Work Text:
Ash and Eiji's home was a cramped apartment, the remains of what was once the hideout for Ash's gang, though they still hold meetings there from time to time. The paint peeled from the walls, and the furniture's seen better days.
Yut Lung had wrinkled his nose, and made a jab at the boys when they had first invited him here. Now though, it's almost a second home.
He sits on the bed, his back against Eiji. Yut Lung melts against him as Eiji brushes his hair out.
"You're too close, I don't have room to braid it for you," Eiji says, and pouts a bit, but he doesn't push him away.
Yut Lung hum, and leans further into Eiji's space. His eyes close, and he soaks up this moment. It's warm, and safe, in a way that feels so foreign. But it's something he's been experiencing a lot more since Ash and Eiji invited him into their lives. He's slowly getting used to it.
The moment is interrupted when the front door opens. Both boys tense. But Ash pokes his head around the corner, and the tension melts.
"Hey, sorry that took me longer than expected..." Ash took off his jacket before looking at the other two. He smiles at them softly. "You two look comfy."
Ash settles in beside them, and places a kiss on Eiji's lips. He doesn't offer one to Yut Lung, and it makes the boy's heart ache just a little. He knows it's just a line they haven't crossed yet, that Ash and Eiji don't want to push him, or scare him off. But it makes him feel like he's still an outsider, intruding on their own little world.
Instinctively, Yut Lung pulls away from them. And of course they notice. Eiji first, turning away from Ash's lips at the lack of warmth pressed up against his chest. "Yut Lung, what's wrong?" he asks, and Ash looks to him too.
"Nothing... I-" Yut Lung stops himself, and takes in a breath. He blinks away the tears forming in his eyes.
Ash reaches out a hand to place on Yut Lung's shoulder. "Please... Talk to us?"
And, God... Why must they both be so perfectly soft and caring with him? It breaks his resolve just a bit. This is more than he ever thinks he'll deserve.
"... I just... I can't. It's nothing." He pulls away from Ash's touch.
Ash and Eiji look between eachother, communicating in a way it seems only they can. It doesn't help the widening gap between them that Yut Lung feels. Finally, they look back to him.
"You don't have to tell us, but we care about you, you know? We want to know when things bother you," Eiji says.
Damn him. Damn them both.
How could Yut Lung ever keep himself hidden from these two? "I suppose I feel a bit left out. When you kiss and all that." His words come out mumbled, and he turns away as he says it, unable to look them in the eyes.
"Aw, Yut Lung... You should have said. We don't want you to be left out." Eiji leans forward to wrap Yut Lung up in his arms, and Ash follows with him. Ash is the first to twist around him to kiss the corner of his mouth.
Yut Lung melts into their warmth. Eiji's kisses follow Ash's, and they're both covering his face in them.
Here, in the happiest place he's ever known, he smiles brightly under their love.
