Mr. Henderson's new secret

Summary:

Basically Anya and Mr. Henderson bonding because I think he's a good grandpa and teacher and I wanted a fic where Anya spilled her secret power to him. Also this inspired by another person's fic that I unfortunately can't remember the name of though it's good and is also about Anya hiding and spilling her secret but instead to Damian and Becky. This is my first ever fic that I've finished and not abandoned early, so I'm sorry if it sucks, since I'm more of an artist than a writer and very rarely write.

CHAPTER 1

Anya had been having a pretty bad day for the last couple of hours. First she'd been late and had to miss breakfast to catch the bus, then Becky was out sick and Damian with his two friends had been a jerk to her, with non of her friendship schemes having worked at all and worst of all one of Damian's friends said something that reminded her of the lab which made her want to just sink into the floor or shadows and hide which lead to her being even more off for the rest of the day. Mr. Henderson noticed and rather than calling her parents, he waited till the bell rang to switch classes and asked Anya to stay behind. When everyone else left, he quietly let her hide under his desk as he did some paperwork.

CHAPTER 2

After a bit of silence, he noticed that Anya had balled up and was silently crying, so he tried to cheer her up by asking her a few light hearted questions which earned a bit of a laugh but it was obvious that something was still bothering her, so he said. “You know Miss Anya, if something is wrong then you can always tell me, even if it isn't right now. After all it's hard for one to hold it all, especially someone your age. And I believe that one of the most elegant things to do in life is to let people in to help.” This made Anya uncurl herself to look at him, mentally debating if she should tell him. After a few he broke the silence once again. “I apologize, you don't have to tell me right now but I'll always be here to help no matter what it is..” He said smiling, “Even if it's home life or a stuffy of yours got hurt.” Anya looked at him, opening her mouth to say something only for her to close it again and shake her head as if to say ‘nothings wrong’ and before he could say anything else the bell rang and she bolted.

CHAPTER 3

The next time he let her hide was because she seemed anxious and sad though he had no idea why. But it all went down almost the same as the first time she hid with him, her under the desk, him doing paperwork, him asking some light hearted questions and telling stories but this when he asked what was wrong, she opened her mouth to speak with her eyes looking sad and a bit scared. “Promise you won't be mad?” “I promise, you can tell me anything.” She frowned, looking down and away before closing her eyes and just letting it out. “Anya can read minds! Please don't tell the secret police!” This left him thinking that it's just her imagination, with cutting him off. “Anya will prove it, think of something..” and so for the next 30 minutes, she would say whatever he was thinking till he believed her and before he could speak, she did. “No! Mama and papa can't know!” She cried scared before calming a bit, not having meant to yell. “Sorry, mama and papa don't know…” He reassured her that it was ok with a gentle pat on the shoulder and a hug. During the hug, he started to connect the dots with her behavior and the fact that she always seemed to know what to say but also the fact that it's probably so overwhelming with all those people in one room which would explain some of the random nose bleeds that she'd get and so he offered to not only keep her secret but also to help her, like letting her do test in class then the real test with just him and some tutoring between classes to avoid the noise of her class mates, so that she can actually learn and to make sure that none gets upset with her for getting extra help.

Notes:

Sorry again if this was shit, I don't really like writing all the much and am better at planning an ending or world development (I think that's the word, I'm looking for) but not so good with a story as a whole.
