Nod-Krai, Piramida — the Lightkeepers' camp.
The atmosphere was so heavy it felt almost solid.
Knights of Favonius Fifth Company Vice Captain Lohen sat uneasily on the edge of a bed. His upper body was bare, his chest, arms, and back still tainted with faint traces of the Abyss. Bloodstains and bruises from his battle against the Wild Hunt covered his skin, leaving him in a pitiful state. Yet despite his injuries, his eyes shone with a predatory brightness.
Illuga stood nearby with his arms crossed, his handsome face cold and unreadable. A table beside him was piled with bandages and bottles of alcohol, and his gaze remained fixed on the knight's wounds.
"...Did you really have to run off and fight alone and come back covered in injuries?"
The Lightkeeper's voice was rough with irritation. As he spoke, he unceremoniously poured alcohol directly onto Lohen's wounds. At the same time, he couldn't help grumbling inwardly. He had already told Lohen the Lightkeepers' patrol schedule—so why hadn't the idiot asked him to come along?
Lohen sucked in a sharp breath as the alcohol stung, then flashed a shameless grin.
"Come on, what's the big deal? You only feel alive if you can still feel pain!"
At those words, Illuga's hand froze halfway toward the bandages.
His eyes narrowed dangerously. The anger simmering in his chest mixed with a lingering sense of resentment at not being invited to fight alongside him.
Seeing Illuga's expression darken further only made Lohen's grin widen. Raising an eyebrow, he spread his hands and said in an infuriatingly smug tone,
"Why are you looking at me like that? If you're that annoyed, why don't you bite me?"
Illuga stopped moving.
Slowly, he raised his head.
A giant question mark practically appeared above him.
Although he didn't quite understand why the knight would make such a request, Illuga reasoned that biting him once was still preferable to watching this fool risk his life every other day. After taking a moment to prepare himself mentally, he looked straight into Lohen's eyes.
"You're the one who asked for it."
"Huh? Wait a—"
The teasing expression was still frozen on Lohen's face when the beautiful young man before him suddenly closed the distance.
Illuga grabbed the back of Lohen's head, silver-white hair falling forward and obscuring his expression. Then he opened his mouth and, with astonishing precision and absolutely no mercy, sank his teeth hard into the side of Lohen's neck.
"...?!"
Lohen was stunned.
Illuga did not hold back. Sharp teeth broke skin, drawing blood. He frowned immediately; the metallic taste flooding his mouth made him deeply uncomfortable.
Instinctively, Lohen wrapped an arm around the person biting him. The intense pain in his neck, the scent lingering on Illuga, the warmth of his breath brushing against his skin—
"Ah... w-wait..."
Lohen's entire body went rigid.
The hand holding Illuga trembled violently in midair before going limp.
And then—
Inside the trousers of the holy, dignified Vice Captain of the Fifth Company of the Knights of Favonius, currently on an expedition against the Wild Hunt...
Something responded with impeccable honesty and extremely poor timing.
Lohen: ...
Only then did Illuga release his bite. A trace of blood still lingered at the corner of his lips.
Confused, he lowered his gaze.
His eyes landed with perfect accuracy on the area between Lohen's legs.
The captain of the Lightkeepers' squad slowly, very slowly, produced an even larger question mark.
Then realization struck.
Illuga's face exploded red in an instant.
"LOHEN!!! YOU HORNY PERVERTED RABBIT!!!"
