Work Text:
—Andréa, are you sure?
—I am. Caro and Cass will soon finish their homework, Patty is taking a nap and as far as I'm concerned, chapter five and I have one last date.
The editor nods, still unconvinced. Even so, Miranda slips on her signature red Prada heels, complementing the black suit.
In the next hour, Elias-Clarke's annual dinner party will be held at the Grande Boucherie; the presence of the editors, shareholders and their companions is mandatory. The new Emily confirmed the Priestlys' presence at the event; however, due to a health issue with Cara's mother, their nanny withdrew. Any other day, they could hire someone to watch out the girls, but since arriving from school, the little dragons have been downcast and quieter than usual, something very uncommon on a friday day.
If the couple finds out there was another bullying incident, this time Dalton Academy will not survive the tremendous lawsuit, not matter how many tears, pleading, submission, discounts and scholarships they offer.
Miranda instilled the fear of God in the shareholders to justify their absence, but Andy convinced her to attend, arguing that with the scandals and changes the company had undergone, she must be there to solidify the Priestly empire's dominance.
—We will be fine. I promise.
Miranda nostrils picked up a bitter acidic scent, instead of the morning breeze with a hint of chocolate, the omega scent.
"Our mate thinks we don't feel safe leaving her in charge."
It was rare for Midnight, as Andrea had nicknamed Miranda's wolf, to be on the same page as the editor. That miracle only happened when it involved the omega, their pups and the dominance over others.
—I know, darling. There isn't a soul on earth who wouldn't succumb to your charms. —over Miranda dead body, the love of her life would feel insecure in her presence.
Grateful the pregnant omega embraces the alpha, purring against her neck; Miranda responds by licking the back of Andy's ear. Licking your partner is the closest thing to intimacy before mating; in today's society it's viewed pejoratively, but for the couple, it is their way of connecting without the southern regions of their body being able to do so.
Knocks on the wood interrupt their tender moment. Andy, feeling her mate chest inflate, stops Midnight's growl with a pinch on Miranda's buttocks, provoking an indignant grun.
Opening the door, Andy hugs Roy affectionately.
—Hey you!
—Mrs. Priestly. —the laughter is lost in the robust man's shoulder pads.
If anyone has helped Miranda endure these months of hell, it's the loyal driver/bodyguard, reminding her, without directly stating it, that Andy will soon be her wife. Roy also gave her a map he had made, stating the stores of 24 hours, for a craving emergency.
Miranda pretended not to know when Roy thanked her for the significant raise.
—Roy, wait in the car. I will be there.
—Yes, Miranda.
Nodding to Andy, the beta crosses the threshold.
—Call me if you need anything, Andréa.
Miranda buttons her suit jacket, double checking the purse.
—I will baby, and get out of here before my teeth unzip the zipper of those pants.
Miranda feels her blood rush south, Midnight screams in her head to take their mate, fuck the dinner.
Before getting pregnant, the omega was a tempest in the sheets and now carrying their pups, calling Andrea a wildcat would be an insult to describe the brunette.
It's a miracle Miranda member is still attached to the pelvis.
The annoyed, lustful alpha place her fingers on the brunette's hips, pressing their front together as much as possible, but the bulging belly makes it impossible as Andy's belly looks seven months along, when in reality she's just completed her fourth month.
Their three pups are developing without any delays, but since they don't want to shrink, as they're stubborn like their alpha mother, Addison suggested that Andy not exert herself unnecessarily, like navigating the city in search of clues. The omega reluctantly agreed, much to Miranda's delight, but she wasn't about to sit idly by.
Andy's journalism career was put on hold, and in its place, her writing career began. The omega started writing her own book, titled "My Longing." Among its pages unfolds the story of a commoner who falls in love with the kingdom's enigmatic queen, leading her to become a knight to have access to the golden cage with the aim of saving her queen and their heirs.
—Andréa.
The omega laughs at being targeted by blue laser, but the growing tension below the Versace belt and the mating hormones in the air make it hard to take her beloved seriously.
