This series (Bedtime Stories) might take a hold on ao3 during summer (July-August). I won't have my school's laptop and unfortunately copying my works from WP on my phone makes me go absolutely insane. I might try a couple of times, but I can't guarantee it :(

If anyone is interested in these little fics though, I will keep posting on WP! The link should be at the bottom or in the description of the series (though if you don't find it feel free to ask :))))

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

When Lixie was sick, it wasn't unusual for him to feel too yucky to eat. Felix wasn't very fond of eating all together, going through diet after diet, so the little one automatically skipped any meals he could.

It wasn't easier when he was sick, since the attention to his health is watched by everyone--especially Mama Minho that would be cooking broths, soups, and any meal he knew would make their little one feel better. On the other side--all it took for Lixie to not have to eat was a few tears and rubbing over his tummy to show he was hurting.

Though having a stomach flu and being so hungry it hurt his tummy, Lixie couldn't help but crawl out of bed at barely 5 in the morning. His whole body was slightly damp with sweat and cold, his head heavy with sleep and a deep ache.

He whimpered quietly while shuffling through the hallway, one hand rubbing over his tired eyes while the other clutched his Skzoo blanket tightly around his cold and feverish body. He made his way into the kitchen, sniffling quietly. He looked around to the cupboards and cabinets, opening the one next to the fridge he knew had his comfort food, glancing around before perking up, a pleased noise leaving from behind his pacifier.

He reached out for the jar of apple sauce with one hand, the other still pulling his blanket tight around his body. He grunted softly at the unexpected weight of the jar, pulling it out of the cabinet to place on the kitchen counter.

Right before the jar could be set down on the counter, Felix' small fingers accidentally let go of the jar. The glass tumbled down on the ground and broke with a loud crash, apple sauce splattering everywhere. His lips trembled as he thought of the loss of the one and only food he was actually craving, tears welling up in his eyes. He reached forward in the mix of glass and apple sauce to try and see if it was still good to eat, though frowned at the mess the glass had made in it. He bent forward to try and lick some off the sauce off his fingers, though got his attention snapped to the hallway, where multiple rushed footsteps came from.

Glancing back at his hand he now frowned at the slight sting in his fingers, a red liquid mixing with the apple sauce. Felix whined at the now complete loss of his snack, eyes filling with tears once again.

"What the hell just--Lix? Baby what happened? No no, stay there." Minho frowned deeply, confused by the scene in front of him. Felix sitting trapped between the kitchen counter and cabinets, apple sauce and glass separating them. The little's hand full of apple sauce and something red--

"You're bleeding, baby. God, what'd you do, huh?" Minho asked sadly, his voice filled with concern. He looked around the kitchen to try and find a way to  get to the little without either of them possibly stepping into one of the many glass shards, as another pair of footsteps hurried closer.

"Wha's all  this fuss about?" Seungmin's sleepy voice grumbled from the hallway, getting closer at the worried expression on Minho's face. He came over to the dancer and looked between him and Felix, who looked as heartbroken as ever.

"What happened?" The tallest asked, now noticing the blood mixing with apple sauce on the little's hand. He cursed internally and went around the kitchen counter, pushing himself on the marble  table to get to Felix. He made sure not to make Felix move, jumping back down from the countertop right behind his back.

"Mama." Felix cried out, reaching his hands out for Minho. Seungmin chuckled from behind the little and shook his  head, squatting down besides the little one. "I know, aegi. Seungminnie's gonna get you on the counter, yeah?" Minho said, seeing the trembles of his little one's lips halt just enough for a small sniffle. Seungmin rubbed Felix' shoulder and kissed the crown of his head, smiling when the boy looked up at him.

"Mongmong!" He cried out even harder, both his sticky hands reaching up. Seungmin cooed at the boy, pressing another peck to his forehead. "I know, I know. C'mon, Mama wants to hold his baby boy." Seungmin smiled, lowering Felix' hands back to his lap so they wouldn't dirty anything with the apple sauce. He put an arm under his legs and back, pulling him upright onto the counter top. Minho rushed around the table, pulling his little one closer.

"Oh, baby. C'mon aegiya, let's get this cleaned up." Minho said, sliding Felix over to the sink. He carefully went to stand between his legs and took both of his hands, turning the faucet on to just let the water trickle over his hands in case there was glass stuck somewhere. Felix whimpered at the water coming in contact with the two small cuts on his palm, trying to pull away from his Mama's hands.

"No, baby. It has to be cleaned properly, yeah? Mama will put a nice bandage around it when i'm done." Minho said, gently wiping away the tears falling from Felix' sparkling eyes. The little sniffled, but obeyed either way and held on to Minho while he cleaned his hand.

"C'mon, Jagi." Minho mumbled once done, glancing up at the miserable look on Felix' face. The boy stared down at the apple sauce Seungmin was cleaning up, lips trembling while his eyes spilled over thick tears.

"What's up, baby? Why's Lixie sad?" Minho cooed, cupping both the puffed up cheeks that were getting another wave of sad tears rolled onto them. "Apple sauce... s'gone." Felix hiccuped, pointing at the floor. Minho followed his gaze, Seungmin looking up with his lips pressed together not to laugh at the little's misery.

"Didn'..Didn' even get to eat it." Felix added, his voice cracking. Minho now understood the struggles Seungmin was feeling by trying not to laugh, looking up at the ceiling with a deep breath.

