Me! The Obsessive-Compulsive Dib!

Summary:

Dib is pacing around his room, obsessing over Zim and what he's planning to do in the future, repeating his mantra of comfort over and over in his head.

(I do not have OCD and I am truly sorry if this offends anyone or is not good representation, I tried to research as much as possible and tried not to go off of stereotypes, I am always eager to improve, so if you have any issues with this, please let me know!)

Notes:

I think that while Dib's interest in the paranormal is...well, an interest, I also think that he would obsess over different creatures and think that they were planning to do something to those around him or himself.

If anyone has any ideas on how I could add/edit this to represent OCD more or something related, I would love to hear it! As mentioned in the summary, I apologize if this offends you.

Work Text:

It's okay. I'm saving the world. Zim's alien evil won't corrupt the Earth for as long as I'm around.

Dib paced around his room, scratching his wrists. He glanced at his corkboard, images all over it, red string connecting them, the subject of the images all Zim. It had been years of this, fighting over and over again, his classmates telling him that he was crazy, their looks judgemental and mean. They didn't understand. He was saving them all, doing them a favor! They would all thank him one day, and he'd finally prove to his father that he was right all along.

It's okay. I'm saving the world. Zim's alien evil won't corrupt the Earth for as long as I'm around.

Dib continued to pace around, his wrists growing raw with the incessant stratching. What was Zim planning now? How to take out his and his classmates' organs and make them into snacks? What if he already had some random citizen and was experimenting on them? Was he plotting to kill him and his family? Whatever. He'd stop him anyway.

It's okay. I'm saving the world. Zim's alien evil won't corrupt the Earth for as long as I'm around.

Gaz opened the door to Dib's room unexpectedly, telling him that it was time for dinner and dad was home and wanted to see him. Dib tugged down his sleeve and nodded. Dinner. His father was home, a rare occasion, he was usually just being projected on a floating screen. Dib sighed, heading to the kitchen, muttering under his breath.

It's okay. I'm saving the world. Zim's alien evil won't corrupt the Earth for as long as I'm around.

Over and over, his mantra. Something to keep the thoughts and worries away for just a while. Moments of peace.