Miranda's iris flash gleam gold as the two guests join in one.
—Hello Midnight.
The alpha's member grows even larger, but now is not the time for Starlight (her wolf) to join the fun. Andy can already feel her presence pushing against the connection barrier.
"Soon." her wolf insists, make it clear to Andy, that no one will get in the mating with their alpha; Andy agrees.
—Give me a kiss alpha, before it gets too late. —Midnight growls, unsatisfied, still Miranda halts the hip-swaying.
The pair share a warm brush of lips. God forgive the lipstick moves an inch from La Priestly's perfect lips.
—I love you, my Andréa.
—I love you more, babywolfie.
One last peck, Miranda crosses the threshold, putting on the Prada sunglasses, hiding the sparks that nickname brings to her soul.
The car has been gone for several minutes, before Andy goes upstairs, needing to calm her hormones and Starlight. Between her and the she-wolf, it's a miracle Miranda can walk; she needs Miranda's seed like oxygen needs her lungs. She longs to taste Miranda's sweat as she is ridin—
"Starlight. No."
The mirror besides her, show her brown orbs with bright yellow lines.
"You want it too!" the she-wolf snarls irritated.
"I do, but not now. Soon."
Annoyed, Starlight gives in. Andy sighs with relief, a crisis averted.
Patricia's hooves behind her encourage the march upstairs.
—Let's go, Patty.
Ever since she became pregnant, the Saint Bernard has been her constant shadow, never leaving her side once she steps into the house, even waiting outside the bathroom door.
When they go for walks, the sentinel never strays far from her mistress, always making sure Andy's in her line of sight, within easy reach. The poor person who looks at Andy for longer than necessary, the furious Saint Bernard bares her large, sharp, intimidating teeth, making Patricia see like the wildest, rabiest animal.
The paparazzi learned their lesson when they were chased by a raging 75-kilo mass.
After peeking into the twins room and making sure they are still doing their homework, Andy enters the study, sitting at her desk with Patricia at her feet.
The writer loses herself in the ink and creativity process.
"Tubsy."
A gust of wind shakes the balcony curtains. Phosphorescent green bulbs illuminate the space.
The queen gently touches the head of her knight's dragon.
"Take care of them, little one." the lady knight leans down, kissing the majestic creature's forehead.
The black dragon purring settles down between the twins' beds.
"My Queen I…"
—Dandy, I don't feel well. —Caroline interrupts her. The alpha is pale, small beads of sweat tracks down her temples. The elder twin expression is strained and her hands clutch the high section of her stomach.
—Come here, baby.
As Andy cradles the pup in her arms, she notices Caroline feeling more warmer than usual.
—Mamma. —Cassidy leans against the wall, a yellowish tinge rising to her cheeks.
Before Andy can even beggins to question, Caroline at once runs, barely reaching the trash can at time.
The redhead vomits everything she ate at her christening.
Cassidy, unable to stand the smell of the vomit, covers her mouth. Pressurized liquid trickles between her fingers, coating everything around them.
Abandoning the chair, Andy takes off her shirt, putting it on Cassidy's mouth so she can vomit in it, since there's nothing else "cheap" in the room.
While the two alphas throws up, Patricia leaves the room making loud retching noises. Andy never thought a dog could make that gesture, but obviously, the exception would be one with the Priestly last name.
The omega is grateful that she never fully developed her sense of smell, the main reason she can look at the greenish/orange liquid.
"Dear God what did they eat?" Knowing those two, the possibilities are endlessly.
Well, at least Miranda isn't here, one less mess to clean. It's very gratifying that it's Miranda who's suffering the nausea, every vomit episodes and the suddenly hot flashes; another little karma for that incident with a certain french woman.
—Mamma. —both voices say.
—It's all right, Rugrats. —Andy reassures the twins, smelling their hormones of anxiety, distress and fear.— Let's clean you up.
Andy rolls up the now old shirt and throws it in the trash can.
