Embrace

Summary:

George doesn’t say anything about the race.

Notes:

This has nothing to do with real life or any real people.

Work Text:

George doesn’t say anything about the race. He is considerate that way. Charles can see the happy sparkle – podiums are good, invigorating, and George is so beautiful like this, but he’d rather not to have another word about this weekend. Maybe it’s greedy, but Charles can be just a little bit selfish. He is giving and giving so much, sometimes wondering if it’s ever going to be enough. He can take too.

”Evening, dear.” When the door is safely closed and locked behind them, George embraces him, shortly kissing Charles' lips. Charles stays in his lover’s arms, knowing George would let him have this as long as he needs.

”I got you something”, the Brit offers, when Charles lets go. Both of them stay quiet about the wetness under his eyes, George just giving a tissue to his shaking fingers.

Charles tries to smile. He takes off his jacket, and shoes, and approaches the small table in George’s suite. George has given him lovely gifts, a gorgeous watch, some jewelry and that vacation near Rome, when they disappeared from the world.

”Kimi showed me how to make friendship bracelets.” It’s made of white, blue, and silver beads, and has their initials and numbers. Besides the bracelet George has purchased him some coffee packets from that little bakery which they both loved in Paris. It was another vacation, and they had been giggly and excited, both knowing that they would have had a lot to explain if they had been spotted. They simply didn’t care. There are also some new bath products to try, and a bottle of quality wine.

George is clearly more nervous than with the bigger gifts, wondering if his affection is enough.

”You deserve some relaxation, some quiet time”, he tells, a little firm behind the quiet words.

Charles is not deserving anything right now, but he wouldn’t reject George’s kindness.

"Have you eaten yet?" He hasn't been hungry, but George wouldn't be asking his opinions, and it's so safe. Charles likes the simplicity of just doing what he is told to do, and letting George give him care and love. Charles shakes his head, getting a small smile in return.

"I'll order something. Something healthy, and some fruit too."

Maybe he can accept that for George he is forever enough.
