Summary:

Um Hikaru is outed by a rumor. Causing the villagers to stare and for his reputation to plummet.

Chapter Text

Yoshiki brought tea out from the bag he had. Pouring it into a cup and handing it to Hikaru. Its been 6 months. 6 months when the rumor circulated. That Hikaru Indou liked a boy. Rumor has it that it was his very own best friend. Yoshiki Tsujinaka.

Ever since, the two have been trying to keep a low profile. They dont go out into town anymore because of the stares. The stares that were filled with disgust and hatred. Yoshiki didnt care if his best friend was seen as some kind of monster. Hikaru was his best friend. He wasnt going to let anyone ruin that.

"Thanks man."

Yoshiki hummed before pouring tea for himself.

"Oh I got volume 2 of Master and Master with me."

Hikaru chuckled. His knees were drawn up to hus chest. He sipped his tea and laid his head on his knees. Having placed the tea down of course.

"Hey man, why are ya still yknow... hangin' out with me? What if yer parents find out?"

Hikaru said, turning his head to look at Yoshiki. Yoshiki sighed. Looking up at the stars before looking over at Hikaru.

"I... honestly don't care what they think. It aint none of their business whether I hang out with ya or not. Ya didnt do anythin' wrong. I dont see ya as a monster, Hikaru. Yer my best friend."

Yoshiki earnestly said staring at Hikaru. He didnt see Hikaru as gross or a monster. If anything, he saw himself that way. It wasnt confirmed that Hikaru liked him. And he didnt want to risk making Hikaru feel worse than he probably already does.

He wondered if Hikaru ever wanted to cry. Yoshiki was surprised he hasnt. They sat there in comfortable silence. Two souls unknowingly began to intertwine.

"Yoshiki, my mama wants to move."

Hikaru suddenly spoke. Yoshiku staring at him, those pretty lashes rising as his eyes widen. Yet he looked at him with understanding. Hikaru's mom, Yuki Indou, didnt hate her son. She wasn't disgusted by the fact he liked guys like he liked girls.

"Did she say when?... or where?"

Yoshiki asked before drinking more of his tea. Hikaru's cup sat beside him untouched, aside from the first sip. Hikaru shook his head.

"She hasn't decided."

Yoshiki sighed. He stared back at the stars. Hikaru took this time to admire his best friend. He stared at those moles and the one behind his ear. He wanted to have Yoshiki's face ingrained into his head. To never forget him. Never to forget the face of the boy he loved.

Yoshiki's jaw clenched and his eyebrows furrowed. He always did this when he was pondering something. Maybe trying to find a way he could stay by Hikaru's side.

"Hikaru...."

His voice was always tender. Despite the fact he looked like a withering beautiful rose with those bangs.

"Do ya... wanna graduate in Kibogayama High? Cuz... im plannin' to go to Tokyo for college. So... do ya think ya wanna maybe move with me to Tokyo? Its not too long until Summer break. We can go escape for a while. Then after our last year of highschool, we can move in together?"

Yoshiki proposed this plan.

"You'd do that fer me? Im just worried fer my mama. I don't care about the whispers of the village. I guess what matters to me... is keeping ya around."

Hikaru rubbed his neck as he looked at the riverbank water. He felt the heat creep up to his face from what he said. Yoshiki chuckled.

"Asako, Yukki and Maki, yknow they dont care that you like guys. I mean, they think its a bit weird but, they dont hate ya."

Yoshiki looked at Hikaru. A silence settled between them once more. The fish and bugs were going with the current of the river. Hikaru felt a warm presence being close next to him. He looked to Yoshiki. He felt two arms wrap around him.

"If yer gonna leave. If yer mama wants to move ya somewhere better, I aint gonna try to stop her. Even if we graduate in different schools, I aint gonna forget ya. Ill stay with ya, till the end."

