Work Text:
J extends her hand to V, who’s on the ground, missing half a leg. J is about to speak, offering a spot on the “winning” team, but V beats her to it.
“J, I need you to know something,” V says. “And what’s that?” J spits back with impatience and anger in her tone, but V doesn’t flinch. She knows this statement is make or break, but she hopes it brings back the J she knows from the manor. The J that still showed some sort of patience with N, or was the first one to tend to the wounds of Tessa from the abuse of her folks.
”Tessa would still have loved you, cause she knows this is not what you really want, is it?” says V.
J heard what she said, her audio receptors heard it, her mind knew what every word meant, but she couldn’t process it. She couldn’t understand what she meant by that, how would Tessa love her, she has killed hundreds of both drones and humans, and watched Cyn take her life and skin, and then still work for Cyn.
J’s arm fell to her side, and her gaze fell off of V, instead she looked past her, trying to fully process what she said. Tears started to fall down from her visor, and she started shaking uncontrollably.
V took her chance, she stood up and hugged J, even if minutes ago, she wanted to rip her head off out of anger. “Please J, I miss you.”
But J barely heard what she said. She felt like a bell was ringing in her head, loud and annoying, she felt sticky and sweaty, she felt her vision blur, almost like static. She couldn’t this anymore, she doesn’t even deserve V’s help. J pushed V off, and she hit the ground.
“No she wouldn’t” J said as she pulled out her gun, “and you shouldn’t either” then she pulled the trigger.
BANG
