Hell is Preferred to this Reality

Summary:

After Fluixon dies to Saparata’s own hands in the colosseum, instead of going to hell, he’s… transported to the Unstable Universe? There, he finds himself crashing onto the roof of a building, and also finds someone that looks like his friend, or ‘friend’, Saparata.

Chapter Text

“Ha…haha.. Quit- quit with that ‘in another life’ bullshit-…” Fluixon coughs, his chest heaving up from the marble floor of the colosseum, staring at the angel who glowered down at his eyes.

He had lost. Fluixon had lost the duel that would decide one or the other’s fate- and now he laid in defeat. He could see the bar with the amount of seconds before he died, and as he watched the seconds slowly go to the single digits, he was suddenly picked up into a sitting position, arms wrapped around him in a tight embrace.

”I’m serious, Flux. It… it may not mean this much to you, but… But I really do think we’d be…”

… Saparata didn’t get to finish his sentence before Fluixon left, and his voice slowly became inaudible and muffled. Fluixon gently closed his eyes.

The announcement rang loudly: ”Fluixon was slain by Saparata”.

Darkness.

Is this what death felt like?

Despite fighting against the fear of death his whole life, it felt… surprisingly peaceful. Though he knew that he wasn’t going to heaven, he knew that this wasn’t hell either. Fluixon couldn’t move, or feel anything at all- except for the faint yelling in his right ear, or what felt like his right ear. It sounded like Saparata… Oh, right, he remembered hearing a conversation about the dying process, and how the brain can still process some sounds before actual death.

An image of Ish appeared in the pitch dark. Fluixon immediately recognized who he was. After all, he was basically the god that controlled everything in their world. Maybe he was here to send him to hell?

”Now, now. Don’t you worry. You’re… not quite going to hell yet.” Ish spoke with a rather giddy tone. Fluixon wish he could talk, but he didn’t really know how. When Ish stopped talking, Saparata’s voice got a little louder. Ish noticed the silence, and Fluixon suddenly felt the ability to talk again.

”…Yet? So I am going there eventually, yeah thanks.” Fluixon tried to get Saparata’s voice out his ear, so he hit the right side of his head a few times. Once he realized that it wasn’t working, he just gave up.

”I’m running an experiment. So, would you rather hell, or another chance?” He smiled and made his way forward and closer to Fluixon. He didn’t like the fact that Ish was trying to be so mysterious, when everyone knew that their interactions with Ish were more enjoyable than… this. But maybe this is what he deserves for being such a horrible person. The sound of another chance though… It didn’t seem too bad.

“And if I say yes? Where exactly are you bringing me?”

Ish’s smile grew bigger, “I’ll take that as a yes.” And with a snap of his fingers, he disappeared, and Fluixon was alone again. Saparata’s voice only got louder to the point where Fluixon could actually know what he was saying… but he wasn’t saying anything, he was just crying and sobbing loudly in his ear.

Damn, can’t he cry somewhere else?? Maybe Saparata secretly knew that Fluixon could still hear him and wanted to be a pain in his ass even when he’s dying. Though, it did make him a little sad. He didn’t know that Saparata still cared so much for him even when he betrayed him.

————————

A loud thud hit the roof of the building, and someone crashed into the floor, making a huge hole in the ceiling and a dent on the expensive red carpet. Who was it? The one and only Fluixon, coughing from the impact as he squinted his eyes from the light, trying to absorb his surroundings.

It looked like he was in a hallway of some… mansion. The walls were made of deep slate bricks and the windows were stained black, with the only sources of light being the dim lanterns and the noticeably large hole above him. Jeez, will he end up having to pay for that? With that thought entering his mind, he forced himself up and leaned on the wall to walk. Surprisingly though, it didn’t hurt as bad as he expected and managed to walk by himself shortly after.

As he was about to turn the corner, he peeked to see the other side first, and saw a staircase… and a person making their way towards Fluixon. He didn’t have time to observe the person in time, and just opened the nearest door and hid. It looked like some sort of armory. It was filled with netherite gear- something he’d thought that he’d never see, since netherite was a very rare thing in… the universe he once was from. With all the netherite from island 1, you could only really use it to make netherite swords. There was never enough to make… this much netherite gear.

As he sat there in silence, he could hear the footsteps come closer to the door. He held his breath when the sound stopped. Whoever was behind that door, they must be dangerous. This whole place looks dangerous by itself! The door opens, and the man immediately closes the door behind him. Turning around, he faces Fluixon, who looks like a frightened little cat in the corner.

“State your name and where you’re from, or else I’m wiping that head clean off your neck.” The man orders. He has white, long hair and black angel wings at the side of his head. He must be a fallen angel. Fluixon has read about them, but he’s only seen normal angels. But this guy looks strangely familiar… Wait, is this..?

”Saps- it’s me! Are you out of your mind-“ His hand goes around his throat, causing him to stop talking and his head to hit the wall. Fluixon squints as he tightly grabs Saparata’s wrist to stop him.

”Who gave you permission to call me ‘Saps’? It’s General Saparata…” He scoffs, then tightens his grip on Fluixon. “I’ll ask again,” he continues, “State your name and where you’re from!” He yells a little louder. Fluixon obviously can’t talk when he’s being choked, so he tries to kick Saps off him. Unfortunately he does nothing to him since Saparata is decked out in full netherite armor. Never did Fluixon think that he’d see Saps choking him against a wall though. Wasn’t Saps supposed to be soft and kind?? After a few more seconds Saparata finally releases Fluixon from his hold. He gasps for air, but he recovers quickly again.

”I’m…” Fluixon’s voice trails off. Should he really share his real name, or make up an alias just incase? He pauses for a few seconds, before making up his mind quickly to not raise anymore suspicion. “…Flux of Luminara.” Close enough, right? Though he wondered of a place called ‘Luminara’ even existed here. Worst case scenario is that this evil version of Saps doesn’t believe him at all.
