Discovery and Realization

Summary:

Spoilers for TADC: The Last Act (Episode 9)

"I wish I had pried a little more. I somehow forgot just how bad things could get."

Just as things were finally looking up in this circus - now it appears the abstractions have escaped the cellar!

At least, that's what everyone believes at first.

After all, it’s strange with how many there should be, only one is present, while someone else is missing...

Perhaps the true reality of the situation will be even more devasting than the cast's initial presumptions.

Or: A missing scene/rewrite fic, if you will, on the reveal of X's abstraction.

Quick Note: I accidently pulled a Kinger earlier with a fat-fingered fumble, publishing a keyboard smash chapter when trying to figure out how to shuffle the order. I am very sorry about that; rest assured, this fic doesn't have keyboard smash writing anymore!

Chapter 1: A Quick Extra Set-Up

Summary:

This is just an extra bit of set up I wrote, it's not required for the actual fic story (which is on chapter 2), but I wanted to put it here somewhere.

Chapter Text

After an endless onslaught of torturous events and shocking revelations, things were finally looking up in the digital circus.

For a moment, practically everyone was in utter despair, with no foreseeable hope of moving forward.

Yet, one by one, the circus members had joined in with Kinger and Pomni, learning to conjure at least basic shapes in order to cover the gaping holes.

Well, most of them did.

A certain purple rabbit had still not come around.

He had not taken the discovery of being a digital clone so well. Unfortunately, true to his character, he responded with cruel jibes geared towards the others before physically distancing himself from the group.

The last anyone had seen of him was with Pomni. He’d approached her with conscious intent, seemingly almost about to say something before giving up and walking away.

Pomni had considered going after him, prying a little more, anything other than letting him leave without saying whatever it was he’d come to her for.

But perhaps if he still wasn’t ready to open up, a little space was what he needed.

Pomni was going to check on him.

Soon.

In the meantime, she, along with the others, was going to make sure there wouldn't be any causalities tripping into an endless drift in the void.
