Chapter Text

You all probably know the place called Night Raven College, a "School of Villains", located on Sage's Island, directed by a infamous fea called Dire Crowley(some headmage he is). A school for aspiring young men ready to learn and practice magic to one day be powerful and well known mages, where all of its Seven Dorms shine brightly in their own ways. Well this is not a story about them - for now anyway. Right now let us go to a location on the southern coast of Sage's Island known as Royal Sword Academy, also a school for young men. Although this University has a nickname "The school of Heroes". Some say it is because of the buildings fairytale-like appearance or the students noble actions and aspirations.

Both of the schools have a bit of an rivalry going on for who knows how long in sports, academics and spirit. But enough about that - I think it's about time I introduce our main character.

There he is right now, walking happily across the courtyard from the Academy. His name is Edward James Brown, though he prefers Eddie for short. He is exactly 5 feet and 3 inches tall(or 160 centimeter-depends where you live) with a bit of chub to his figure - not fat by all means, just a bit round. He has milk chocolate colored skin, little beauty marks visible on his arms, short, curly hair styled like a mini afro that was the color of golden honey, his eyes were small and black like two shiny pieces of onyx gemstones. An important fact to add is that Eddie is a beastman. More specifically a bear beastman. To prove that, you could easily see his fluffy golden ears on his tail and a little bear tail on his bum, sometimes hidden behind his pants.

Eddie stopped his merry walk, turned to his right and looked forward.

"Excuse me" said... Eddie? "I'm sorry for interrupting, but are you talking about me?"

Uhm, yes I am. My, I didn't realize you could hear me.

Eddie giggled and said "I have a good sense of hearing with my ears. Maybe that's why." To accent that the boy wiggled his ears back and forth.

"If I may ask, who are you miss?"

I'm the narrator. I'm telling a story about you.

"Oh, a story about me!? That sounds exciting! What's it going to be about?"

I'm afraid I can't say. It sort of a rule among us narrators. You'll have to find out in due time. Now if you don't mind, I was about to say more about your character.

"Oh no, of course go ahead! I'll just keep walking along." Thank you. With that Eddie turned around and kept going forward.

Eddie is what you would call and old soul - kind, gentle, well-mannered, always ready to help others however he can or lend a listening ear to their troubles. Which is helpful since he is the vicehousewarden of Charblanche, the dorm represented by the Selfless Princess. There he stood loyaly beside Neige Leblanche, his leader and one of best friends from childhood.Even though he's still a freshman, Neige knew he would be perfect for the job. Eddie loved seeing him on stage, TV or a magazine - he even created his fanclub, being the fan number 001. In spite of Neige’s busy schedule, he always made sure he took breaks to rest and have fun.
.

Food was Eddie’s love language. He loved to cook and was good at it too. The whole academy knew of the bear’s talent-especially for his treats with special marmalade he made from scratch. It was his signature dish. Cooking a meal was his special way of comforting, showing he cares.

Although he isn't without his flaws - let's be honest who isn't? Eddie could be a bit forgetful sometimes, he can also get easily distracted by things, food especially. He also believes that everyone has good in them which isn't really a flaw, but can get him into trouble nontheless.

"Auntie Lu says that people have to have flaws or else they wouldn't be human. The important thing is to learn from your mistakes."

I suppose your right. Would you mind telling me, where are you going on this November Saturday afternoon?

" Not at all. I'm going to a meal to celebrate ending of midterms. I got 80% on mine!"

That's wonderfull! You must be really smart then.

"Well, not really. I have Down's Syndrom and that makes it a little harder for me to study than other students. If it wasn't for my friends and teachers I don't think I would have scored as high as I did."

Well, congratulations anyway, but why are you going alone?

"Everyone else already had plans, so I decided to go on my own. I'm going to a restaurant called 'Mostro Lounge' in Night Raven Collage." Eddie paused and took out a brochure from his cub-shaped bag with information about the place. " Can you believe it's run by a student?! He must be super smart to run his own business. They also have a new point system. I'm not really sure how that works but I guess I'll find out when I get there."

I see. By the way I really love the red sweater you're wearing. It pairs nicely with the yellow pants. And the green scarf.

:Thank you!" Eddie stopped in his tracks and did a little twirl. "It's my favourite. I got it from my dad as a birthday present. You see-"

GRRRROOOOAAAARRRRLLLLNNNNG…

Suddenly there was a loud growling sound coming from somewhere. Eddie opened his mouth in suprise and looked down on his middle.

"Hee he, sorry." Eddie said shyly while rubbing his midrif. "That was my tummy. i can't wait to try the food in Mostro Lounge and my tummy can't wait either."

Don't let me stop you then. I'll be right behind you.

"Okay!" said Eddie and went on his merry way. While he was walking the wind picked up, blowing with gusto. That gave our bear an idea. He began to hum a little hum.

'Hum dum dum ditty dum
Hum dum dum

Oh the wind is lashing lustily
And the trees are thrashing thrustily
And the leaves are rustling gustily
So it's rather safe to say

That it seems that it may turn out to be
Feels that it will undoubtedly
It looks like a rather blustery day, today

It seems that it may turn out to be
Feels that it will undoubtedly
Looks like a rather blustery day, today'

With a hum to his step Eddie continued on, to a meal he wouldn't ever forget.