"Thank God tomorrow is trash day."
Andy helps Caroline to her feet. The alpha on her tiptoes, avoinds the vomit stains on the carpet, while Cassidy follows her twin more exhausted than ever with Andy pushing her along.
—Do you need to throw up more? —Andy turns on the bathtub faucet.
The twins shake their heads, still looking pale, with their teeth chattering.
—I'll get your toothbrushes. —She turns on the shower, thankful for the enormous bathroom they have.— Once it's hot, rinse off the grime. Then into the tub, pups.
The nine-year-old girls don't say anything about sharing the shower again. Once they have finished cleaning up the remaining fluids, they get into the bathtub.
—Mamma.
—Yes, Carebear.
—Sing.
—Please, Dandy.
—Tiger. —sighs— Only for you my loves.
The feeling that I'm losing her forever
and without really entering her world.
Im glad whenever I can share her laughter
That funny little girl
Andy strokes their hair, untangling the knots formed by sweat and vomit. The twins hum, letting out the occasional giggle at the hairstyles Andy creates with their strands.
Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute
The feeling in it
Raspy, thin voices harmonize with the soprano.
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Do I really see what's in her mind?
Each time I think I'm close to knowing
Andy's vision blurs as she notices Caroline's index finger tracing the rubber ducky she drew before her baby teeth were fully formed. Miranda never dared to remove it, just like the teddy bear with ears bigger than Cassidy's (at the time) fist. The bathtub is evidence of the kind of mother Miranda is, letting them develop their creativity without stifling or extinguishing their imaginations, despite the clearly expensive tile.
Each time I think Im close to knowing
She keeps on growing
Slipping through my fingers all the time.
Andy's voice cracks. The girls are growing up, soon they'll be teenagers, and part of her refuses to accept it, as it will be the new season of brief hugs, obligatory kisses, and routine "I love yous," but also the season of teaching them the adult world, healing broken hearts, and experiencing every first time.
Sometimes I wish that I could freeze the picture
And save it from the funny tricks of time
Slipping through my fingers.
After smearing vaseline on their cheeks, Andy finished with a kiss on each twin's forehead. Caroline and Cassidy, fresh and with more color, crawls into their mothers nest.
A few nights ago, in the wee hours of the morning, Miranda woke to Andrea's inconsolable sobs. After escaped (narrowly) a heart attack, Andy still panting, explained that the alpha's scent lingering on her nightgown wasn't enough to calm the anxiety of the four inhabitants in her body. Miranda, having read the books Addison had threatened her with as if they were the Holy Bible, understood why.
Five calls, a pleading voice and a transaction later, Miranda bought Parisina, a store specializing in fabrics and pillows sourced from Latin America. The alpha acquired all kinds of blankets, from silk to plush, cushions as small as giant pillows; once washed without detergent, she began to build a nest on their bed. The editor worked all day from the nest, infusing each item with her essence. Upon encountering the surprise, Andy cried her eyes out, sobbing into the alphas lips. After a few minutes, hornier than ever, the omega practically ripped their clothes off, riding a pleased Miranda as if there were no tomorrow, plunging them into that intimate coconut, making it theirs.
This is the first time the twins have entered the nest. The scent of their mothers, a blend of chocolate and roasted coffee, fills their lungs, the little tension they feel at once dissipate.
Playing the airplane with the spoon, the twins take the medicine, blushing at the affection of their Dandy. Their eyes become heavier, they begin to nod off.
—Sleep, my babies.
Schoolbag in hand
They leave home in the early morning
Waving goodbye
With an absent-Minded smile.
Surrendering to the arms of Morpheus, the redheads respond to their Mamma's purring.
The closing sound of the front door and the shake of Patricia lifting her head breaks Andy form the trance of stroking the pups' faces.
Miranda worn out takes off her shoes, feeling relief in her tired feet. She hangs up the jacket, activating the security alarm, and for the first time notices the unusual silence in the home.
