“fail”
“fail”
“FAil"
“FAIl”
“FAIL”
“FAIL!
The chanting got louder and louder as Tango approached the Secret Keeper, hand shaking as he gripped onto his torch. His friend.
The button before him seemed to agree with the chants of his fellow Lifers, and Tango was sure if the button could talk, it’d be laughing and chanting as well.
“FAIL.”
The fire hybrid glanced down at the torch in his hand.
“Sorry I never got you those pork chops, Torchy” he said.
It’s just a torch. Just a task.
So why is this so hard?
With a sigh, Tango pressed his ash-covered hand onto the fail button.
All the Lifers held their breaths, waiting for the symbol to light up with the red of failure.
But it never came.
Silence fell over everyone.
“Wh- did I break it?!” Tango yelped, confused. He looked down at his hand for Torchy, but—
WHERE DID TORCHY GO?!?!
Before Tango could even start panicking properly, The Secret Keeper’s face… how do I put this lightly…?
Ripped open.
A fiery portal opened up the godly statue’s face like a yawning mouth, spreading smoke through the air.
And, very dramatically, a figure stepped through.
Then quickly realized that they weren’t on the ground, and fell onto their face.
“Okay- WHAT THE VOID’S NAME IS THIS?” Grian shouted, breaking the stunned silence.
“Wait…” Tango looked closer at the figure. Firey hair, brown tunic and pants, yellow eyes… this person sort of looked like… a… torch.
“No WAY!” Tango’s face split into a smile.
“Yes way!” The torch-guy added, smiling back.”
“TORCHYYYY!” Tango squealed, hugging the other fire hybrid excitedly, tail wagging.
“Tangoooooooo!” Torchy laughed.
“How are you--- what the--- you’re real--- how?! What?! This is crazy!” Tango said breathlessly.
“Look I have NO idea, dude. But I’m like… a people!!! I can finally eat those pork chops!” Torchy’s smile widened.
Tango hugged him tighter, overcome with excitement.
“And we can drop anvils on Skizz now!” Torchy giggled.
“C’MON I DON’T EVEN KNOW YOU!” Skizz yelled from the crowd of confused Lifers.
The two fire hybrids broke into laughter.
“I never whitelisted anyone named ‘Torchy’” Grian muttered, going through his admin screen. “You’re not even on the player list…?”
Torchy shrugged “Think it’s ‘cause I’m like, not a player, ya know?”
Grian gave them a confused look.
“’k so for y’all who don’t know I’m like Tango’s imaginary friend, and now I’m real, which is cool.”
“Wait I that why he was talking to a torch all day?” Scott asked.”
“Yes Mr. Rock Band Face Paint” Torchy grinned. Scott subconsciously touched the blue lighting bolt on his face.
“Wait, so if your real, then you can join me in Secret Life now!!” Tango chirped.
“No, no. Against the rules. He can stay, but he cannot compete, set traps or fight.” Grian said sternly.
“Fight?! Why would I?” Torchy said, disgusted.
Tango rolled his eyes, but nodded his head. “OK, Grian. But now we can buddy now! Torchy and Tango!”
“Yeah! Torchy and Tango!”
Adventure awaits!
