, thank you very much."

The minister looks a little baffled that he got cut off, but doesn't say another word and orders everyone out of the room. Then he says, "I hope the republic knows what they're doing sending in a clone like you..." then he leaves. Rain rolls his eyes and starts working, knowing the minister said that because he didn't look like an ordinary clone, which made him unpredictable. He always liked the way people looked at him weirdly, it made him feel mysterious. That was something he liked about his old crew, they never looked at him weird, only ever told him when someone else looked at him weird. He suddenly felt devastated, like someone punched him. Maybe a week wasn't enough time, but it's all the time he thought he needed.

CRAP!

Rain had gotten so engulfed with his thoughts, he forgot where he was, he's supposed to be fixing communications for Travern! He knocks out a few codes on his tablet since he can't read the original language, and puts some new code in, it looks like someone hasn't edited their code in forever, no wonder they can't communicate, it's outdated.

He sends in a notice to the higher ups so they can deal with what to do next, and then fixes some other pieces of the code so everything lines up with each other.

Once he's finished, he heads back to his ship, where the minister is waiting. That's odd, shouldn't the minister have better things to do? Nobody else is around, Rain thinks it might be because of his droid, so he hurries over, but before he could get any closer, the minister whips around in a Ferrari, and starts driving towards him.

WHAT THE…

Rain heels out of the way, but wait, Ferraris aren't in star wars, so this must be a hallucination. He shakes his head, and looks at the minister again. He tilts his head, feeling the two strands of his bandana fall down his neck, and then the minister whips around again, only this time it's not a Ferrari, it's a blaster.

“Separatist SCUM!!!” The minister screams, firing his blaster over and over, Rain dives to a nearby dead bush, presses a button on his arm comms and calls his droid over, the destroyer bumps into the minister, and the minister screams, sounding louder than before, then he gets injected with a sleeping needle, and falls over.

Rain comes out from the bush and goes over to his destroyer. “Good boy,” he says, even if it's a droid he can still be proud of it, and then when he looks up, he sees his ship exploding.

Shit.