—Andréa? Bobbseys?
Confused, she goes upstairs. At this hour they're usually watching movies, since Caroline and Cassidy's bedtime on Fridays is eleven o'clock.
10:28, shows the clock on her wrist.
Passing by the studio room, more tired than controlling, Miranda ignores the acrid smell emanating from it.
They better not give Patricia steamed vegetables again. The last time the San Bernard had explosive diarrhea, and her imported Egyptian rug suffered the consequences.
"A problem for future Miranda."
The alpha opens the door to the girls' bedroom, not seeing anyone. Caroline and Cassidy are sharing rooms again, if sharing means having half the floor to themselves. When the time comes, and Miranda refuses to think about it, she'll just put back the dividing wall she knocked down between their rooms.
Disconcerted, she checks her phone, making sure she doesn't have a message from Andrea. They usually don't go out after nine at night, unless it's for a craving, which (coincidentally) on the last friday of the month that Miranda has to work late, are for McDonald's, KFC, Domino's or some other fast-food abomination.
She doesn't know who's more capricious, Andraa or the girls. But Miranda doesn't have a death wish, so she pretends not to notice, since no one interferes with a pregnant woman's cravings, much less the bonding between an omega and her pups.
Upon opening the bedroom door, she's greeted by the tender sight of her omega cradling Caroline and Cassidy in her arms, protectively. Miranda feels that warm sensation in her chest; for a moment, her eyes sting.
"Our family." Midnight purs delighted.
—Alpha. —blue goldish orbs meet brown yellowish.
—Darling?
—The girls vomited. —Miranda, worried, stops at the edge of the nest.— I spoke with the pediatrician; she says it's a general infection, still she'll see us tomorrow afternoon to check on them.
Miranda nods, still tense. Her eyes scrutinize their pups from head to toes.
—They're fine, Mira.
The alpha says nothing. The silence becomes quite oppressive and uneasy.
—Why didn't you call me? —ask quietly.
Andy shrugs. The alpha physically notices her beloved's body tensing.
—Darling, its just you and me. —touchs a foot. Waiting.
—I need to prove to myself that I can be a mother. —Andy murmurs with distress, insecurity screaming with every word she utters.
—You are, Andréa.
Andy looks away, ashame.
—Sometimes I feel like you don't trust me.
—What? I d—
—I know it's not you. It's my insecurities and certain comments that have left a scar.
"Damn that french whore" Midnight growls, incensed.
"Indeed."
Serena told Miranda about Follet's comment to Andrea as peace offering after the challenge they almost executed. According to the mad woman, Miranda never left the twins alone with the brunette after Charles's passed because the editor didn't trust Andy and her bouts of depression. Clearly, it was a lie, but it was the last straw that made the omega sign her resignation.
Miranda, not caring about the silk of the suit, kneels beside her suns. Her thumbs wipe the tears from flushed cheeks. The editor notices that the twins, probably sensing the tension in their "Dandy," unconsciously purr.
—Love of my life. Miracle. The most beautiful of the omegas. My impossible woman. My soon to be bride.
Andy blushes, Miranda unleashes all the love into the air.
—Our pups have the most wonderful, carring mother. You are the light we all orbit, Andréa. Because of you, our daughters regained the spark that their father's loss extinguished. Thanks to you, this house became a home. Loving you taught me to be a better mother and partner, that I never knew how to be. Because of you, Midnight and I are in harmony, for the first time in 46 years, we are living without tearing each other apart at every moment, that itself is quiet the miracle. So, darling, —blue and brown eyes lose themselves in their infinite— don't ever doubt yourself. You are not only the omega of my dreams. You are everything, the love of my life, the mother, the partner and person that all the money in the world couldn't never buy.
A priest couldn't even begin to compare to the devotion which the alpha gazes at her mate.
—I love you, Andréa Priestly.
Andy sobs quietly, cradling the girls as not to wake them up.
—Thank you for choosing me. For choosing us. —Miranda shows her neck, submitting. Andy responds by licking from her collarbone to ear cartilage.