Hikaru blinked. Yoshiki wasnt the type to do things first. Like giving a hug first. He wrapped his arms around him. Two souls burnt brightly when next to one another. Each one keeping the other one burning brightly.

"Yoshiki..."

The black haired boy hummed in acknowledgment. Waiting for him to speak. He felt 2 hands push him off and watched the white hair boy as he spoke.

"The rumors are true yknow? Theyre true and it hurts."

Yoshiki took a pause as he looked at Hikaru. Watching the boys eyes glisten as he took a long time to give a reaction. He could see it in the way Hikaru bit his lip. Those hopefully eyes that were plagued with doubt and guilt. Those white eyelashes that flutter as he looked at his face. Waiting a reply, anything.

"Hikaru... yer crying."

Out of everything he didnt expect for this dumbass to comment on his tears. But he felt a tender hand take a gentle hold of his wet cheek. He felt the slim thumb tenderly brushing off the fallen tear.

Yoshiki wasnt always the best at words. If anything he would prefer to just camouflage into the background. Honestly, he didn't know what he was doing. He was panicking inside thinking of how stupid he was answering Hikaru like that. But whatever he did made Hikaru stop from shedding another tear. Due to confusion.

Yoshiki took in a breath and exhaled a soft scoff. His face facing down before looking back up to Hikaru.

"That makes two monsters in this village then. Cuz I like you. I like ya a lot Hikaru."

Hikaru didnt know what to say. He didnt expect for his feelings to be reciprocated. He did feel the black haired boy come closer. He felt two arms wrap around him again. And Yoshiki shuddering. Hikaru could tell. He always could tell, Yoshiki was crying.

The two boys were hugging and crying in each other's arms. Not really knowing how going forward will go, but they knew they'd stay by each other's side.

"The stars remind me of yer moles everytime I see 'em."

Hikaru commented. They were laid out on the grass. Their hands were intertwined in the middle. Yoshiki laughed softly. Hikaru watched his smile carefully. His heart sped up whenever he heard that beautiful sound. That wonderful joyous sound coming out from his boyfriend

He couldnt believe it. It all felt like a dream. He was so happy Yoshiki liked him like he liked him. He was so happy he was accepted by the boy he loves. Hikaru was too long lost in his thoughts and he didnt notice the beautiful boy looking at him with the same look.

"Ya look good with that look on yer face."

Yoshiki complimented Hikaru. He laid on his side facing directly facing him. They laid there in silence. The crickets, beetles, and other insects chirping or flying.

"Yoshiki..ah jeez this is embarrassing."

Hikaru sighed looking up to the stars. Avoiding Yoshiki's gaze. He sighed, scratching his head and gathering up the courage.

"Yoshiki. Do ya wanna kiss? I mean only if ya want to."

Yoshiki laughed softly before sitting up. He nodded and leaned over Hikaru. His hand reaching to touch his face. They looked into each other's gazes. A silence passing by. His bangs weren't covering up that pretty face since they swung slowly above Hikaru's face.

Both of them could feel their faces heating up. Yoshiki was always the shy one and gentle. Of course he took his time to give Hikaru a gentle kiss on the cheek. Then his eye. Then his forehead. Then his nose. Then finally he kissed Hikaru tenderly.

Their lips moved together clumsily since they didnt know how to actually properly kiss. Hikaru took note that Yoshiki had the softest lips ever. He lifted his hand up to run his hand in that black hair.

They pulled part before leaning back into each other. With more passion and energy. When they pulled apart both of their faces were heated up. Hikaru was the first to laugh.

"Yer so red!"

He laughed even though he knew he looked red too. Yoshiki smiled before giving in and laughing along. Both of them shared one more kiss under the stars and held each other's hands as they stargazed.

"Hikaru.. we should start headin' back. Its gettin' pretty late."

Yoshiki said before tenderly tapping the forehead of the white haired boy. Hikaru chuckled before looking at him. He nodded.

"Yeah yer right. We should get home or else our parents are gonna start lookin' for us."
