Fallen Feather: Not Your Angel

Summary:

Eggchan finds himself aimlessly wandering through a path in the dark woods in the dead of the night. Seemingly hollow and empty, his footsteps thriving on their own rather his own will. As if he were being guided towards something, an eternal promise, perhaps?

With his mind feeling nothing else of disturbance, and his heart eager to lead him to something, he continues on forward. Blankly. Emptily. As if he has no mind to think at all.

The path eventually came to an end, immediately stopping his on-going walking for who knows how long? The ground he felt were unnaturally cold, and he stopped just at the edge of the cut-off path. Like it was his signal. What lies beneath is something mysterious and untold, something that feels impossible to even exist on the surface, but for him it felt like it was exactly what he had been looking for. Hoping for.

Eggchan looked down upon the depths of the dark, like it was silently inviting him in, luring him into a trap he wasn't aware of. But he didn't back down, he didn't run away and didn't even react. He muttered words only he could hear under his breath, just seconds before he suddenly—

Eggchan was back home.

Notes:

I'm new to AO3 and I was genuinely just so inspired by many people that does uu fanfics that I decided that I also wanted to make my own too!!!

Sorry if this is short or not good as it's my first ever fanfic, it's crazy because one of my fav uu fanfics called "I'm Not Your Wemmbu" was just so good and I thought, "WAIT— why not make an Eggchan version?!" However the plot isn't really similar to each other, this one is different... And I hope you prepare for that, and for more future chapters I do... (I've already dropped hints for the plot of first fanfic:333)

I'll try to improve the more I post dw!

Chapter 1: Fated End

Chapter Text

The cold air hummed eerily as footsteps quietly stride down a path with no ideal direction in mind. Just a pulse of instinct telling him to wander through the lonely woods in the dead of the night. Eggchan's gaze was dully solemn, dark curves of eyebags visible in his somewhat exhausted eyes. Wings too tired to even carry him to the destination itself, that is why he resides in simply walking.

Taking his sweet time before everything else.

Ah... Where was he going?

He doesn't quite know. He was uncertain himself. But he felt that as though there was something faithful awaiting him. A promise.

And so,

He keeps going forward.

Egg kept his head low as if he didn't even want to look at where he was heading. Even though his first headwings out of the four were already covering the base of his eyes, preventing him from even seeing anything. But he sensed it. He sensed his direction, he was firm on where he was going without the need to look anywhere. And so he keeps pushing forward, being unbothered by the now shifting environment as he got closer.

And closer.

The air progressively worsened the unsettling mood, the breeze turning colder. Harsher, as it brushes past Eggchan's moving body. Trees surrounded everything except the path, casting dark ominous shadows all around the hefty woods as if a silent threat to whoever decides to dare come by.  But they did not dare cross the path Eggchan was walking to, as if they were silently and willingly bringing Eggchan to the quiet. Letting him wander through the secrets of the forest itself.

Then, the temperature dropped cold. No, not the winter cold, the type of eery cold that makes you feel creeped out. On edge. But apparently, that didn't seem to faze Eggchan at all. Not once, did he ever turn back. He kept going, not even reacting, not even uttering a single word through the whole ordeal.

And then...

After another extended walking, Eggchan finally sensed it. The very end of the path. His destination. Freezing cold of air came crawling on his shoes in a quiet but unwelcoming manner, yet it didn't seem to push him away either. From below, the air dropped to the freezing point, and Eggchan finally takes a stop in his movement, standing right at the very edge of the path. Like he knew firsthand the path has reached its end-point.

Below Eggchan, was the void. The black, sucking endless void that somehow managed to stay there within the woods. No wonder the path were cut abruptly—another force has claimed the spot it wanted. But usually, the void is located at the very depths of the world. So... Why was it sitting here? Why has the forest ended like it was cut down from existence in the first place?

The wings from Eggchan's back flutter slightly then lowered itself, his second headwings also giving a soft flutter until an eye peeked from a headwing that previously covered his eyes. It was a glimpse of those sparkless eyes. Lifeless. Drainless. Solemn. Empty.

How... Strange it is for an angel to look so... Unliving?

... Why did he come here?

... What was he planning to do?

Then, all of the sudden, a quiet mutter reached Eggchan's lips, breaking the long heavy silence that accompanied his walk all the way over here.

            "Forgive me, Heavenly Father."

 He stepped forward.

...

...

For a moment— Eggchan was standing infront of the threatening black hole of the void. Then, he stepped right in— the weight of his body failing to support itself, he let himself fall into the endless void without a thought. He succumbed to the invitation.

  What. Was he doing?

Eggchan remained silent and somewhat calm as he helplessly merge into the void. Not a scream of pain, not a hint of struggle—it was a blatant acceptance of death. The angel didn't even care to flail, it's not like it would be of use anyways. He couldn't seem to move anymore now, nor can he even feel different parts of his body as he continuously descend deeper.

He felt as if he were being consumed by the void itself, unnoticeably dark spots of liquid slowly taking over the angel's white form.

Until...

...He finally disappeared. The void fully consuming his small body like a simple meal.

Like any other victims, remnants of Eggchan was left without a trace. He was cleaned off from existence.

...

Cleaned off from existence.

He closed his eyes as he felt himself disappear. Surprisingly, it almost felt comforting how the death felt painless than any other death he had witnessed. Atleast he didn't have to suffer again just to end everything. It was... Reassuring.

                         It was finally over.

                        The angel is free.

                      Free from everyone.

               Free from everything else.

                        Free from himself.

That was all he ever asked for.
