Chapter 1: Anthony pov

Chapter Text

Anthony pov :

Since childhood, Anthony loved the stars. He found them comforting and they were giving him a strange sense of self contemplation. He would star at them for hours while trying to figure out who he was.

His parents lived in a small town, everyone knew everyone and the streets light went off around 9pm. Anthony would so ride his bike to the higher spot of the village with only a blanket then later, the old disc man he was gifted on his twelve birthday.

At eight, Anthony was telling all his secret to the stars. His joy, his fear or everything that would cross his mind. Stars were great listener, better than any kids at school.

At thirteen, Anthony told them his insecurities, his doubts. He asked them questions, about the pretty boys in his class and why he didn’t seem to fit anywhere. But they never answered back. All of that with music in his ears of course.

“…I’ll take you to the seven seas of Rhyes…”

At seventeen, Anthony came to his spot less and less often. But when he wasn’t feeling well, he would be there in silence, a beer in his hand. And this time, no music, just the loud silence and his own thoughts as the stars’s light seemed dimmed.

At twenty two, Anthony had moved to a professional observatory. Now he knew the name of the stars who held little fragments of his soul, life and history. His job was to study the sky, spending all his night buried in the sweet embrace of the night. He couldn’t be happier.

He was just… lonely ?

His whole life, Anthony’s only honest company were lonely luminaries far above him.

Then one day during a trip in London…

He met Him.

Asa was worth a thousand of stars, Asa was his star.

He felt connect to him. Anthony was a scientific but his attraction, his love towards the man but also the fate for them to even meets was almost…

Ineffable ?

After a few months of relationship and pure happiness, Asa asked Anthony to stay with him,

To move in with him,

In Soho,

In a big city full of life and night life.

And for Asa he gave up his stars, his life long confident.

The first night Anthony carefully got out of their shared bed and managed to snick out of the room without much problems. He missed his garden really much but they only had a small balcony. So Anthony slowly opened the door and tried to savour the fresh, yet polluted, air. There was so much sound, car honking, people laughing, music playing… He really didn’t like the city. He looked up, searching for some kind of comfort but there was nothing. No stars at all were visible from here. Anthony felt so empty and lost, it was like a piece of his soul had been taken away.

But it was quickly restored as a sweet man threw a blanket over his shoulder and handed him a warm cacao.

-“ Oh dear you’re freezing”

Asa started to run his hand on his back, pulling Anthony in an embrace, who leaned into the warm touch. He felt better already, he felt completed again.

-“ I promise we will get a quiet place, in the countryside, where you can watch the stars all night. I promise you.”

Anthony rested his head on his future husband shoulder (he was really think about proposing) and looked at the empty sky again.

-“ it’s okay, I can live without them now that you are here. I’m okay no matter the place if you’re with me angel.”