—I love you, Miranda Priestly-Sachs.
The alpha settles in, wrapping her arms around her family, gazing into her beloved's eyes, those brown orbs admiring the twins with such contemplation that a flutter of butterflies makes Miranda want to sob like a child.
Few people accept and love unconditionally the partner's child as if they were their own flesh and blood. No matter how many tantrums, arguments, or shouts Caroline and Cassidy throw, the omega validates their feelings, waiting (with the patience of a monk) for them to explain their reasons.
Andrea nurtures their imagination, feeds their knowledge, and reasons with them, giving them time to reach their own conclusions. She has never broken one promises to girls; on the contrary, Andrea keeps every oath she swears. Her mate goes with them on every school trip, she makes their lunches and hasn't missed a single soccer tournament.
Twice a month, Andrea also takes the twins to the cemetery to visit Charles and while the girls talk to their father, she cleans his gravestone, watering the grass, replacing the wilted flowers with fresh ones. She's even printed out the redhead's photo to put on the Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) mural.
Charles memory lives on in the girls and Andy will never extinguish that light.
While the omega dotes on them, she doesn't allow them to become spoiled. Once a month, they bathe Patricia, wash the cars and teach them to fix small things around the house, like changing a lightbulb, because an alpha also needs to get their hands dirty doing mundane tasks. Every third weekend, the Priestlys do the housework and one Sunday a month they go to drop off clothes and toys to those most in need.
—They're my babies too. —Andy whispers, pulling the redheads closer, kissing their forehead.
The first time Andy gaze in those ice blue orbs, her heart was stolen. At the same time, Starlight imprinted on the pups, as they feel the need to love, protect and rise the red heads.
The girls possess an intelligence that many cannot imagine, and yes, they are temperamental, but when you break through their icy barriers, just like their mother's, the twins transform into cuddly teddy bears.
At the young age of nine, the twins are already asking questions about love, kisses, babies and mating. Andy has begun to explain things to them without sugarcoating anything, much to Miranda's horror. The alpha is aware of these conversations, but she prefers visiting Irv in prison to discussing such topics with the pups.
She may not be a male, but Miranda Priestly will always see their daughters as her little babies, and God help anyone who dares to harm them. It's no coincidence that she's taking the weapons and anatomy course, in addition to be aware of the suppliers of certain chemicals.
Illegal? Possible. The devil in prada is used carelessly, without understanding that within her, in the most darkness place of her soul, there is a sleeping thirsty blood beast. It is in the world's best interest for that monster to leave undisturbed.
If Miranda lose her galaxy, the agony will not be hers.
The universe will beg for mercy, the light will plead with the darkness to the gods and the alpha will reduce the world to ashes, for Miranda will have nothing left to lose.
—They are ours. Always and forever.
If the twins were awake, they'd repeat the often repeated phrase, "Dandy can't get any more pregnant."
The couple's passion has never been able to hide, so their heated arguments always end in explosive encounters. This has taught the twins to wear headphones, and not because they scream at each other, giving them panic attacks, but because 90% of their encounters end with the door closed and strange noises sounding behind it.
After a Sunday dinner with their friends, the couple disappeared following Emily reluctantly comments of the interview that the bloody blonde man-child gave, in those minutes, Cristian discussed some of the omega's growing attributes. As expected, a green Miranda asked Andy to accompany her to the studio for a moment.
When Emily lost in the mismatch between Nigel and Serena, she knocked tembling like a maraca on the studio door, where she whispered (unsuccessfully) that Andy couldn't possibly get pregnant again, as she listen (mortified) the obvious collision of matting. Unfortunately for Emily, two redheads were nearby. The first time the couple heard it, Miranda turned bright red, Andy smirked and Emily fainted in Nigel's arms, the omega man breathless from laughing so hard.
—Go take a bath Mira, tomorrow we have a long day ahead of us. I was thinking, that after the doctor's appointment, we have to stop to the supermarket. We'll make, yes Miranda, you and I, Grandma Sachs's soup.
