Work Text:
In the alley ways of yoyle city, Leafy was on the ground, tears dripping from her eyes. She genuinely wondered if she should end it. No one would care, so what was the point of dragging out all this suffering? But that was exactly why a part of her didn’t want to die. Everyone who rejected her, who bullied her, who tried to kill her, they would be happy, and cheer if they found out she was dead, and then forget about her. She didn’t want them to win. She really didn’t, but at this point, things were getting desperate. She was starting to think, maybe they would feel bad if she killed herself. Maybe they would regret the way they treated her. What if when she ended it, they realized that they went too far and felt bad. She could die fully satisfied if there was at least one person mourning her death. So she spun her knife around, and examined it, before going in to- “STOP!” A voice yelled.
Leafy dropped her knife in surprise and turned to where the voice came from. It was firey. “What are you doing…stranger” a disturbed look was on his face. Leafy looked away. “I don’t know anymore. Why do you care? And how’d you even find me?” Leafy’s tone was quiet and harsh. She wished firey just left her alone to die. “I…uh followed you- just happened to walk in this same alley way, and i saw you.” The leaf slumped down and glared at him with her tired eyes. “Leave, me alone. I don’t need someone who ignores me.” She said, picking up her knife. Firey reached out a little when she picked it up. “Please, firey. Just leave me alone. I just wanna go.” She curled up into a ball and looked distressed.
Firey couldn’t take it anymore, he…he couldn’t have gone through all that effort of stealing dream island for leafy just for her to die. The idea of a world without her felt so painful. “Listen, stran-“ no, its not the time to act like this. Not when her life is on the line and you could be the reason she’ll die. “Leafy,” she turned her head a little when she heard her name said. “Im sorry. Im sorry for acting like i never knew you. I was lying to you. I always cared for you. Your friendship was something I missed and the idea of you gone is hard. So please dont. Please don’t go.” Firey’s face hurt from his tears. He desperately hoped his speech worked. He wanted her in his life. Leafy had started to tear up and sniffed. “Th-thank you.”