"That's sad, huh? Tell you what, Mama will make you fresh apple sauce. In that jar was only tons of sugar and yucky thi-"

"Don't teach him it's yucky if he wants to eat it, hyung!" Seungmin hissed, slapping the side of the older's leg. Minho on debated kicking the puppy or slapping him, but realized he might've been right. (For the first and last time in history.)

"Wan'ed apple sauce..." Felix mumbled, tears hanging on to his eyelashes. Minho cooed at the little one talking about the snack as if it was his long lost lover, brushing his thumbs over the boy's cheeks.

"Mama will make you fresh apple sauce. First Mama will go to the store to get the ingredients, and Lixie's gonna cuddle with...Lixie can choose, yeah? Mama will be back before you know it, and i'll make the best apple sauce Lixie's ever had. Does that sound like a plan?" Minho smiled, pressing a soft peck on Felix' nose. The boy sniffled, clearly not liking the idea of having to wait, but being the good kid he was nodded anyway.

"That's a deal, then. Let's find you a cuddle partner and fix that hand,  yeah?" Minho hummed, lifting Felix up from the countertop. He brought him over to the living room and set him down on the couch, telling Seungmin to watch over him while heading to the bathroom to get the first aid kit.

On the way to the bathroom he woke up the rest, telling them all what had happened and how their sunshine needed comfort. He quickly went back to the living room and crouched down in front of Felix again, patting his knees.

He disinfected the small cuts on his hand, gently dabbing some soothing balm on them before placing a gauze in his palm to cover the wounds. He then wrapped a thin bandage around his hand, just a couple of times so it gave enough support but wasn't uncomfortable, and taped the very end to the back of his hand.

By the time he was done, a couple more members had gotten into the living room. Felix was sadly babbling about his apple sauce, most of it incoherently, but the trembles of his lips and glossy eyes told them enough they needed to know.

"Mama's gonna get changed and head to the store, yeah?" Minho told the boy, who sniffled and nodded, cuddling up to a warm and tired Changbin. Seungmin sat on their left, while Jisung and Hyunjin were on his right. Jeongin walked into the room a couple minutes later, not even glancing at the couch before diving in one of the beanbags on the side, looking exhausted.

"Wanna take a nap while Mama goes for your apple sauce, doll?" Hyunjin asked quietly, rubbing a hand over the little one's shoulder. Felix sniffled tiredly and nodded, guiding Hyunjin down to lay on the couch so he could lay between the spot in between, head resting just at the older's shoulder.

"Didn' even get to nibbl'. Nothin'. 's all gone." Felix muttered quietly, his voice as small and vulnerable as ever. Hyunjin closed his eyes in order not to sob right then and there at how sad but adorable their  little was, his life worries all twisting and turning to some missing apple sauce.

"That's  rough, huh? No apple sauce." Hyunjin hummed in sympathy, glancing over at the rest. He could see a few faces too tired to care--though some were holding in laughter. "'s all gone." Felix muttered once more, his shoulders shrugging slightly even though his  precious heart ached deeply from the inside. Hyunjin cooed out a whine, cradling the little one's head to his chest.

He rubbed his back for a couple more minutes, hearing the shower turn on. Minho would probably be taking a long time getting ready to stretch time--as it was only a little after 6 and no stores would be open yet.

Felix fell asleep on Hyunjin's chest quite soon, sleeping through the three hours it took for Minho to go shopping, get home, and make apple sauce.

---

"Lixie, baby. Mama's back, doll." Hyunjin whispered, pressing a kiss to the top of Felix' head. The little whined at being woken up, though pushed himself straight on Hyunjin's chest, a somber sound leaving the back of his throat at seeing Minho with a small bowl, filled halfway with apple sauce.

"Appl' sauce?" He quietly asked, reaching his hands out to the second oldest in the house to lift him up. Minho chuckled and nodded, waiting for Hyunjin to move out of the way so he could feed their little.

At the first bite, Felix already perked up to relax a split second later in Minho's chest, immediately opening his mouth with another sigh of relief. Everyone smiled at the little one finally eating, who looked as pleased as ever himself because of his favorite food.

"Good morning. What's up?" Chan smiled from the hallway, stretching his properly rested body out. He halted when he saw the faces of the other members, chuckling awkwardly. "What'd I miss...or do?"

"Wow, he's decided to wake up."

"Look who's up!"

"All this mess and he decides to show his face after it's solved."

"I'm guessing you had a good night?" Seungmin grumbled, throwing a pillow at the leader. Instead of a confused look, he smiled even brighter, nodding excitedly. "Actually--yeah! These new meds really help." He happily announced, walking over to the kitchen to take a glass and drink. He glanced at the pots in the sink and all the new ingredients in the cupboards, humming quietly. "Someone went grocery shopping already? It smells good in here, too." He said, heading back into the living room to get into the couch. He sat down besides Changbin and teasingly pat his butt, his eyes landing on Felix.

"Ahww, he's so cute. Is that apple sauce? Is he finally eating?" Chan smiled, making silly noises as he came closer to the little. Felix giggled softly but kept eating like the good boy he was, happily emptying spoon after spoon Minho gave him.

"Such a good boy, eating your meals. Such a--what happened to his hand?!" Chan jumped upright, pointing at the little's bandaged hand. He didn't get any explanation--just a round of loud groans and a pillow to his head.