Miranda nods, defeated. She hates cooking.
—Also no work, Priestly. Tomorrow is a family day.
—As you wish, Mrs. Priestly.
Andy's eyes sparkle.
—Soon, baby.
Miranda kisses the foreheads of her three treasures and goes into the bathroom, turning on the shower.
When she gets out, she notices a not-so-small bump. She's grateful the nest is big enough to keep all the inhabitants comfortable, because yes, Patricia is already snoring at their feet.
—Mira, I have to go to the bathroom. Your children are using my bladder as a trampoline.
—My children? —the editor enters the nest.
—Miranda, every discomfort, mischief, and weight is your damn fault.
The alpha laughs, bringing Cassidy to her chest. Andy staggers, walking as fast as she can.
—Mommy. —blue eyes meet their reflection.
Miranda responds with a kiss on the cheek, inhaling her daughters' scent. Their soft purring and protective hormones lull Cassidy back to sleep.
—Sh, my little one. Sleep.
Miranda strokes her youngest nose with her fingers, just like when they were babies.
Cassidy smiles, the scent of her mothers filling every lung, feeling the safest since she can remember. Caroline rolls over, snuggling up to her twin's back; Miranda kisses her forehead too, grateful that they're no longer in heat. Caroline smiles instinctively.
Andy watches Miranda from the doorway, prompting her omega to want to presents herself to the alpha.
—Andréa.
Miranda gives her a flirty smile, inhaling her omega's scent.
—Don't give me that look, I can't help it. Seeing you like this makes me want to ride you until you fill me with our pups.
Miranda blushes, unable to contain the expression of pride on her face. Her invincible alpha boasts of taking excellent care of their omega.
—Don't tempt me, darling. If it were up to me, I would keep you this gorgeous forever.
—Don't get any ideas Priestly, as they won't come out of your orifice. No, ma'am. —Andy firmly denies— You will have to settle for five.
—Eight. What its three more babies.
Andy laughs, shaking her head; her hormones don't know whether they want to stay angry or horny.
—Don't even think about it! —at once Andy says upon seeing Miranda's dreamy face.— The final number is six alpha and it depends on how the birth goes with these three.
Andys orbs flashes golden, Starlight and her on the same boat.
—We have a deal, Mrs. Priestly. —Miranda fosforecents one, let her now Midnight is in agreement.
Andy rolling her eyes, kiss Miranda on the lips, light. She doesn't trust her body actions with all the baby talk. Turning off the lights, Andy settling in. Caroline snuggles up to the omega, purring against her neck.
—Goodnight, love. —A snort makes her laugh.— Goodnight, Paty.
—I cannot believe this. —Miranda complains, the dog rolls her eyes, settling more comfortably.— Did you see, Andréa? And in my own bed!
—She's tired, isn't she, my little pup.
Patricia licks Andy's feet, making her giggle.
—Patricia.
The Saint Bernard deliberately ignores the imposing voice. She calmly rests her head at Andy's feet, unsubtly marking her territory.
Patricia is as stubborn and territorial as any Priestly.
—Miranda, let our pup sleep. —Andy says, seeing no end to the staring contest.
—But—
Andy usually has to use her hormones to quell jealousy, disagreements, and the occasional fight. She's not proud, but what can a woman do against her four territorial children? Yes, four children because when Miranda is jealous, she becomes worse than a three-year-old demanding their toys.
If the three future pups share the exclusivity that the twins and Patricia currently enjoy, it will be a very challenging time for her alpha.
Andy can imagine the scene: Miranda running hurriedly at the head of the pack, followed by their pups and Patricia, fighting to see who can reach her first.
"What a nice life." Starlight hums in bliss.
—I love you, Miranda.
The alpha sighs, defeated. She doesn't even know why she tries.
—I love you more, Andréa.
They intertwine their fingers, above their pups.
The Priestly family sleeps.
