Chapter Text
Static.
.
.
.
That's all she could hear, the loud agonising sound of static filled her ears like swarms of angry wasps.
Chosens antennas twitched as she stares off into nothing, uneven breaths plagues the air around her. Her wings rustling low quiet, one of the smaller wings slightly crumpled, almost resting on the much larger one.
Time feels like it's warping together, chosen doesn't remember how long she's been standing near the lake, the aftermath of the showdown carved into her skin and the earth all around her.
.
He was gone.
.
He was gone.
.
He's never coming back.
.
Those words echoed in her mind. Dark was dead. She'd always known he'd be the first to fall between the two of him. Even if she'd hoped it was her. The latter was reckless and practically threw himself into trouble. It was only natural that his drive for control would cause his downfall.
Chosen always wondered what would have been if she'd tried harder, if she'd just talk to him, if she wasn't such a coward. Maybe, just maybe they could have had peace, she could have had freedom in her grasp.
But now none of them could get what they wanted. Because they didn't deserve it. Dark was long gone, now chosen was standing still, quite, alone. Like with him.
After what felt like forever, chosen finally snapped out of her trance. As she glanced around the cliff, the water below splashing lightly. She lifted her two stronger wings and took flight.
The sky was glistening with stars like tiny diamonds swimming in a midnight blue pool. Chosen could see the distance city, and the bright lights illuminating the area around it.
Her heart starts to beat even faster, she never been in the city alone before, usually dark went with her to "watch over her" like she was still 8.
"Do you reeeeeeaalllyyyy have to comee?????" She'd groan. No matter how many times she'd try to sneak away or complain about him coming with her. He'd always come anyway. "Oh don't be dramatic," he'd always joked. "I'm just making sure your alright." Him and his stupid smirk pissed chosen off the most.
Now he's not there to acompany her anymore. It's her fault. Her antennas twitch again as she lands near the outskirts of the city. It was bigger then she'd remembered. Her eyes scan the area to make sure no other soul was near. Why was she so scared? Chosen sighs as she began walking deeper into the city she'd help torment. Pulling the hood of her dark cyan hoodie, Chosen kept checking to see if anyone was around.
The streets where barely illuminated by the yellowish light of the lamp post littered all over the place. As she passed bye a dim alleyway, something caught her eyes.
Light Rustling could be herd coming from inside. Now chosen wasn't stupid, she knew going into an unfamiliar place that's pitch balck and suddenly has something Rustling inside it is garented trouble.
But..
Her antennas wernt picking up anything bad so-
maybe, just maybe. It's okay to go in...
.
.
Chosen slowly pulls the flashlight dark had given her for her 12th birthday, flicked it on and, walking inside the ally.
