Diana's POV
It's been a few months since I transferred from a good school from New Jersey to this damn awful school, but I have a few enemies, mainly friends and a stable reputation. During this time, I got to know Karen a little more and she’s very interesting… She talks about that Twilight series she likes and she’s a team Jacob. I think… My dad thinks Karen is a good influence for me and my sisters, making me think about starting to believe that… I think that I want to be… More than friends. We went to the movies last week. We saw ‘Ratatouille’ together, I wasn’t that really interested in it but Karen loved it.
“That was the best movie ever!” Karen exclaimed, her excitement making me warm. I blushed a bit as she talked about it. I was lost in her eyes; I saw her shivering.
“You okay?” I asked Karen, she nodded a bit. She always has that shy way of reassuring others to not worry about her.
“Yeah, just cold.” She answered with a shy smile. I gave her my hoodie, seeing it’s a bit big on her. She looked so cute in it.
“Here you go,” I said with a smile. Not minding the wind myself, “Now you’re a bit warmer.” Karen smiled after the momentary shock.
“Are you sure?” Karen asked, something she does whenever someone does nice for her, I nodded.
“I’ll be good,” I reassured her. I got into it, not minding it, “I could handle worse, you can keep it too, I have more at home.”
Karen's POV
Diana has been awfully nice to me lately and I don’t hate it, but I feel confused about it. I was at the food court in the middle floor of the mall when I told Megan, Ari, Hunter and Emily, since they’ve dated other people before.
“So, she’s treating you nicely.” Megan pointed out as Ari takes notes on her in her notebook, since she enjoys the drama. But I nodded as Emily piped up.
“I almost forgot to tell you,” She stated at the table, mainly me though. That’s odd since she does it when someone is involved, “Jeffery was drawing you in his weird anime again.” That made me sighed. Don’t get me wrong, I am not surprised that he hasn’t gotten over our breakup in freshmen year, but it shouldn’t be that weird. But Ari went on.
“Oh yeah!” She looked at me too, making me nervous before continuing, “Diana saw him drawing you.” NOW THIS IS DIDN’T KNOW! I was embarrassed and put my face in one of my hands, putting my glasses down with my other hand on the table.
“Great...” I mumbled in a whisper, “Know she’ll hate me now.” Megan shakes her head slowly.
“Wait, let me finish!” Emily exclaims. That got our attention again.
“She walked over, saw it and she took it and kicked his ass!” That shocked me to the core, but knowing it was Jeffery who she attacked… I’m mad but worried as Emily continued speaking, “I’m pretty sure it was at the Dunkin Donuts next to that Walmart!”
“Oh god kill me.” I muttered, covering my face from embarrassment.
“You have to tell her soon girl.!” Megan encouraged, holding my shoulders while studying my face.
“You and I both know that it’ll take time but maybe she’ll like you back just as much.” Ari continues on, but I start to worry again! What if she hates the idea or just using me like Jeffery did or just wanting money like Kylar gossiped or-! My phone made its usual notification sound, so I opened it to let it read it loudly.
"DING! You got one message from Diana, reading it now."
BEEEP!!
"OH! Okay it's working, great! Um Karen if you're not busy next Wednesday, I was wondering if you would like to meet my dad and littles sisters for a BBQ. No pressure or anything but trust me, we have good food... Wait... OH, SHIT I better go this call is getting expensive, LOVE YOU, BYE!"
